  1. RV sensors are famous for not working...we all get used to it and ignore them. Our last two coaches have had " SensaTank Level Monitoring Systems." They have worked perfectly in both coaches. There are three or four readings, Fresh Water, Black, Grey and Propane if you have it. Our rigs have had monitors outside with the water system and inside on the master electric panel over the passenger's seat.
  2. I have no idea what ACA is doing. Just got our magazine, here's a quote from Steve Heim, VP of Customer Experience: "As many of you already know, REV Group is the new name for ARG. The models in the AC line will now be just three: Revolution, Dream (in place if Allegiance and Tradition) and Eagle with a "Heritage option." Maybe that means they are not going to build any new Allegiances or Traditions after the ones already built are sold.
  3. The source said the info came from the ACA magazine...we are members but have yet to receive the mag...stay tuned.
  4. Glad we can help...most of this stuff you have to learn the hard way.
  5. Read this on another forum: New line up...Revolution, Dream, Eagle with Heritage up grade (whatever that means). Gone: Allegiance and Tradition.
  6. That's always a good question. I've read a number of articles on the new steerable tag axles...but never a price. Guess they don't want to be responsible for us having a heart attack while reading a forum.
  7. My problem occurred the first time I tried to use the coach. Brought the house batteries on line to start it, then called the AC tech line when we got to the CG. They talked me through the procedure to increase the charge rate and charge time. It seems the charger ''thought'' it was only charging four batteries, not eight. That boosted the normal charge to 13.6 to 13.8...worked fine since. I'll have to ask about turning the inverter on and if that affects charging the chassis batteries. Now I only turn it on if we are going to use it on the road.
  8. My coach charges the chassis batteries, but the charge goes through the coach batteries. The charge must be at least 13.3 volts in order for the coach batteries to let it go to the chassis batteries. If the charge to the coach batteries is less than 13.3, the charge will not go to the chassis batteries...and they will be dead when you want to start the coach. BTDT.
  9. One brief comment...you guys are on a roll...re interior space. For years 5th wheels were known for having more living space. Now that many MHs have full wall slides (FWS) that is no longer true. We've had both.
  10. You may have it, Joe, but here's a link to an Aqua Hot forum: http://forum.rvhydronicheaterrepair.com/activity.php?s=b52d75847efb367edfbc3085cb9d6bfa
  11. We have the portable also...takes up lots less space.
  12. Carl, which model 45 Tradition do you have?
  13. Not making a point, just pointing out to a member who might need some service that there is no such thing as a "Detroit Diesel Allison Transmission franchise" so he need not waste time looking for one. Sounds like a great place to do business, but most of us are not in your part of the country.
  14. My Blue Ox manual says annual maint should be cutting the strap ties at each end of the rubber covers, lubing the bar and resecuring the covers with new strap ties.
  15. pennpowergroup.com looks like a group of independent companies under one roof...with that group, they should be able to fix just about anything. Here's Allison's recent history: September 1970—Merge with Detroit Diesel Engine to form Detroit Diesel Allison Division, headquarters in Detroit. December 1987--Detroit Diesel Allison becomes Allison Transmission, Division of General Motors June 2007—GM announced that it was selling Allison Transmission to private equity firms The Carlyle Group and Onex Corporation, in a deal valued at $5.6 billion. The transaction closed on August 7, 2007. They are on the stock market as ALSN, trading at $24.88 today.

    Front End Noise

Our last coach had a manual gen slide in the front. I forgot to lock it once, and when the coach stopped...the generator kept going. Fortunately, I had stopped far enough back from the guy in front of us so we did not hit him...think we got his attention though.
  17. On the subject of wiring, in our last coach the cruise control on our "smart" wheel was wired backwards. Set/deccel and resume/accel were reversed.
  18. I use the same brand oil in the gen I use in the big engine...they are both diesels...same oil...Rotella 15w40. The "min/cool" mark is where you should fill the new coolant. The make/type of coolant can be confusing...standard or extended life, I'd call Onan on that one.
  19. How can they say they are the same...two of the three numbers for the tires are different? Where's Tireman9, he can explain it.
  20. No, didn't even think about FMCA and a discount. We were stranded for 5 1/2 hours while the road service tried to find a tire, any make tire that fit. It seems that 295/80R22.5 tires are primarily for RVs, thus very hard to find even near a big city. When I need more than one tire, I'll give FMCA a call.
  21. Alrohrer...this has been posted on here before...this is what the 'book' says: Tow rating is the lower of: 1. Coach's hitch rating. 2. Coach tow rating. 3. Chassis tow rating (sometimes different than the coach's). 4. The difference in weight between the coach's GCWR and the coach's actual weight when ready to tow.
  22. We use, two Lasko portable electric heaters and Aqua Hot on electric, then AH on diesel if really cold. Don't use the heat pump much...won't work below 40/45 degrees and is very noisy.
  23. FYI, DD and Allison parted ways nearly 30 years ago.
