  1. Welcome to the FMCA forums. Try the sites listed below. They might be what you are looking for. http://www.discoveryowners.com/test.asp http://www.poi-factory.com/node/1154
  2. If you grab bar is like mine (which I suspect it may be) you can change the LED bulb that provides the lighting. The bulb could be in either end - my outside bar has the bulb in the top but the inside bar has the bulb in the bottom. After you check it out, here is where I purchased my bulbs. http://www.ebay.com/itm/LED-Light-Illumagrips-86430-LED-ASSEM-/190630046835?_trksid=p4340.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC.NPJS%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUA%26otn%3D5%26pmod%3D150574197892%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D6423942673264524100 Hope this helps.
  3. Welcome to the FMCA Forums. Take a look at these FMCA towing guide links: http://www.fmca.com/motorhome/towing/204-towing-guides-towing-four-wheels-down.html http://www.fmca.com/images/stories/pdf/towing_09.pdf You might want to look through your owners manual for any comments or precautions from the manufacturer.
  4. You might give the Newmar Ventana a look. They have two different floorplans in the 35 foot length. http://www.newmarcorp.com/models/motorhomes/Ventana/74
  5. Welcome to the FMCA Forums. I am in the same situation as far as looking to replace 6 tires in the same size as yours. I was going to check the Michelin Advantage Program through FMCA for pricing. After reading your post, I started looking at the Continental website. It appears that there are several dealers in my area of Central Texas - many are TA (Trucks America). I am going to request a price quote. I also have a price quote pending from a Toyo dealer. I would be very interested in hearing any comments concerning the Continental tires.

    Lighting

Welcome to the FMCA Forums. You might try Dyers. They list Gustafson lighting. They might be able to help or direct you to someone. http://www.dyersonline.com/electrical/lighting/decorative-interior-lighting.html
  7. Norm & Paulette, Welcome to FMCA and the wonderful worl of RVing!! You will find this to be a very friendly bunch. If you get into the Austin, Texas area in the future give us a call.
  8. Hello gatraveler. First of all, welcome to the FMCA forums. I have not tried the FMCA trip routing before so I went online to try it for a trip we are planning to Great Falls, Montana this summer. When you state "I could not get through", do you mean you cannot get access the form or cannot find the request form? You can either send a written request or submit detailed requests online. This link will take you to the area where you can decide about online or written: http://www.fmca.com/...rs/trip-routing This link will take you to the online request form: https://www.mapwizar....asp?ClubID=FMC There is a box at the top of the form "Help For First Time Users" which will give you some good information about using the form. I just tried the online request and I had my detailed maps & directions within 10 minutes of submitting the form. I still may not have addressed you problem. If not, please feel free to send me an email and I will be more than happy to try to help.
  9. Try this forum http://www.irv2.com/forums/f113/ You might find find what you want there.
  10. I am not sure I have seen this scenario but I have seen statements about not being able to tow 4 down but towing on a dolly. My question would be why you would want to use a dolly. Most states require licensing of dollys, you have an extra axle with associated tires to maintain, you have to find somewhere to store it when you are not using it either at home or a campground. Regardless, I don't know of any reason why you could not do it with your Chevy.
  11. Bob, Take a look at this document from Escapees. It should help answer some of your questions. We started fulltiming in November 2011 and had to change our driver license, voter registration, vehicle registration, etc. We had decided to use the Escapees mail forwarding. Your are assigned a physical address and that is our legal address. This worked for us because we were already residents of Texas. It could work for you if you don't mind change your state of residence. https://www.escapees...edocs/texan.pdf
  12. The closest place I found when I was living in Kerrville, Texas was in Searcy, Arkansas - The RV Fog Doctor. I eventually had a very good friend in the glass business replace the glass for cost of materials - otherwise the cost would have been very expensive. This is the website in Arkansas: http://www.rvfogdr.com/ If you want to do it yourself or possibly remove the window and ship it for repair, try: Dave Root Glass Repair in Oregon.
  13. Check out the Pace Arrow Owners Club at this website. It lists Pace Arrow Brochures which will give you specs by model: http://www.pacearrowclub.com/files/
  14. Wayne, Thanks for the info. I had not looked at Bing Maps but now that I have, I will be using it. It is a great additional "tool".
  15. Welcome to the FMCA forums. Try these links: http://www.coastlinecover.com/tow.htm http://protectatow.tripod.com/ I have a solid guard across the entire width of my motorhome and have never had any damage although you may get some road grime from a rear engine diesel.
  16. Brett, Thanks for the info on the PressurePro. I already have an IR gauge and have been looking at the tire monitors. So I guess I will make the change before our trip to Alaska this summer.
  17. I agree with Herman that most of the money collected from a national fishing license would go to fund another federal bureaucracy and very little would ever reach the state agencies. I know Texas Parks & Wildlife department had their budget cut by 21.5% over the next 2 years. I would assume other states are feeling the same type of budget crunch and really would not be open to a idea which would further reduce their operating income. The money to fund hatcheries and other projects to improve and maintain fisheries has to come from somewhere and those of us that want to fish will have to pick up the "tab". We are planning an extensive trip this summer and I would like to fish in several states. I have compared Texas license fees for non residents to those states and I can say that their fees are not out of line. I am not a golfer but I consider the greens fee for playing one round of golf to be ridiculous. But as my son explains it "that is the price you pay to maintain the course you like to play".
  18. We use the Roadmaster Falcon 2 tow bar and Brake Buddy for brakes. I know a lot of people like the Blue Ox tow bar but I do not have any experience with them so I really cannot comment. Brake systems depend on whether you want a system you can install and leave it in place all the time or install and remove each time you use. I can install the Brake Buddy and have it ready to travel in less than 5 minutes. I know people use various systems. Check this link for a discussion of braking systems:
  19. Welcome to the FMCA Forum!! Brett is very knowledgeable and I had the good fortune to attend one of his seminars at an FMCA convention in 2010. Herman can also be very helpful in pointing you in the right direction. Overall, we have an excellent group involved in the forums and they are more than happy to help with problems and questions.
  20. Thanks to everyone for the help. I deleted the forum URL and followed the new link and click on Forums. Works like a charm.
  21. Thanks for the info. I will try that link.
  22. It was the family vehicle for many trips prior to going fulltime. My wife used it to and from work. Many trips from Kerrville, Texas to Lubbock, Texas in total comfort. Trips from 2 hours to 6 hours.
  23. I know there has been a push to invite our motorhoming friends to join FMCA. Most of our motorhoming friends have been met at FMCA chapter rallies and one FMCA convention. We are currently in an RV park where there are 2 other motorhomes. There are many 5th wheelers here and these are not inexpensive rigs when you consider the cost of the unit and the vehicle required to pull them. Our son and daughter-in-law cannot justify the purchase and upkeep expense of a motorhome to use 3 or 4 weeks a year but they can justify a towable. Therefore, when we want to make a trip with them, it is not to FMCA sponsored events but it is to Escapees and Good Sam events. We need to wake up and smell the coffee or roses or whatever.
  24. Welcome to the FMCA Forums. We tow a 2005 Jeep Liberty Renegade and would not hesitate to purchase another one. It is 4WD and and comfortably seats 4 adults (when you meet new friends and want to go somewhere together). There are many suitable vehicles out there. Check out the following links on the FMCA website. They might help you in the selection process. http://www.fmca.com/motorhome/towing http://www.fmca.com/motorhome/towing/91-dinghy-towing-selecting-a-vehicle http://www.fmca.com/motorhome/towing/204-towing-guides-towing-four-wheels-down
  25. I have had to sign in 3 times today. All I do is click on "Sign In" and the system immediately knows who I am without me entering anything! Very strange. Also, sometimes the system shows I have over 50 posts and then another time only 11 or 12. Very weird system.
