  1. I spoke to their tech support, very helpful folks. Mine needed a water valve that was discontinued, so I scrapped it. It would fill itself, then overfill leaking onto the floor, when it wasn't being used. I kinda miss it, but we will survive.
  2. It's tough to put your head around having to manually shift an automatic when pulling a hill, but it is a reality for the coach to perform properly. One thought to keep in mind let the engine/turbo cool (idle for 5-12 minutes) after pulling a hill before shutting it down, high EGT's with an engine shut off is not good for anything. Someday I will install a pyrometer on this coach, I have replaced to many turbos that failed due to driver execution long before their time.
  3. Double check both tank vents, the newer vent designs are creating a problem in the industry most have a small filter on them and they clog causing the main tank to empty, while the other remains full unable to cross flow. I just had a new Volvo tractor do this, same complaint from the driver as you wrote above, the engine could only get enough fuel to run poorly, mostly drafting air-- under a heavier load it would stall intermittently.
  4. Jim, I would be concerned with how the air was introduced? This is common if the front tires were in the air and someone manually steered the coach by the wheels with the engine off. There is actually a tool to suck the air out of the power steering system when this occurs, usually only after a repair is made or like I mentioned above it was manually steered at the wheel end. If it happens again you might want to look at the system and check for leaks In the system, perhaps it's introducing air into the system?
  5. Wow, looks like you dodged the bullet on that one! Was the fan working on it prior to failure?
  6. We have one under the dash on our coach, very small toggle switch, no idea where it goes and doesn't seem to do anything. Someday I will figure it out when I feel like removing panels to chase the wires
  7. Herman and Bill, I also like your thinking, I installed three freight train horns under our coach last month, the Hadley's just weren't getting the point across.
  8. Fred if it continues look at Horst miracle probes, I had this problem with my old coach, installed these and it fixed my problems, they were easy to install and cheap. Good luck
  9. Do yourself a favor and read the instructions for installation, as Herman stated there is a difference, I learned that the hard way. Our Microwave (it was only a microwave) in our last coach failed on a trip a few years ago, I called our dealer, they told me to go and buy a microwave, they are all the same as long as it fits in the hole. So we stopped at a Target and purchased one that looked like a match in color and fit nice. Maybe 12-15 times we used it I started to smell burning electrical and the unit stopped cooking but the light stayed on and the plate was still rotating. I pulled the manual out (yea the one I had never read before) and it was designed for "countertop use only". The box on the wall didn't allow enough air around the unit for cooling and it cooked itself.
  10. bandoor2000, When you head to TN, take a look at Anchor Down RV resort. it is just off of I-40. Although we have not stayed there yet one of our friends have, they loved it. Good luck with the new coach!
  11. Glenn and Jeanne, welcome! NJ is not to far from us over in PA. What did you purchase 36' DP, make model?
  12. Wayne, Welcome to the PA Dutch country! We live up in this area. The Hershey Park campground is a nice place to stay for a few days and you can purchase items from the camp store that you would find in the park without going to the park itself (same ownership). Stay in the pull through sites, the others are near the railroad. If you decide to camp in Gettysburg I recommend the Gettysburg Campground, nice place the owner is strict on the rules which keeps the place in order, he also is has an RV he runs in the winter so he understands our needs better than the corporate parks. If you like amusement parks try Knoebels in Elysburg PA, nice place, no charge for admittance, you just pay for rides if you choose to ride them. Good food cheap prices and it’s an old park with a lot of neat history still remaining throughout. They have steam powered equipment still on site (not operating) but neat to look at, overhead belts running fans that are water wheel powered on the side of a mill, wood carvings to purchase and a blacksmith shop. I would not recommend their campground, designed for tents, it’s tight, hilly, only electric, and no rules, it gets out of control. If you decide to camp up there, JD campground right down the street is the place to go. Towns to check out; (not far from Hershey PA) Intercourse PA, walk along RT340 neat shops along the road. Bird In Hand PA, still on RT340 same as above. Strasburg PA (railroad museum) Ice cream shop on the corner of N Decatur and SR741 I believe it is called the Strasburg Country store. There are also some places to shop along RT 30 between Paradise PA and Lancaster. Do you have specific hobbies or just a general sightseeing? If anything else comes to mind I will post more.
  13. Enjoy your trip! Cold and frozen food while traveling is a wonderful thing!
  14. I called them twice, both times they were rude and would not help other than "you should update it again". it doesnt need a map update, it needs better logic or the existing logic repaired. I had a simillar problem with a Garmen, they took it back and fixed it, no problems since (its a Nuvi760 Car model) no good in an RV application. Garmin was very understanding and helpful.
  15. My condenser coil is wrapped around the motor, nothing under and the fan is right there also. when you remove the outside panel everything is right in your face. When its on if you place your hand under the fridge you can feel the warm air blowing into the interior from the condenser, I origionally left the wall and roof open and sealed off the lower portion of the fridge, i figured it would have adequate air flow, I never thought about when its cold outside. The unit wouldnt operate when it got below 40 degrees outside, its a safety feature to protect the compressor against cold oil. So after sending TBUTLER a message he explained that his was closed off, so I removed the bottom seal i had fabricated, sealed the wall opening vent and roof vent. Its been almost 1 year and so far so good. I also fabricated a door lock that I copied from a 2015 Fleetwood Excursion (they run residenital units from the factory), I cut it with my plasma cutter and mounted it to the unit in the existing holes that are used to mount the hinges on the left side.
  16. I ran B15 on the last trip with Howes conditioner and anti gel additive. My fuel mileage dropped from 10.05 to 7.9, I didnt notice any power loss. I ran it as low as possible and filled it up near home at my usual stop with straight Diesel, no bio and Power Service Kleen additive .
  17. I was concerned with removing the insulation value of the carpet, would the floor get warm or cold? I replaced the carpet on our last coach and it was fairly simple, but I had no slides to go under. So I am a bit apprehensive on this unit. Our carpet is no too bad but could use some updating and it's loose.
  18. I had one on our old coach (came with it) it got mold between it and the glass from moisture, had to remove it and toss it in the trash.
  19. Mattera68, keep it up and you will succeed. Thanks for the wand idea.
  20. Puff, nice work! I have been looking at our carpet trying to figure out what I should do with it.
  21. I just ran this route for work in June, had to go to Bangor Maine, other than some construction and hills (just at the PA NY boarder in Matamoras) on I84 it wasn’t a bad ride at all, very scenic. My wife loves maps also. I just find the GPS to be more convenient...when it works that is.
  22. Same here. When we were low I would ask, never turned down. One time we stayed at a campground in Texas and the pipes were frozen at the site, I pulled up to the laundry facility, ran the hose through the window and hooked to where the washer was connected to just to fill up. Yea, right about now you are thinking...... who let this guy on this website
  23. Herman, agreed! I feel the same way. One of these years I hope the rally is closer to home so I can meet you guys.
  24. Brett, once again you have saved my sanity. I installed the scan gauge just before we left for a small weekend excursion. None of my gauges are accurate! Oddly enough the transmission is probably the closest to being accurate I pulled a 9% grade at 1900 rpms and while the dash gauge went up to 205 degrees the coolant temp was at 185 degrees on the scan gauge. To make things worse the campground exit was just at the bottom of the hill so I started the hill climb at 0 mph and accelerated my way up to 35mph. So the moral of the story is I never really had a hot running engine, just a bad gauge reading. I am glad I cleaned the radiator for a good PM measure and I will continue to do so annually. Previous trips (last year) I had my OTC Genesis connected, which streams data at an extremely slow rate and there is so much to read while driving I would miss events, so it quickly became a headache and I had abandoned that process last year after one trip. My coolant temp is 180 degrees; it only climbed up to 186 on the wicked hill and stayed at 180 the remainder of the trip. My volt gauge is 1.6 volts lower than it actually is. I held a steady 13.9. I did notice later in the trip it dropped to 13.4 for maybe 1/2 hour then came back up. I am assuming it was charging the coach battery bank at that time since the refrigerator was running. My oil pressure is reading 15 psi lower than actual. My Trans temp is reading within 5 degrees lower than the actual temp; average temp was 155-162 degrees, while my gauge is somewhere in that range. Other than the occasional bouncing which appears to be a ground issue.
