    FMCA Plates

While we are talking about plates, thought I would share how I mounted mine on the back. I can't take credit for this idea, I saw it on here but I forget from who or where. I don't have the one on the front yet and I'm dang sure not drilling any holes. Like to see how some of you guys did your front egg as to give me some ideas. My back egg is mounted up against the bottom of the step so it doesn't interfere with using the ladder at all. 1" angled aluminum bought at Lowes. A couple pipe clamps and hardware to mount the egg. All stainless of course. Not sure how I'm going to do the front one so Fellas, show me your eggs. Wait a minute, that didn't come out right. Some of you, if it wasn't for the gutter, your mind would be homeless.
  2. We went thru Utah in Spring of '17. Didn't get to spend as much time as we wanted so we will def be back. We stayed at the KOA in Cedar City. Saw Kolob Canyon and also the petroglyphs at Parowan Gap. Here's a few pics. The first 2 are Kolob Canyon and the rest are Parawon Gap.
  3. Staying at Ft Bliss RV park, El Paso. Two good size pet areas, no fence. Dog crap everywhere. One of the biggest problems I see is the permanents and I've seen it at a lot of campgrounds. I guess when you go from RV'ng to low income housing, you don't have to obey the rules.
  4. Just did a search. Google says it's still there and open till 3pm. We'll put it on our list. Thanks Herman
  5. Found this spot thru the freecamping dot net site. Makes a great stopover halfway between Tucson and El Paso. It's actually better than we expected. Not sure of the height of the entrance gate but there is an entrance to the left of the gate that is open and we came in that way. There are multiple sites here with BBQ stands, picnic table all under a covered pavilion. Very private and secluded. NO HOOKUPS. There was another Class A here so we pulled in behind them and still had plenty of room. Going to keep this place in mind and will def be using it again.
  6. This link might help you as well https://outsideourbubble.com/secure-private-rv-wi-fi-and-making-a-better-park-connection-for-under-100/
  7. Go to your dashboard, click on the events tab. On the drop down menu click on "about events". Gives a little history of the FMCA and at the bottom, there is a place to click for the count and location at every convention. One of the pics that comes up is the Cajun Cruisers. You in that pic Carl?
  8. They say if you want to improve your fishing, you need to get rid of that day job. Same goes for RV'ing. Here's to the day you can walk away. I'm still an FNG but always a fast learner with the help of these guys. We are actually looking at getting some upgrades done in IN before heading back west. The coach is great, drives like a dream but after just a couple years of living in it we've got a list of some "must have's" and a bigger list of "Like to have's". Budget will decide on a lot of it. Maybe we will cross paths
  9. Perry wasn't doable with our plans so we set our sights on Gillette. Now, with having our storage unite in PA burgled, we have to go back to the farm in June and will be there till end of July or Aug 1st at the latest. So that shoots Gillette down. We will be going to the Midwest rally in Amana Iowa in August and hopefully be able to catch more rallies and events as we go. Where and when will the next Natl, Conv be? Thanks Herman for the info and thanks Jim for this post
  10. Here is Sweetie Pie with her mobile security system. Just thought I'd share. If you see us walking around, feel free to say hello (from a distance at first).
  11. I had a Craftsman 1/2" ratchet that failed on me about 15 years ago. Took it in to Sears for a replacement and the dude took a rebuilt on off the rack by the register. This thing looked like somebody kicked it across the floor a few times. I refused to take it and said where is my new one? Said they don't do that anymore. Got the store manager and went around with him for a few times but he eventually went over and got a brand new one and handed it to me. Maybe just to get rid of me but I did get a new ratchet. Thanks
  12. I agree, had some old stuff that was handed down to me. May not be the prettiest but they sure do get the job done. Thanks Herman
  13. No, I wouldn't be willing to pay.
  14. That's good to know Herman, thanks. We are new to the Famcamp deal also and are staying at DavMo in Tucson AZ now. Been in overflow for 3 weeks but that is by choice. Got solar on the roof and I'm backed up right next to the toilet/shower house. Plan on stopping at Ft Bliss on the way to Rio Grande Valley. I heard it is a real nice camp. It's off base so the Gold Pass card will get us half off the price.
  15. I can tell you one thing, forget about Nevada Treasure. It has gone right down hill in a big way. Was there this winter. Wifi is crap, trees need trimmed, not big rig friendly, no mtce dept to speak of. Half the machines in the gym are broke. Worse thing about this park is it has a bar on site and which is attractin a lot of permanents that don't have to worry about getting a DUI. They can trash their site, let their dogs crap everywhere without picking it up and they can go get drunk and stumble home. If you want to talk to the manager, you'll have to go in the bar, that's where he is most of the time.
  16. That's good to know if I happen to pick some up at a yard sale. Thanks
  17. Don't have much experience with the Kobalt but sounds like they deserve a second look. Pretty much grew up with Craftsman but they never did make a good power tool. Like you, Milwaukee Red for sure. When I was doing security work, I made some of my own tools as well. Thanks Carl
