Joe is way too smart to settle for that. Would probably take threes brews and some brisket from the Stewartstown Smokehouse.😉

We will be buying a mattress before next season. Have two nearby stores. They wil get our business because they deliver and haul the old one off. Younger I am not getting.😊
-
I have heard standard equipment tires on travel or fifth wheel trailers referred to as delivery tires.

Don't know if this fits here, but the topic IS about getting comfortable in bed. Finally bought a My Pillow after watching his adds on Fox News. Queen size with firm fill. Absolutely the most comfortable pillow I have used. Already washed it once and dried it in our electric dryer and it came out fine. There are washing instructions on the Internet. Following their instructions is advisable. We use a front load washer.

Thank you for the reply. Really do hope that you can find a nice park. If you are close to the Tetons and have the time to enjoy the area, you should not miss it. Where are you headed from there? Perhaps I can help?

Wakeeney KOA/ Have been using it for over thirty years. Really easy to get into after the first time. Lots of room. Current owner has the best cable lineup I have seen.. Limon Colorado KOA offers plenty of room also. Colorado Springs KOA roomy but can be noisy because of the Interstate. There are many others good also.

Rich: Gotta be NY state. Upstate especially / the locals expect wet pavement regardless of the weather. Example: I-90 across NE Ohio Cleveland east to NY. PA very slick. Cars and trucks were petrified. I was even a little apprehensive with mucho winter driving experience. Got to NY State and entrance to the thruway was just wet!😳

In our case changing from propane is near impossible. Propane dependent equipment/ water heater, two furnaces, three burner range with gas oven,, and a Dometic fridge that uses propane when no other power is available. The cook top is nicely covered by a two piece hinged Corian cover. Previous owner did a lot of stuff with grand children. Oven baked pizza probably a requirement.

Have been to Jackson and the Grand Teton National Park, but not in an RV. The park is stunning. Well worth extra effort to find a nice RV park. The area is really "high rent" ,and that could be why the RV parks are marginal. The cost of doing business!! Check parks in Victor Idaho for something acceptable and drive your toad to Jackson and to the Park. US20 and US26 are good to drive. Have used both over the years. Try this/. TETONVALLEYRESORT.COM

Goodness/ I must be a dinosaur. I like propane fired appliances. When you don't have power, you can still cook without having to run the genset.

Have XZE on our Phaeton. One of the reasons I bought XZE is that a new tire would be easier to find in the event of a failure.

Joe/ How about parts pricing? At the public garage that I used for my commercial truck, I never paid full retail on any parts that they installed. Probably next level down. Can that be used to get RV repair costs down?
-
Thom, You will have $4k in major parts plus odds and ends. You mention $7k total? Many shops use a flat rate manual for labor costs. Always despised that procedure. Another $3K? Whew!!!!
-
Is that the same engine that is used by Ford? If so, that is a lot of money for a frequently used part plus labor. Thought about buying a Ford diesel. All the more reason to follow a careful shutdown procedure.

The steering axle weight rating and actual weight seem quite high to me. Way over anything I have put on the trucks that I have driven and 80,000 gross without special permits are max. What do the sidewalls on your tires indicate max weight?
-
Who is giving you the $3000 price? That seems way above normal.
-
Just a guess/ Firestone was purchased by Bridgestone? I run Firestones on my F-150. Ran Goodyears on my steer axle ( last truck/Western star ) and Bridgestone on the drives for the last set before retirement. Both brands served well, and I had permits for 90 thousand in MD and PA for containers out of Maryland piers. Even got a little bit over 90K a few times. I mention this because there isn't a lot of difference between tire loading on big RVs like Carl's or Richard's and my "large car." That would be with a normal load. Not one of my 90K specials.

Steel Pistons in my system never rusted. Oshkosh/ John Deere chassis with four wheel disc brakes.Flushed the brake fluid and replaced it with fresh annually. Would need moisture in the system to enable rust. Brake fluiid is hygroscopic. We traveled the mountains of Colorado so I took no chances. Reccommend the old fashioned steel. Monarch, Wolf Creek, and other famous passes with just common sense and a well maintained brake system. Now I am fortunate enough to have air brakes and an exhaust brake.

Richard/ I have at least six pounds of R-12 . You are welcome to them . R-12 just works better than the newer stuff.

If you decide to take matters into your own hands., snug the adjuster up and then back the adjuster off about 1/2 to at most 3/4 of a turn. Whoever told you to jack the axle up does not live in the real world of 22 inch wheels.🤔🙄 Was done the way I described before auto slacks existed ( yes I am older than dirt ). The Bendix brand can be damaged if you don't release the operation of the accompanying pawl by lifting it up or out with a screwdriver before backing the adjuster off 1/ 2 or so turns . Has always worked for me before and after auto slacks. JACK UP THE AXLE FOR BRAKE ADJUSTMENT 😂 Gotta be kidding!
-
Automatic slack adjusters have been mandated for many years. If they are not kept properly greased, they will eventually no longer be automatic. They can be manually adjusted, but you have to know what you are doing. One type is easily abused by a well meaning do it yourselfer.
