  1. In case everyone didn't get the word, the Continental Tire Program is now active
  2. manholt, Do you know that the FMCA clothing line has been farmed out? Do you believe that money was made at the Pomona,CA convention when there was less than 1,000 in attendance? As far as the Round Bottom Road campground, you do get two days FREE every month. It is possible to stay there for the last two days of the month and the first two days of the next month for a total of four free days in a row! I know all about the salaries of the staff, I know all about the travel allowances of the executive board. Did you know that the ex board went off the per diem and are now reimbursed for camground expenses? Instead of the 35-45/day per diem, they are now reimbursed for the total cost of a campground. 75/night no problem. 90/night no problem I too am a national director and have been since 2007 and have been to everyone of the governing board meetings so I also see the figures and I spend a lot of time looking at them. What is your opinion of the executive board giving $250,000 to RVillage? This was a non budget item and was not approved by the GB. As it was not a budgeted item, it should have come before the finance committee which it did not. Check the mintes of the finance committee in your last GB book.
  3. You don't understand Bill, FMCA is NOT a for profit business. If you volunteer your time FMCA will not make a lot of money, in fact, it might just break even on the costs of staging a convention. You obviously have no idea what it costs to put on a rally or a national convention. Convention centers charge for everything. You want a chair, that costs, you want a table, that costs, pipe and drape costs, and would you believe some caters will charge you $40 per gallon of coffee that you will drink at morning coffee hour. You are a captive audience and it you want to use the facility, you pay. FMCA is an association run by the people (executive board and the governing board) for the members benefit.
  4. We traveled the Black Hills for an entire summer. At no time was an off road vehicle needed anywhere. The best time to go is before schools let out or after Labor Day
  5. This is quite interesting. I also have an ISC ('02) and I have what I call a single stage exhaust brake. It is either on or off. Does that count for two stage? I do believe that the '01 and '02 were available with the ISL which in that case would have a two stage brake but it is not an exhaust brake but a real compression brake. During that time, Cummins put a red valve cover on the ISL motors, what color is yours?
  6. On the Magnum, there is the option of picking AGM1 or AGM2. One setting is for the Lifelines and the other is for "other" . Not a lot of difference in them but make sure you pick the setting for Lifeline
  7. I would go with the jacks settling also and would follow Brett's suggestion. I have a friend that had an air bag let go in the middle of the night, had to clean his skives after that
  8. First of all, FMCA has no say as to what Michelin sells tires for. The prices are set by corporate, not FMCA. Just so you know, FMCA covers all expenses to administer the program meaning that FMCA pays for all advertising, credit card processing, etc. In other words, FMCA does all the paperwork and gets nothing for it! FMCA receives ZERO money from Michelin when tires are sold to FMCA members. Yes, it is possible to get a better price elsewhere, it depends on the dealer in your area. When the Continental program comes on board, they will assume all costs to administer the program plus pay a percentage of tire sales to FMCA. Last word I had was that the legal papers were in possession of the legal department and the program should be available sometime early 2017.
  9. Not really. It depends on the coach manufacturer as to what to do first. That is the reason you should RTFM (read the full manual) and not what someone does with their coach.
  10. FMCA will retain the Michelin program which also includes the BF Goodrich tire line. In addition FMCA will be offering the Continental tire line. I don't know when this will happen but it will be soon. All that needs to happen is the contract signing. The program was voted on at the last executive board meeting earlier this month and approved. No need to wait until morning, I got the info from my area president
  11. Carried. Now we have to wait for the contract to be signed
  12. A little late answering, but the first-year dues includes the cost of your goose eggs (membership plaques).
  13. Just be aware that FMCA is considering offering the Continental tire line as an option to Michelin and BF Goodrich choices. It should be decided tomorrow during the executive board meeting in Cincinnati.
  14. Mexico has a requirement that over the road buses have a auto inflation device on the wheels. The name is Geoset pronounced geo sea.I haven't been able to find any info on it but a few years ago, a guy was selling the system at the Indio western area rally
  15. Well, you could always do what the wife does. Stuff the thing so darn full nothing moves
  16. I used some U bolts and a piece of aluminum bar to mount mine off to the side of the ladder.
  17. I towed a '00 Jeep GC with the diodes until it got totaled with zero problems in over 100,000 miles of towing. I now tow a '99 Jeep GC with the diodes with zero problems but then again I have only towed it about 10,000 miles.
  18. I used Superior Tire in Eugene but there numerous Superior centers in OR so check their website for locations. The one in Eugene was prompt and I was on my way in about an hour. http://www.superiortireservice.com/‎
  19. This would be a good reason to attend an FMCA convention. There are numerous finance companies there that advertise the fact that they do finance LLC's
