  1. We never boondock, unless over night at a rest stop, truck stop or Wal Mart. I rarely check them on this coach since we have a water use pattern we seem to follow. I know I can go a day without empting the Gray tank. So far the sensors seem to work properly. I had to replace the sensors in our old coach, the tanks were small so I had to be certain they were not full, those had to work. I installed the probes from Horst in the Black and Gray tanks, never had a problem after that. not sure of the system in this coach but they are on the outside of the tank behind what appears to be a shiny silver tape covering them.
  2. Ellen, see the attachment below. http://www.towingworld.com/towinglaws.cfm
  3. ObedB, I have a secret to share, how to get things done around these parts. I called some friends, told them there was going to be smoked brisket, homemade potato salad, homemade macaroni salad and beer and I needed their help for an hour, after the hour we eat. It didn't take an hour since I had the unit already removed sitting in front of the couch. You just need to bribe some friends, things get done much faster that way. option#2 since yours still works it probably has value. I would see if maybe they do the labor for $0 if they can keep the unit. Two simple pipe caps from a hardware store for less than $5.00 will seal the gas line and ice maker water line. option #2 wont taste as good!
  4. Wrapped it up and it works great. So far no more raw fuel smell inside the coach either . Start to finish it took me an hour for the service, an additional 1/2 hour to reinstall the burner correctly after the first attempt. FYI, they will black smoke like an old diesel locomotive if the burner isn't sitting properly
  5. ObedB, I have not tried to upload from an I Pad, everything else is difficult, I can imagine that being easy. On a windows computer its easy. I gave up trying to upload photos on the Forums. If they come from my I phone 6 the resolution is too good. My old I phone 4 they worked, or if its a picture from the web like a filter and you save it to your computer to upload that will work sometimes. I think its the pixels in the new I phone camera causing the problem. I have tried several different programs, decreasing the pixels, I gave up.
  6. I smoked Salmon once in my smoker, it turned out good, very soft, which I didn't like but it had good flavor. I like Lobster, my DW doesn't, she is from Maryland so her life revolves around Blue Crab, which I like. She wont eat steak, but will eat a burger or Brisket . 21 years together I still haven't figured it out. Gave up a few years ago, I just roll with it.
  7. Agreed! Call me crazy, but before we bought this coach, I was crawling all over it to see if utilities that I had problems with in the old coach were easily accessible in this one. If it had anything crazy I was going to walk away. I almost walked because of the Aqua Hot, I knew nothing about them, I figured two furnaces and a Hot water heater seemed simple. It took me two days of AH research before I said OK, and I was still nervous. It got really bad when I drove it home from the dealer and diesel fuel was pouring out of the AH
  8. Puff, wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't hooked up properly, or just defective. I think you are in the same business as I am, and you know how that goes from one mechanics interpretation to another on how something should be installed especially when you are paid by the job and have to read instructions . The probes appeared to in the correct location from photos I have seen from other installations. OBEDB, my wife loves how she doesn't have to turn it on the day before now, it will cool down in 1/2 hour, enough to load food. Once the season begins we just leave it on from March/April to November. If you need help with the installation just ask. Like I said before the hardest part is getting the old unit out of the coach it took four of us to hand it out the window and two of us to hand the new one in. I installed it myself, that was the easy part. I probably spent a 1/2 hour at Home Depot in the wood stain isle with a cabinet door in my hand trying to match the stain for the trim so it looked good once I was done.
  9. Carl, my kids are teens, so they know more than all of us. My lock took me 1/2 hour to make (including set up and tear down for the plasma cutter) $4.00 for the metal at Tractor Supply and $1.25 for the knob from MSC industrial, I painted it with some left over paint laying around the garage. I was going to use the stick on type mentioned above, my concern was the kids wouldn't pay attention and just pull the handle. The latch knob now has a reflective glow in the dark stripe and when you are looking at the fridge its in your face, kinda hard to miss. I probably spent more time and energy looking at new coaches at Hershey snapping photos of what each OEM used for their design. It was fun looking through new coaches and fabricating my latch.
