  1. It's called "Bonded Leather" and doesn't last. I have a friend that bought a new Newmar Dutch Star in 2015. All of his seats did that in the first year. He ended up getting the front seats re-upholstered and they completely replaced the rest (both couches and the dinette seats) but it took a couple of years to get it all done.
  2. If the Microwave is in a slide I would check the connections (two) between the slide and the chassis first for loose connections. I have seen the wire nuts come loose between the solid and stranded wires.
  3. FYI, Got this Wednesday: UPDATE: Wide-load restrictions and lane closures scheduled to begin May 29 on Interstate 15 in Arizona through Virgin River Gorge Expect delays between Mesquite, Nevada, and St. George, Utah and a 224-mile detour for loads wider than 10 feet. The Arizona Department of Transportation advises wide-load haulers and other drivers to plan for around-the-clock restrictions on I-15 through the Virgin River Gorge beginning Wednesday, May 29 and continuing through spring 2020. All loads wider than 10 feet must use a 224-mile detour route as crews repair three bridge decks along the narrow highway in northwestern Arizona. Other drivers should plan for delays and allow extra travel time while a section of I-15 is narrowed to one lane in each direction. Wide-load detour: Signs will direct wide-load traffic to the detour route of US 93, Nevada State Route 319, and Utah State Route 56 between Las Vegas and Cedar City, Utah. North- and southbound I-15 will be narrowed to one lane between mileposts 13 and 16. Because of the terrain within the Virgin River Gorge and the narrow width of I-15, crews must reduce the width of travel lanes to 10 feet during construction. This will make I-15 impassible in the 3-mile work zone for vehicles wider than 10 feet. Crews will also move traffic over to one side of the highway while working on the other, providing one travel lane in each direction. The $6.4 million project will rehabilitate three bridge decks on I-15. Work is scheduled to last at least one year. Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
  4. I am curious to know where you saw "The pass before you get to St. George looks pretty rough". As there is no "Pass", just a curvy section of interstate 15 through the Virgin river gorge. Been through there many times and went through there a week ago. No steep grades, about an 800ft elevation gain in 30 miles. Just an scenic 55mph drive.
  5. I used to tow a 2012 and there was nothing about disconnecting the battery. I just downloaded the 2011 Owners Manual (7th version) and there is nothing about disconnecting the battery. Exactly where are you seeing this?
  6. I have had the Pilot/Flying J card for years and always fill up, never had any problem at RV or Truck pumps. I always plan ahead to stop at Pilot/Flying J whenever possible.
  7. My 2012 Monaco Knight has one. What a great idea for a rear radiator Motorhome which is like a big vacuum under the engine trying to suck up everything into the radiator. While it won't cause a problem to leave it off. There might be a time where it could prevent something (like a tumble weed) getting sucked up into the fan
  8. The big rig parking for Hoover Dam is on the Arizona side and is "hit and miss". I suggest you drop the trailer in town and drive out in the pickup.
  9. Yes, the security software (Norton) is doing it's job. Note this is not on the website, it's embedded in the e-mails. I only shows up when I open a FMCA e-mail, no others.
  10. For the last few weeks every FMCA e-mail has triggered my virus protection program stating a "Malicious Domains Request" has been blocked. Please remove. 11. There are very few RV parks in that area. A good search tool is RVPARKREVIEWS.COM
  12. My engine ECM stores the mileage along with too-numerous-to-mention other information including fuel usage since it was new. Maybe a visit to a service facility for your engine and have them read the ECM data to see what is stored in it.
  13. Years ago I had a 2002 Bounder where the slide controller failed. In my opinion the controller was just too light duty. I replace both controllers with ATV Winch Motor Reversing Solenoids and never had another problem. This is the one I used but there are others. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KGICYAA
  14. I have traveled that route many times. I-70 west of Denver is one of my favorite routes.
  15. I had the same "cupping" (also called "rivering") with my Goodyears. By 20,000 miles the fronts were so bad I replaced them. At 35,000 the rears were do it too but at 6 years old I replace them too. Replace all with Toyo's and no odd wear so far at 48,000.
  16. I had my roof A/C fins flattened by hail a few years ago. I just spent a couple of hours on the roof with a fin comb and a plastic putty knife and straightened them myself. It's not difficult but it is tedious. I would think any good A/C shop could do it. As for the radiator, once it is accessible it would be the same procedure.
  17. Definitely worth a stop. During the summer months they have guided tours. ERB-1
  18. As others have noted, US491 out of Gallup then west on US64 out of Shiprock to US160. Because you don't want any steep grades you need to continue to Kayenta then US163 to Monument Valley. If you use US191 to get to US163 and enter into Monument Valley from Mexican Hat you will need to do a 10% grade coming out of Mexican Hat. If you plan on traveling the west you really need to get used to steep and curvey roads otherwise you will be missing lots of cool places.
  19. The wandering you describe is an all too common issue with the original Monaco Roadmaster chassis. If you have a Shepard steering box it should be replaced with a TRW adjustable box, then the addition of a watts link on the front axle and cross bars on the rear. All of these modifications and success stories are on iRV2's Monaco forum. I did it and am very happy with the results. None of the add on steering stabilizers will repair the problem.
  20. FYI US95 does not go to Lake Havasu City or Bullhead City, AZ95 does. US95 north of Blythe is in California where AZ95 is in Arizona.
  21. All towble 4 X 4's use the neutral in the transfer case not the transmission so it does not make any difference which transmission is used.
  22. Manholt, A 2013 Holliday Rampler is NOT a Freightliner chassis, it is a a real Roadmaster chassis. The OP didn't state the length or model so we do not know if it is a 8 or 10 bag.
  23. I have a 2012 and have had zero problems with the Smart Wheel. Have you contacted VIP (VEHICLE IMPROVEMENT PRODUCTS) for help? http://www.vipwheels.com/
  24. I purchased the repair kit and tools from Amazon.com https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00303EG7M/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
