  1. Welcome to the FMCA Forums. We do not limit ourselves to any one "flavor" when choosing an RV park. The KOA parks tend to have more amenities (miniature golf, playgrounds, swimming pools, etc.) than a standard RV park but that would be great if you have children traveling with you. We tend to choose state and national parks because we prefer to get out and enjoy the scenery instead of the amenities. Just choose a park that fits your lifestyle and try it but don't limit your choices.
  2. Welcome to the FMCA Forums. You can do an internet search but here are a few sites to get you started: http://www.coversbyjosie.com/ http://www.rvtoystore.com/index.html http://www.waderv.com/
  3. Welcome to the FMCA forums. You don't say what coach you have so it is difficult to say what is causing the heat. I would think that you would need to get the problem checked out by a competent RV technician.
  4. This might be too late to help but try these two: http://www.blazingstarresort.com/ http://brauniglakervresort.com/
  5. I doubt that it is a scam because it is listed on several other sites. And the ad in FMCA magazine I am sure was not free. http://www.rvparkstore.com/rv-parks/90389-sandy-shores-rv-resort-warren-me http://www.selectmaineinns.com/camping_77310.php Let us know what you hear from the email. We are planning a trip to Maine next year.
  6. Welcome to the FMCA forums. You will find that most people that have an Alfa love them. We spent 2 years looking a various motorhomes but kept returning to the Alfa as our choice because of the deep slide, tall ceilings and large windows. We finally found the one we were looking for in June 2011 and went full time in November 2011. It is comfortable and we do not regret our choice. Of course many will tell you that Alfa Leisure went out of business (as did many other manufacturers) in 2008 but all they made was the box. Freightliner built the chassis, Cat or Cummins engine, Allison transmission, etc. If your look at the FMCA membership directory you will find that 493 members own an Alfa. Alfa specific parts and support are available through Alfateers in California and several others around the country. http://www.alfateersrvservice.com/ The links below will take you to various Alfa specific sites: http://www.alfaseeyas.com/home.html This is an FMCA chapter for Alfa owners http://autos.groups....roup/alfaseeya/ This is a Yahoo forum Check your slide out seals. If they are white you will probably be replacing them in the near future. They do not hold up as well as black. The large windows let in a lot of light but that also means more heat in the summer - but there are ways to deal with that. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to send me an email.
  7. Like most others, we belong to both. We are also Escapees members. You just have to look at the benefits of belonging to various organizations to see if they fit your needs. I just used (last week) the Pilot/Flying J card received as a Good Sam member and it worked great. I got the discount off cash price and no hoops to jump through!
  8. Try the link below. Just select year. http://www.fmca.com/motorhome/towing/204-towing-guides-towing-four-wheels-down.html
  9. Tim & Alisa, Try some of these links. They may be able to answer specific questions since they are Bounder owners clubs. http://bounder.net/ Bounders United http://bounder.org/ Bounders of America The following link will take you to an owners manual for the 1987 Bounder. http://fleetwoodrv.com/partsandservice/manuals/1987_BOUNDER.pdf Good luck with your travels.
  10. Welcome to the FMCA forums. As Todd states check the FMCA classifieds. Also try this site: http://www.rvtrader.com/Dynamax-Corp-Rvs-For-Sale----Rv-Trader/search-results?length-feet=34%3A38&make=Dynamax+Corp|2258100&schemecode=AD&sort=year%3Adesc&&year=2008%3A2012&modelkeyword=1&

    iRV2 forum

I belong to several forums but I really only visit two regularly - FMCA forums and the Alfa See Ya Motorhome forum on Yahoo. These have always been the most informative and tolerant of dumb questions I might ask.
  12. It will be interesting to see what others are doing. I grew up around Lubbock, Texas so I was familiar with tornado precautions and shelters we had when I was young. But much of my adult life has been spent away from tornado areas and along the Texas coast or in the Texas hill country. The storms around Dallas also started us thinking about the precautions and planning we need to do. We are currently in the Escapees Rainbow's End park in Livingston, Texas and what to do was a hot topic of discussion yesterday and today. The laundry rooms were suggested but with 130 sites I don't believe we could all fit.
  13. Gadget, You can place classified ads just not in the forums. Take a look here for the Family Motor Coaching classified ads instructions which can include publication in Family Motor Coaching magazine and online at FMCA.com. http://www.fmcmagazi...advertising/117 If you want to look at the current classifieds follow this link and select your category: http://www.fmcmagazi...ifieds/view-ads
  14. Welcome to the FMCA forums. You probably have a either a Kwikee or now Power Gear leveling system. Go to this website and enter the information required in the Lookup Screen: http://www.powergearus.com/tech-docs?part=1&parttype_id=PS-14&cat=4&bypart=Find+Docs "Select Part Category"- Leveling System "Select Part Type" - (Choose the system you have) mine is "Level Best". Yours could be Hydraulic-Automatic, Hydraulic- Semi-Automatic, etc. Note that the Fleetwood/AMC selection will give you the current equipment installed by Fleetwood. If all else fails, select "Hydraulic-Controls, general" and look at the descriptions. "Select Document Category" - Operations Manual It may take some time to look at various selections but the information you need should be there. Hope this helps.
  15. You probably need to give Alfateers a call but someone on the Yahoo group may have one they can email to you.
  16. Welcome to the FMCA forums. You might check the following forum. It is an Alfa See Ya specific forum. I believe the 2002 only had 4 batteries and my 2006 has 6 batteries so my diagrams would be of no help. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/alfaseeya/ You will need to join this Yahoo group to be able to access the site but it is free. You will find many knowledgeable people on the site and I am sure someone there can help you. Vonis Spencer (on the forum) is particularly well versed on the Alfa. You might also contact Alfateers: http://www.alfateersrvservice.com/ If you look under their Library, they have a 2002 owners manual (in PDF format) which you can download free.
  17. Welcome to the FMCA forums. I don't know if it will help but you might take a look at this website. Someone was looking for a rear cap for a 1999 Gulf Stream and someone posted a list of possible sources. http://motorhome.tl.com/boards/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/24143548/print/true/single/true.cfm
  18. Harley, Try this: From the FMCA home page, click on Forums then on the upper right click on "View New Content". On the page that opens, By Content type - be sure "Forums" is checked. Next click on "New since my last visit" under By time period. Finally under Other click on Filter by forum, click on the desired forum then click "Save" at the bottom.
  19. Maybe the problems with the system are not solved. I selected my usual start page - http://www.fmca.com/ and I was logged in already. I had been online approximately 30 minutes and switched to my email program. I responded to a few emails - about 10 minutes then returned to the FMCA page. I was no longer logged in!!! A message in red was displayed "Your session has expired - please login again". ?????????
  20. Welcome to the FMCA Forums. I have not checked other campground directories but Woodall's gives you an option to select year round parks. http://www.woodalls.com/ Enter the state and city in the boxes. Mark the "show all locations" then click on "Show More Search Options". The new screen will give you several additional options including open all year. Below is a link to the site with the selections done as described. http://www.woodalls....akota&radius=50 Hope this helps. I just checked the Trailer Life Directory. It also gives you a selection of "More Search Options" and includes Open All Year. http://www.trailerlifedirectory.com/travel/campgroundsandrvparks/AdvancedSearch.aspx?city=&state=&country=
  21. Welcome to the FMCA Forums. Are you referring to the Pilot Flying J Frequent Fueler Advantage card through FMCA? Note that it is not a credit card but a discount card. The card being offered to Good Sam members is actually a charge card but must be paid in full each month. I was told that those would be received sometime in March.
  22. Bill asks some very good questions. The answers to those will help determine where your problem might be. Did you check the power source with a meter (or if it is 15/20 AMP, plug in an item you know works - drill, etc.).
  23. Bill Good luck in your new venture!!!! Hope to see you on the road someday.
  24. For anyone who is a member of Good Sam, check out the new Pilot Flying J RV Plus Charge Card. According to the description, it should eliminate all the hassle we currently have trying to swipe one card, then another card and then worry about different procedures according to what lane we choose. We shall see - I just received my card and will try it in the very near future. If I get my $0.06 discount off the cash price it will be great.
  25. Nick, Use the following link to get more information on the Advantage program. http://www.fmca.com/join-family-motor-coach-association/member-benefits/fmca-connections/3455
