Debay my Ambassador has a ISC 330 and 42,000 miles on it. We had it to Alaska once, cross country twice and and many other places.

Complainers can make you think that all Roadmaster is bad when really only a few had problems. Some expect the steering to be tight as a sport cars when in reality that isn't what is best. A motor coach is a truck with a gearbox not rack and pinion steering. A gearbox is suppose to have a little play in the wheel as mine has about a inch back and forth. There is a few out there that claims that is wandering and way too much play. When they complain online they do so many upgrade and fixes only to find they didn't fix it the way they like. There is a few that replaced the gearbox and tighten it up till satisfied. I don't recommend doing so as too tight of gearbox can bind and lead you into trouble. Bottom line is take the coach you are looking at for a long test drive and see if you like how it handles. I like mine and don't have any handling problems with it.

Jack, The new Ambassador is nothing like what we got and seems to be an entry lever diesel pusher. Maybe in the future they make a more luxury model that is a little longer and bolder like ours is. Glad to hear you finally got your door latch. I have a new link for all HR and Monaco owners for parts. https://rvparts.argrv.com/

UPDATE ON TUFFY: We were at our designation for 10 days now and Tuffy seemed fine. This afternoon he managed to escape outside and was no where to be seen. We decided to leave the coach door open and it took awhile but he came back in tonight just after 9:00 PM. Maybe he doesn't hate RVing as much as he thought or maybe he knows home is where his food is. Right now he is looking at the front door for another adventure as it is staying closed.

You need a RV tech to put gauges on it so pressure and flow is adjusted properly. Service manual below list to check pressure as one item of troubleshooting for no gas operation. Not cooling on propane. . http://www.nationalserroscotty.org/resources/dometic-service-manual.pdf

Lyle, Where in Hot Desert Spring ar you? I'm down here too and I can come by with a few test equipment. The recall box shouldn't shut off only 120 volts and could be low voltage at at the site pedestal. I had to have tech fix the pedestal where I'm at now because there was a ground leak.

When I called the current factory and sent pictures the engineer didn't seem concerned at all. I told him that I hope they are putting better quality in the current models.

There bis too much variables to figure out online. Shifter release button, shifter cable, some other interlock system could give you problems. I know cars you have to step on the brake to release the shifter interlock. I don't know what you got

There also should be a shield in front of the flame that hooks on those two top slots and a screw to the bracket on the left.

I believe Rich is right by saying to check the parking brake at the front of the driveshaft not releasing. It could be stuck on by corrosion or some other system is telling it to stay on if brake light on dash stays on. The parking brake should automatically release when transmission is moved out of park.

I don't think that long storage is the causing locked up turbocharger. It could be lack of maintenance of motor oil or maybe not cooling down after running on open highway. Somehow the oil can coke and cause the bearing to fail in the turbo. I may be also be guilty of not letting the turbo cool down enough at rest stops. A this point it may be best to install a exhaust temperature probe right before the turbo so you will know the temperature of the exhaust gasses before it enters the turbo. High temperature means you are cooking the oil at the turbo bearing.

Arrived at a Desert Hot Springs RV Park and proceed to hook up at site for two months stay. I plugged in the surge guard to check for three green lights. I got partial red, green, green from the surge guard. With the breaker switch turned off it should have no light but the first light was showing red. I went to the office and they sent electricians with two trucks. At first their meter showed normal with a little variable between legs but then found a little leakage with the breakers off. They was able to isolate the 50 amp pedestal at my site from the supposedly ground leakage and know they have maintenance on the block we are located. The manager thank me for bringing it to their attention as they want to give the best of service. The electricians said to me "Wow that thing (surge guard) don't lie. I made a very good investment and don't know what would happen short or long term if I plugged into it without repair. I recommend a tester before plugging into unknown pedestal as it's better to be safe than sorry.

It's good to know that works. Found two more tubes ceiling light in the latrine.

This post not about wandering issues but have been discussed at another post. Many have same chassis without wandering. http://community.fmca.com/topic/7598-2013-hr-ambassador-wandering-and-vibration-issues/?hl=wandering

Opps I just noticed 6 more tubes in the galley. 4 overhead and 2 under the counter. I'm not going to count the halogen lights as they are also a high number. Herman there are way too many lights in this coach and the new one are worst.

I would need 20 florescent tubes to upgrade x 18 inch = 360 inches / 12 inches = 30 feet. Sounds like fun.

I posted update on Tuffy as most of the time he is hiding. I didn't know there would be so many hiding spaces for a cat traveling or not. We are still heading south now in Stockton, CA We are taking it slow with only a couple of hundred miles a day now. No rush.

When we think Tuffy is doing better he goes into hiding. Last night he walked the dashboard while parked overnight. This morning he came out and laid down on the couch while I was driving and we commented that he was doing better. Now ever since then he is tucked in his safe spot in a place unreachable.

Sounds like I will be flipping the tubes as LED still cost too much.

I agree.

Yes it is a fluorescent fixture with what looks like it has two 18 inch tubes. Just for the heck of it I smacked the fixture with the palm of my hand and it came on and worked since. I will still check it out when I get time and know it is not the wall switch. If I don't find the problem I will flip the tubes like as desertdeals69 says. Second problem and this one I knew but had to prove it. The brake lights on the dash comes on dim sometimes. When that happens the leveler refuse to work for it thinks the parking brake is not set. Caught it not working and was able to yank at the wires going into the switch at the parking brake release and the light came on bright. I always like to prove a part bad before replacing.

He is not having anything to do with me unless I get him can food in the morning. He still don't like it, looks like it's going to be a long 2 1/2 months for him. Maybe when we get to our long term destination on Tuesday he will settle after a few days.

First problem of this trip. The ceiling light rear bedroom went out. It flipped on a couple of times and went out again. It's either lost 12 volts or the ballast. I'm a few days away from even looking at it for we are on the road.
