    Perfect RV

He was probably thinking....Hmm and last week all I had to ask was if they wanted fry's with that.
  4. Since they were working on the jack system, most if not all of them require the parking brake to be set for the jacks to work. Give that parking brake pedal switch a good look over, they often will use a scotch lock to splice into that system around the area of the switch (usually located on the pedal facing you or on top of it) they might have not plugged it back in properly or damaged the wiring harness. Should be fairly simple to look at and correct either way.
  5. Mikey, whatever you do be certain you add the proper fluids to the proper reservoirs (read the caps before you pour). Brake fluid only goes in to the Master cylinder. The hydro boost system operates off of the power steering system, it gets the power steering fluid speced by Ford. I cant remember how many times I have had to fix a RV that someone poured power steering fluid into the master cylinder. Is the parking brake light lit up when the paring brake is off? NOTE: Vehicles with Hydro-Boost® 16,000-19,500 lb Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) require High Performance DOT 3 Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid and vehicles with Hydro-Max® 20,500-26,000 lb GVWR require Motorcraft® DOT 5.1 Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid. Principles of Operation Applying the brake pedal uses lever action to push a rod into the brake booster which, through the use of hydraulic pressure supplied by the power steering pump, multiplies the force of the rod and then transmits this force to the master cylinder. This produces hydraulic pressure in the master cylinder. On vehicles not equipped with ABS, the hydraulic pressure is transmitted by brake fluid through the brake tubes to the individual brake calipers. On vehicles equipped with ABS, the hydraulic pressure is transmitted by brake fluid through the brake tubes to the ABS Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) , which then distributes that pressure to the individual brake calipers. The brake calipers use hydraulic pressure to apply the pads. The application of the brake pads will cause the rotation of the wheels to slow or stop depending on how much brake pressure is applied. Depending on application, some vehicles will be equipped with a Hydro-Boost® brake booster and some will be equipped with a Hydro-Max® brake booster. Both systems use the power steering system to boost brake pedal pressure. 6. Herman, when you changed your over did it require the handle to be replaced or just the plunger? Where did you get them at?

    I'm curious.....what was his response?
  8. Thanks Bill. I have never been there and until today I thought it was just fields.
  9. Agreed, expensive but location and amenities make it so worth it!
  10. Bring salt and pepper, they don't use it and cardboard isn't enjoyable to eat
  11. This campground is our favorite. It is so popular I couldn't get a spot for 2015. I just booked 2017 in July of 2016 . Other campgrounds should take notice and mirror this place. Oh yea, next June they only had one site open???? WOW. I should book 2018 ! http://castawaysrvoc.com/
  12. This campground is our favorite. Ocean City MD is a great place!
  13. Herman, I just goggled Lincoln NE and found this; I have never been out there and from what I see there is not much, looks like you will be passing through Lincoln NE. Another thought, I am friends with the owner of Demco, want me to call him and see if you can have a plant tour? Its 200 miles off route. They build farm equipment and tow bars, trailer hitches in Iowa. http://tractormuseum.unl.edu/ http://www.lincolnparks.org/what_we_do/tributes-memorials/sunken-gardens.html Frank H Woods Telephone Museum; 2047 M St, Lincoln, NE 68510
  14. Is that what's that is for, bowl cleaning? We do not have one but many we looked at did. Of course the sales person had no idea, I was happy he figured out how the key opened the door. Ha, one could get that right, I had to do it
  15. Carl, I believe they are all in route to Springfield for the rally. I have observed when something like that is going on all you hear on the forum is.....nothing/crickets. Kay will respond to your PM I'm sure.
  16. Shannon, this little tool if you have an air compressor works great and its not to expensive. https://www.matcotools.com/catalog/product/AC91200/AIR-OPERATED-LIGHT-DUTY-VACUUM-PUMP/ Also, I would try and add Freon with one of those one shot cans you can purchase at most auto part stores. As far as searching for the leak, look closely at your compressor, when Freon leaks it often leaves an oil trail, I'd bet its either there or at your charge ports up front.
  17. Nice coach, love that interior and Welcome! As for the rest of you
  18. Congratulation's! I'm glad that worked out and you are all set to hit the road again.
  19. Harryglos, I have a unique situation with our first RV purchase, my experience as a Dealer technician and I have probably less than half the experience as most of the others on here with being around these for many years. I worked for a large truck dealer that worked on Motorhomes, we had a Ford, CAT, Cummins and Isuzu Franchise's. We did mostly chassis work. Over the years you develop relationships with customers over the years and they would ask us to work on other stuff beyond the chassis, so for that I was self taught. We bought our first RV from a small dealership, the owner called me prior to pick up and told me to allow him and the service manager 6-8 hours to go through it with us a pick up. I thought....what???? We arrived early on a Saturday morning and we literally went through the unit filling it with water, running all of the appliances, tank empting and we actually winterized it when we were done (it was February in PA). I picked the service manages mind since he was a tech prior to stepping up to his current position. That was great since I worked on so many before I was able to connect the dots through him. It was a great experience for us, sounds like you will also get some useful information. Take notes!

I was never a fan of the two rail design. Anytime you flex an RV body something is going to weaken and fail, from cabinet mounting, walls cracking to floors popping up. That was the selling point to me on a Monocoque chassis. Since the only way to get a true Monocoque chassis is to purchase a bus and build the RV part yourself or purchase a cookie cutter coach on a Semi Monocoque chassis i.e a true old Roadmaster chassis. Hopefully the new regime will flip the reputation back to what it once was from the intermediate companies partial destruction.

Tom, not sure about who owns what, but after looking at the picture one more time it has Freightliners proprietary wheels on it. It appears to be a Semi Monocoque chassis like the old Roadmaster design vs the Freightliner XC which is just a two rail design but it doesn't have the outboard air bags for stability. While an improvement its still a Freightliner with a stolen name of a legend .

Well that just answered it. http://www.monacocoach.com/returntopower/ That is not a traditional "Roadmaster chassis" design.
