  1. We have towed our 2012 Forester over 9000 miles. Tires are wearing perfectly, no funny noises occurring, and I use it as my driver around home. The car performed very well on our snowy or icy roads this winter and scooted up our snow covered 16% grade driveway with no problem. Maybe corporate lawyers are considering liability issues? I intend to keep towing ours.
  2. Thanks all. Kay try their site (washwax.com). If it works well on Wayne's toad, I am going to give it a try. Supposed to take bugs off the front with no water. Maybe I will just try one bottle on the bugs. If it works then I will buy more and the mop as well, unless I get a negative response from Wayne or somebody else. Motorhome Magazine gave it good numbers. Joe/ mine isn't as shiny as yours. I guess that it is gelcoat, but I am not positive. They show the stuff being used on aircraft. Kinda doubt that they are gel coated. The product has been around for thirty years or so. Maybe it it the one that Kay remembers.
  3. I have observed coach owners using a waterless product with a mop to wipe the outside down. Looking back several years and I have found no mention of such a product. I am specifically interested in Wash Wax All. Indicates no water required and especially good for removing bugs up front. Website seems too good to be true. Anybody out there with comments about the product?

    House Batteries

If I need to replace batteries on our coach I will probably spend the extra dollars on the AGMs that Brett mentioned. No corrosion and longer life . They weigh about the same and if you use 12volt house batteries the are available in AGM type also.
  5. Ray/. Payments in the earlier years of a mortgage on a house or an RV loan or a car loan are mostly interest. Significant principal pay down comes later. Most commonly referred to as add/on interest in the car business. Probably about the same for an RV after all it has wheels on it. Typically a $100,000 home mortgage for 30 years takes 15 years just to get the principal down to $50,000. As young marrieds, when we could afford it, we mailed in a larger check with our payment coupon and the extra was applied to the principal. Had our thirty paid off in twenty. Don't know if it still works that way, or if you could do that with an RV loan.
  6. I use an iPad so on this site I don't seem to be able to post a hyperlink or pictures. Type this link into a search window for some worthwhile info on the thread topic. ( rv-dreams-journal.com ) Remember you are not buying something that will hold it's value. Look at Ray's (huffy puff) plight. In our case, we are debt free so I take the standard deduction instead of filing a schedule a. The few deductions we do have don't justify itemizing. We paid cash. Maybe I will dust off my Lenovo laptop.
  7. It is Power Gear. How do I check locking device?. It only kicks out up front. The other roller is on tile.
  8. Have had very good service from the Caterpillar franchise in Grand Junction Colorado and surprised at the reasonable price NAPA offers good products, but our local store is pricey. On occasion ridiculous.
  9. Betty used to take this to her floor at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore on special occasions. In the fridge overnight after done. In the car in morning. She put it in the break room and plugged it in to be ready for lunch. Always a hit. Hot Nacho Dip Ingredients: 1 pound ground beef browned with the sausage 1/2 pound ground hot sausage ( Jimmy Dean or the like ) I pound velveta cheese 1/2 pound sharp cheddar cheese 2 small cans chopped green chili peppers 1 medium onion chopped 1 medium to large tomato chopped Add ingredients to crock pot on low heat stirring occasionally.
  10. Betty has a recipe for seven layer bean dip. The best bean dip ever. A large baking dish full of that and some nearby Tostitos Scoops might be appreciated. One of my favorites.
  11. Been through Alpine Texas. Might have to wait for Extreme Simple Green in Odessa. I did it one to one.
  12. Fan blades making contact with the shroud definitely not normal in my thinking.
  13. I know nothing about your system. Posting is low today because of the Holiday I guess. Can you hang in there? I will send a PM to a friend on this site. There is a site very favorable to Tiffin owners on the web. Look for it. Good Luck. Hope you have an electric heater for the bedroom.
  14. Is your coach a bath and one half ? If not, why isn't your toilet over the black tank? Kinda normal I think. Just asking. If it is, why would you need a macerator toilet? Replace it with one that works. The old fashioned kind.
  15. There are a lot of really nice DP's out there for significantly less money than a new gas powered coach. Might have to spend a few thousand upgrading them, but I would not do it any other way. We owned a gas powered 34 footer for many years, and never felt like low rent. Park next to us now and you are a fellow traveler.
  16. We love Subarus. Has management figured out if 2016 Subarus with manual transmissions are towable four wheels down? If the 2015s are, why not the 2016s? Unless you need a rough and ready Jeep, it is a great car to tow. The number of towable vehicles seems to be on the decline.

    Oil Bath Hubs

They are often enjoyable after the original question has been dealt with. Dealing with grease packed or wet hubs really is kind of basic. They both work quite well. Large trucking companies with far more to lose than one of us will decide on one or the other, and service accordingly.
  18. Our two slides are electric. Herman suggested possible adjustment of the offending roller. There have to be two because the roller that seems to be the problem is well forward of the center of the slide. Now you mention a loose roller on a previous coach. Guess I better get out the digital inspection camera that I bought because Joe and Ray were proud of theirs. So much to be learned on this website! Thanks Carl.
  19. Thanks Herman. I will do some research. Opinions welcome.
  20. Good to know about Knoebels. Popular place but now not on my list. Have friends that have a family rally there every summer. They all pull fivers or travel trailers. Bet they are fun to level.

    HEST Lamp Came On

Carl/ time to trade for an older high end low mileage unit?
  22. Shoot! You will screw up your absorption refrigerator??
  23. Our front driver's side slide was kicking out just enough to be noticeable by a critical eye. One day when I took it in I accidentally left an area rug in the way of the roller. The rug corner was just over the depression left in the wall to wall carpet by the roller. The creep back out stopped. I now leave a small area rug over the depression. Our problem solved. Just a thought that could help others because it helped me.
  24. That is one heck of a big rally. I would want to be one of the first out or one of the last .
  25. Wayne, How often do you add the dish soap and softener to the black tank? I have become accustomed to the sensors not working, but will try the remedy. My toilet is directly over the black tank and there is a certain sound that happens when you know that it really is time. Odor has never been a problem however.
