  1. The question, future of FMCA? This does not have a simple answer. I feel numbers will decrease, not because of anything other than the younger generations (younger than I) are not into socializing. These are my experiences with the younger generations I interact with daily. The Millennial's and Gen Z's want to be left alone cooped up in private. Nothing to do with FMCA or any similar organization for that matter its just the way they are, I am sure there are exceptions but its not the "norm" from my experience. We have seen a drastic decline in company event participation to the point all activities have stopped, no picnics nothing, so bad around the holidays there are no decorations anywhere to be found! Most insist on working from home as they don't want to interact in an office environment, and will change jobs for less money just to work from home and not have to be around other people. They also tend to be frugal, they wont pay for something unless it yields them something greater in return i.e. it must be a bargain. This is why on-line shopping is taken off and became so popular, they don't want to go to a store, there are people there and its an inconvenience. Lastly, they tend to be risk takers, insurance is always the cheapest and "it wont happen to me" runs deeply in their vocabulary, they also raise their children this way which from the conversations I have had with these age groups, god help us as discipline is not anywhere to be found, their children have to be their friends, its a requirement. What does all that mean? Reduction in membership is to be expected IMHO. Some will join and most will eventually drop off, rallies are of no interest unless they attend one to sponge information (technical) that they couldn't find a video on the web that explained it all, once they get what they want they will be likely to disappear. Socializing and the comradery that comes with FMCA it will be greatly reduced if not fade into a part of history. I am sure there are exceptions but they are becoming far and few between. This is sad to me, I still have another 18 years until retirement and I want things to be exactly as they are now when my turn comes. I want to be a part of the future of FMCA and I sincerely hope not much changes over the years and I have that opportunity. To answer Herman's question, I sell FMCA when I see it fit or I can slide it into a conversation without sounding like that was my intended purpose. I believe in the organization and I express it as such.
  2. You can also write a rule that any email from xxxx goes right into the junk folder.
  3. Northwest RV had them in Gold. I believe the faucet setup is Moen. I was going to photo all of it and call their tech department to see what (if anything) was available.
  4. YUP, I have wanted to change out our faucet and hose connection to Brushed Nickle, no such luck in locating that design in anything but gold.
  5. Ditto! I like when we stop for fuel or a break I have hot water for hand or dish washing immediately. When its cold we have comfortable heat throughout the interior without running the diesel or electric burners.
  6. My biggest complaint with the Oxygenitics head was the lack of water. If you have thick hair it wouldn't penetrate to rise the soap out, which increased shower times. My DW said it best and stole my fire "I have gotten sprayed more walking past an animal display at the zoo than if I was standing under that". I bought a Moen and it does the trick, the Box stores sell an on/off valve that attaches inline at the handle should you want one.
  7. That would last me 2 days .
  8. Herman, NO, we have not received an email yet.
  9. I thought they all had Pre-Heat. Ours is a 100-01 (from 2001) and it has Pre-heat and the engine loop to heat the system while traveling.
  10. I had that same model in the video above, I returned it after my test run to see what it was like. When I returned it the guy told me "I will toss it in the pile of them I have in the back" . I went to Lowe's and bought one for a house, we prefer all the comforts of home while on the road. If I had it my way there would be a rain shower head on the wall and above for a good soaking.

    Parking Brake

Glad to hear you are all fixed up. I experience this in the beginning of every season. This year it was not happening by rocking. I had to get my DW in the drivers seat, brakes released crawl underneath and tap the shoes with a hammer. I told her if the coach starts to move step on the brakes (engine was off). I had it on jack stands and wheels chocked but I wanted someone in the drivers seat just in case.
  12. I just read he passed. Can anyone confirm?

    Parking Brake

brown774, has the coach been parked for a while? Probably the brakes are stuck to the drums. If you can safely crawl underneath and tap on the shoes, go back up inside and try and release them.
  14. 12K on a gas engine fuel filter, depending on what quality or blend of fuel is the best place to start. If that doesn't fix it time to dig deeper.
  15. Rich, I meant how many miles on the fuel filter, not the chassis.
  16. habaker, Welcome to the FMCA Forums! As mentioned, start with the fuel filter, any idea how old/miles are on it? That is by fr the cheapest check, I am surprised the shop didn't recommend that when they replaced the spark plugs.
  17. WOW. We tow a Jeep Wrangler and here is a breakdown of the costs; Base plate (when we had one) $250.00 part, $0 labor. Took me 45 minutes to install, very simple. Demco Commander tow bar, $650.00 (retail) M&G brake system, $700.00 with breakaway kit. $1600.00 down the road we go!
  18. The photo with the stainless cover; the left hose looks like its chaffing on the cover and whomever installed that cover didn't do it properly, the hand holes are not aligned properly with the corresponding holes on the wheel cover.

    Unusual tire wear

I would certainly take the unit to a frame shop for an alignment. I wonder what (if any) frame modifications were done by the coach manufacture. I good truck frame shop should be able to identify any defects in workmanship pretty fast.
  20. Brian, I have no experience with Crown batteries. I do have experience with Interstate, up until my last house batteries that experience was NOT good. However my wet cell 6V house batteries I had were around 7 years old when I upgraded them to Deka AGM's. I upgraded figuring I was on borrowed time but they still worked perfectly.
  21. Puff, have you tried it out to see how long? I only have one 2000 watt inverter, no solar and my refrigerator has ran over 8 hours without the auto start engaging the generator.
  22. No way! I am past the point of projects in my life.
