Carl, I didn't bring up Nashville, Rick just said he had trouble getting thru there. I am watching weather and will decide what way we will go from Memphis. More than likely we will go southwest towards Dallas. However the steak that Biil mentions does sound mighty good! Roland

Bill, I am just looking at future weather, am going to Memphis and decide from there. I know as you have said that further north route is more likely to have bad weather and more than likely will go towards Dallas. That steak does sound mighty good! Campgrounds around there have free limo service to the restaurant. I am using 5 different weather sites so hopefully I will catch everything. Just getting anxious to get going. Roland

If the weather forecast holds we may take I 40 to Amarillo, from there are the roads good to Lubbock and I 20? I don't think we want to try Albuquerque and Flagstaff. This route would save about 250 miles. We plan to leave 1/23/2016 from Michigan. Roland

We plan to leave the 23rd of January. Have reservations in Phoenix for all of February. We are allowing travel time and maybe a short stop in Memphis if weather allows. Roland

It all depends on weather, we might go straight south and then would go thru Nashville but if we can we will go thru Indianapolis and get 57 in Effingham Illinois to 55 and Memphis.

We will be coming from Memphis.

Hi Bill, I was wondering about the condition of the road and drivability. Any recommendations as to campgrounds? Depending on weather this may be the way we go.

I just replaced steer tires which were Michelin with Firestone tires and so far they seem to be fine. I will know more in a few weeks as we will be traveling from Michigan to Arizonia . My bill was $900 out the door from truck tire store.

Would it be better to use the generator or propane for the water heater and refrigerator while driving? Right now the advanced weather forecast seems to be in our favor from Memphis on to Phoenix. I just got a pair of Firestone tires in that size for $900 out the door. Bought them from truck store. This is a brand that is available all over the country. I only have driven them about 100 miles but so far as good as the Michelins that they replaced.

In reference to supplemental heater such as a small ceramic heater. Are they safe to use in water pump bin when parked? My water tank gets heat from furnace. I typically drive 62-65 mph for around 6-7 hrs but for first 2-3 days will drive longer to avoid weather.

We live in Fenton and I thought going towards Memphis instead of St. Louis might give us better weather. I will make final decision when we leave, towards the end of January.

When traveling in the winter with the high temperature in the teens to twenties, do you drive with the furnace running? We plan to head straight south from Michigan towards Memphis and will then decide if we need to go further south or can start west towards Phoenix. If you do leave the heat on, can you put water in the fresh tank? This is our first winter trip, so we have a lot to learn.

I am getting a new tpms and am interested in the TT or TST. Any imput would be appreciated.

Anyone carry a stepladder attached to the motorhome roof ladder? We are going on an extended trip and I want a stepladder to wash Windows. No real room in coach or basement.

When starting a Diesel engine (Cat C7 ) that hasn't run for 3-4 weeks in cold weather should you depress the accelerator pedal or not? Engine is 2005 model.

Got new front tires yesterday and had them set at correct pressure. Seems to handle better, only slight fidget now. Is it still advisable to get alignment ( 2 or 4 wheel ) ? Old tires where not worn uneven, just Michelin with cracking. New tires are Firestone.
