Bridge clearance - Busted Kenwood DNX571TR

I'm curious, what did you think of this GPS before it broke and what happened to it that it needed to be repaired? I am in the market for a replacement GPS and this is a brand I hadn't considered. -

I will not...WILL NOT send someone to IRV2! To many keyboard bullies and I don't want to be the guy that sent them there for a whipping.

Who, What, When, Where or Just Lets Talk

Do you have a portable EMS on the tower, that would give you a time delay? Don't worry, I am guilty of stuff like this also!. A few years ago I plugged our's in with the generator running with both AC units on, stalled the generator . Won't do that again! -
There is also a lot of variables to be determined that will ultimately determine battery life including habits that no one can calculate for but you. I would recommend running it on a trial at home and simulate how you dry camp if traveling. For us I gave up around the 12 hour mark with 85% battery life remaining. If that concerned install a generator auto start/stop and solar on the roof. I actually figured out how to set up the auto start/stop feature while watching TV testing the draw in my driveway. Now I just make sure its programmed properly and forget about it. We also make hot beverages and breakfast in the AM so starting the generator is a morning must (induction cooktop).

Since this coach was inherited, id look it over for structural damaged from water and if all good make a decision to either fix it or run it as it is, since it sounds like you don't have any money invested into it. I actually considered aluminum skinning our last coach and removing the fiberglass.

I believe it is the amount of "people" that created user ID and passwords for the forums.

I can’t believe I forgot to mention this; Always look at the campground website for directions. I then look at it on google maps, anything that looks off I go to street view. We have found if you’re going to have a problem it will be off of the main roads trying to wander back to the campground. To put this into better perspective, we are part timers, mostly running interstates due to time constraints. A friend and I failed to do so up in the PA mountains. Ironically both of us took the same switchbacks straight up and over the mountains, both gas coaches towing started to over heat (hill was too much). What was really funny neither of us discussed it (we came through at different times) our wives did and ganged up on us. That was 6 years ago and we both still get harassed about that mess every time our wives get together . This was also the same time our Rand McNally GPS took us onto a farmers property because it was thought to be a road, I had a bit more of an interesting drive than he did. -
Old video that was enjoyable to watch.

Mark another good source of information is right here! Where are you headed or was this a general question? Most of us on here could probably recite the route we went to get to a point of interest. Merry Christmas 🎄Happy Holidays to everyone 🎅 -

FMCA and Good Sam both have a road atlas. We have both in our arsenal at all times. I’m the worry wart, I go as far as plotting our course before leaving home on google or the good Sam trip planner (sometimes both just to be sure) and it will help you avoid low bridges. I go as far as street view to familiarize myself with intersections with “Street View”. If we deviate off course, out come the books. My DW has a boaters license and can navigate utilizing charts, I leave the FMCA atlas in reach of her seat. I figure if she can pass that course there should be no issues! We have a Rand McNally GPS, absolutely useless, guaranteed to get you stuck in a field or somewhere you shouldn’t be in a large vehicle! i use it as an electronic map ONLY to see what we are approaching. -
Herman on the coach in question it should assuming it has never had the Torque converter replaced, the new ones do not. Most new cars and trucks don’t have a dip stick either.
