  1. Here's the link to RV Glass Solutions website. Phone number is 888-777-6778 http://www.rvglassexperts.com/ Blake
  2. Check-out this website. They have a lot of wrecked Monaco coaches. From pictures there's plenty of doors. http://rvexteriorbodypanels.visonerv.com/cgi-bin/f/monacomotorhomeparts.pl? Blake
  3. Talldog, Bummer....you gotta love some of those repair places that think a crowbar and hammer will fix stuff. Did they try to oil the top and bottom latching mechanisms? When our Windsor door starts to get tough to open I squirt a bit of WD40 in the latches and that has freed up the door every time. Blake
  4. Got to thinking about what Joe said above that when his drain lines plug up the AC condensation runs on top a the roof then down the sides of his coach. Given that OP is experiencing water entering from vent fan and antenna another solution, along with clearing the condensate lines, is to reseal where water is entering. I use Dicor but nephew just did his with Flex Seal and seems to be working A-Okay. Blake
  5. Sounds to me that your condensation drain lines are plugged up. If you have the ability to get on your roof, remove your AC covers and blow some low pressure air into the drain lines that may solve the problem. If you can't do that, call and AC repairman out to help. Most AC guys have small gadgets that use a CO2 cartridge that can clear the lines. Blake
  6. Joe, Thanks for the information! I was just wondering the other day how much longer I will be able to ride on the original airbags. Very helpful!!! Blake
  7. Are your grey water and black water dump valves connected into a common drain for your sewer hose? The tanks could equalize if the valves are open or leaking by. Have you used sink or shower water to clean whilst on the road home or while at home? Blake
  8. Yes.....you can change out the ball to 2". We have the same dolly. Blake
  9. Bruce, Your JPG files didn't come through. Blake
  10. David, Our Roadmaster tow dolly has electric brakes. Although we haven't used it in years we never had problems with it and was simple to operate. I've had surge brakes on other trailers and the only downfall I see with those is that when going downhill the brakes would sometimes engage when I didn't want them to. During those times I could feel the trailer "tugging" me. I agree: no brakes is not an option! Blake
  11. Trialdog, How much space do you have between the top of the slides and ceiling when the slides are in? One thing we do when traveling, when it's hot and we have to run the generator for A/C, is close the bedroom door to keep engine heat towards the rear of the coach. Sometimes we run the rear A/C when on the road but it really doesn't keep up with the heat the engine puts out. When we pull over for the night I open the engine compartment until the engine cools down. Blake
  12. Well....I still have my old timing light and dwell meter if you want to borrow or need help. I've had several 454's, and have built a few, but that was a long time ago. I'm at I45 and Research/Tamina area. If you'd like to turn it over to a mechanic, Ross at Town Center Automotive and his crew are really good. He has an old timer mechanic (Lonnie) that knows his way around engines. Blake
  13. Steve, Thanks for posting and welcome to the Forum! In my opinion, the top expert for installing new flooring is Ernie Ekberg (alias "Erniee" on this site). He has done our coach and repaired some water damage in the subfloor. Excellent results and super nice guy! He's not far from you in Weatherford Texas. Blake
  14. Nope! We enjoy all things outdoors and I could go on forever talking calibers and the tools that shoot them! I was including myself in the Texans comment. Hehehe
  15. Hi Mark, Welcome to the Forum! With your budget I think you'll have a lot of options open to you. Here's my two cents. We currently have a 2005 Monaco Windsor (40-10"). We love it except wish it had a tag and about 4 more feet. It suited our needs perfectly when we bought it 12 years ago since we were taking shorter trips in and about the mountains out west. Now that we are retired we find ourselves burning up the highways more and traveling cross country often. I think a longer coach with a tag would have suit us better now. As many others would say.....look for a coach that does not have modern emissions and is pre-industry downturn. Quality is much better. You might start by looking at Motorhomes of Texas. Blake

Great....thanks for letting us know! Blake
  17. Roger, Our Norcold started doing the same thing. It was a 2005 with the safety recall switch. Sometimes I would have to reset the switch via strong magnet and other times it would reset on it's own. The switch is a high temp sensor and would indicate fault via a red light (back of the fridge accessible from the outside vent cover). Concurrent with this intermittent issue, my beer wouldn't get cold enough and our food wasn't as cold as it should have been. So, we switched to a residential fridge. Now, no issues with potential fires and cold beer! Search Norcold on this Forum. Blake

Jim, Looking at the pictures, I see that your inverter is rated at 1,000 watts. Which is 8.3 amps. What is the rating of your shop vac? Also, did you have anything else running on 120v at the same time? If you have an electrical tester you may want to check the fuses. Sometimes visual doesn't indicate correct condition. Blake
  19. Jason....back to your generator....what size are your air conditioning units? Blake
  20. Hehe...note the Texans are interested in the Desert Eagle!!!
  21. Ah....sounds good Jason....please let us know what you find. Now I'm trying to figure out what you're shooting in the pic of you! Blake
  22. Lyle and Linda, We parrot Herman's sentiments and appreciate your posting. After receiving class action lawsuit information regarding our Norcold 1200, and reading of the other horrors about fires, we immediately started planning to have a residential refrigerator installed. So, that work is done and we have a great residential fridge now. Interestingly, the cost of the new fridge, modifications and new pure sine wave inverter wasn't much more in cost than a new Norcold or Dometic. Plus, we have a lot more space. Did you receive info about the class action lawsuit? Blake
  23. Jason, When your generator is running and you put a load on it, for example an air conditioner, does the generator sense the load and increase RPM's? If not, you may have an issue with the demand controller. Blake
  24. deckerwh, Thanks for posting on the Forum! I'm picturing what you encountered as a "Y" type intersection where you were angled to the left? If so, I can't think of anything that would really help in this circumstance other than a convex mirror. Auto Zone, Pep Boys and other parts suppliers carry them. They are made with double stick adhesive that applies directly to your existing mirrors. Another potential solution is to change out your mirrors and get the type that split. The upper is used for normal travel and the lower is more convex for wider view. In situations such as the one you encountered, I usually angle my vehicles so I can see both directions of travel. Even if it doesn't follow the natural curve of the roadway. But, I've had to ask Deb or my passenger for help on many occasions. Blake
