When connecting solar panel to battery will it be connected to charger/converter? I have a Xantrex 480 inverter. Would proper hookup be solar panel to controller to chassis battery to maintain over winter? Since chassis batteries are hooked up to inverter will this also charge house batteries?

Bill, any thoughts about taking rt. 54 out of El Paso to rt. 404 to I10. Saw somewhere this was less mountains?

We plan to leave the 20th of January, we are going south to Nashville and will decide then based on weather. Went 40 to Little Rock last year and then 30. Roland

I would appreciate recommendations of a campground near I-20 southwest of Birmingham Al. We will be leaving Michigan in a week and may have to take this route depending on weather. Have traveled I-40 from Memphis in the past but weather was milder. We are heading to Arizona. Thanks in advance, Roland

Thanks all for the help. After talking with the folks at Renogy and going thru my current system I ordered a 100 w panel and controller, it is expandable if I should want to add more panels. Again thanks for the input. Roland

If my main goal is to maintain charge in the starter batteries do I need to hook system up to inverter charger? Renogy has a system and connection diagram has optional connection to converter as well as battery. It is a 100 watt system.

Rich, I have seen some solar panels that can be plugged into a cigarette lighter receptical. If that receptical is live from starter batteries could this be a system to maintain charge? I park outside and with our snow, a panel I could hang would be ideal. For this purpose would 10-15 watts be sufficient? Thanks, Roland

Thanks for the help! Perhaps the best solution is for my wife and I to leave earlier to head southwest.

If you do cut off chassis battery will you have trouble with the engine computer/transmission?

When storing our mh in winter the chassis battery looses charge. There is a shutoff switch at the door I turn off but doesn't seem to make any difference. When the roads are clear I go out and drive mh 50-75 miles. Problem is that here in Michigan we normally have snow. I have a cutoff switch for house batteries and wonder if I should get one for chassis batteries. Coach is stored without any electrical hookup.

We need to get one of these for my wife. Want something that can be placed in the back of my toad and not to heavy for me to lift. Any advice would be appreciated.

The ground fault plug in the bathroom went out when daughter in law used her hair curler. Would not work after. Lights in bathroom and water pump work. Strip plugs in kitchen don't work. All the fuses are good and breakers are okay. I replaced the ground fault plug with no luck Any thought of what else to check? Do the breakers need to be reset? Thanks, Roland

What do you consider a high grade water filter? Where do you purchase this?

I have used this app and do find it useful as an adjunct to my GPS. Helps to lay out the day's travel. Has functions to help keep cost records and driving range.

I have a 2015 Jeep Cherokee that has the wiring harness which was installed at no charge by Jeep. I never experienced the wobble with over 8000 miles of towing before installation. I have since towed several full days of over 7 hours of driving and never had a battery problem and I do not have a coach supplied battery feed. The Jeep has been an excellent SUV.

It is the Freightliner XC chassis.

It has 77000~ miles. Do you mean the sway bar bushings or bell crank?

I have installed a steering plus stabilizer and new shocks on my mh and still have a 1"-2"play in the steering wheel when going down the road. I had the alignment checked also. Any thoughts on what else I need to do to eliminate this or is it something I need to live with?
-
We had the opportunity to make a 400 mile trip with the new shocks and I do feel they made an improvement. I need to check the sway bar bushings next.

Anyone have experience with this product: http://www.winegard.com/rayzarz1? In particular the one that is the head only attaching to existing mast. Roland

I got the new shocks installed yesterday, 50 mile trip home ride seemed better. Will test them this weekend as we are going to Mackinaw City, a 270 mile trip each way. Got Bilstein shocks. Roland

My Bounder comes with the same type. They are a German made product. I am replacing mine with Bilstein. Roland

I have ordered the Bilstein shocks. I have two options for instillation, a local shop that works on larger trucks and has a good reputation or driving 50 miles to the shop that does my maintence. Thoughts?
