  1. Ivy, Jim covered things well! I would add that there is a possibility of some rust build up in the fuel filter that could be limiting you fuel flow is it moves around in the filter. They can be difficult to remove if you fuel lines have rusted around the area of the filter connections. So you could look for the inline filter generally located on the drivers side frame rail about half way between the front and rear axles. Spray them with some penetrating oil. Not WD-40 in this case, need something that will leave a heavy oil film. The second thought is to run some Injector cleaner through the system. I do like Lucas, it is more of an oil based product. 5oz. treats 25 gal. The Ethanol tends to dry out the "O" rings in the injectors and it makes a good top oil for the cylinders. If its going to do the trick, one needs to drive at highway speed of about 15 min. and you should notice a difference. Will not fix a dirty fuel filter though. Rich.
  2. John, working is always good. Should the problem come up again and removing then reinstalling fuse 2 allows you to start the unit. I have a feeling there is a diode in the start circuit that has failed. Rich.
  3. That is not real likely John, and to be honest I did forget there are 2 switches involved. So when it started where did you shut down the generator when you stopped it ? My thought is that is the most likely switch with an issue. Because it started operating normally after that> You did not mention how old the unit is, but the outside switch on the generators is out in the elements. If you have a meter with an Ohms scale. Set it at the lowest setting, with one of them disconnected; measure the resistance across the switch start terminals and between the start side wire that you removed and the common center connection of the switch location you are working at. If there is a difference it the reading(reverse the meter wires connection the center wire to the switch and the one that is removed. Reading change would indicate the presents of a diode in the circuit. Post your readings for the group. Rich.
  4. John, One would think the switch was or is the problem. The fact that the generator started when the fuse 2 was reinstalled, sure sounds like the switch was closed in the start position ; but oxidized contacts could have been masking the problem. Could you post the condition of fuse 2 contacts and the condition of the fuse holder contacts ? Rich.
  5. racer478r, This link might help. http://community.fmca.com/topic/7186-cummins-isl-and-isc-engines-with-caps-fuel-injector/ Rich.
  6. rsbilledwards, The one can replace the seals. The trick is to use some soppy water the make them slide into the grove where the old ones where removed. Think the trickiest part is finding the proper sized seals, as the seals that look alike; but very slightly in size. Rich.
  7. bjgraffis, Welcome to the FMCA forum! In most cases there is a selector box next to the DVD. This is where the Cable, Antenna, DVD and Satellite outputs are connected to the input of the box. If everything is connected properly, one selects the signal source you wish to view on the TV by pressing the appropriate button mentioned by DD69. Rich.
  8. grocedm, I was reading your post in the tire thread and you mentioned that CW said the control panel for your jacks was NLA. Kwikee is part of Power Gear. So the correct part might have a power gear logo and not Kwikee. Could you post the model number of you Kwikee system and include the model number of the control pad for the jacks? This link might lead you to a replacement part. Not knowing you particular model number, you might need some additional information. http://colawrvsalvage.com/product/power-gear-jack-control-box-500630-140-1227-new/ This is a link to the manual for the above control box for you to compare to your pad. http://support.powergearus.com/techdocs/82-L0506.pdf The other system that might be labeled Kwikee are Model # 500674 and 140-1170. There phone numbers are 800-334-4712 and or 888-339-2539. Rich.
  9. Grocedm, Can you supply the model number of your jack system and the Part number of the control panel? Then the group can offer some feedback to your issue. Rich. Note: Could you post your jack question regarding parts in the Leveling Thread. The jack question is not a common question in the tire thread!
  10. eisenmap, Welcome to the FMCA Forum! Have you checked the AC circuit breakers? Do you have a inverter / charger ? What make and Model There is a AC power circuit breaker on the input of some Charger / inverters. Some of the inverters supply power to 2-120 volt outlets in the coach! Do you travel with a volt meter? What is the voltage reading of the Coach batteries when connected to shore power? Rich.
  11. Murmanone, Eaton list synthetic 75W-90 in there Road Ranger PDF file. Rich.
  12. Murmanone, Could you post the chassis manufacture for your coach? Rich.
  13. cfsoistman, Welcome to the FMCA forum ! I checked into to possibility of replacing tires a month ago and was informed that both the XRV and XZE series tires where on a 5 to 6 month back log. Not what one wants to hear ! I like to take advantage of the FMCA discount, but that does not appear to be an option at the time. Rich.
  14. I do wonder sometimes what happened to the KISS theory! The only thought I have is to use a wire tracer(tone generator and receiver) to trace the wire path. One other thing you might try is a video inspection camera to get a better look behind the panel, to see if that allusive fuse could be located that way. When an inline fuse is used ! A point of access needs to be there and my thought is it is behind the panel. That in this case is directly behind the toilet. Is there a panel on the base of your toilet that would allow you to manually operate the flush ? Rich.
  15. Bill, You are full-timing. I still have a sticks and bricks base camp. We have some friends that do travel more then we do and having a 50 amp service available would be a nice extra should they want to stop over. Everyone has a different perspective or thoughts of what is important or useful. We would need to park our coach in another location should we wish to offer a stop over location for others if needed. Rich.
  16. Gay, the 30 amp circuits for coaches consist of a hot 30 amp, a neutral and ground. NO 220 please! The plugs look like dryer connections, but they are wired different!! The post by Jim is a very good option. You need to get the supplies and pay the labor so running one more wire is very cost effective option. 50 Amp = 2 hots 120 volts each (L-1 and L-2) a neutral and ground. Rich.
  17. ObedB, As mentioned by DD69. Many of the cooling fans are bolted directly to the engine, for the ones with the radiator in the rear. On the side mounted radiator units, the fans use hydraulic pressure to power the cooling fans. I can not recall seeing any air operated cooling fans on the RV's The fan speed on the side mounted units is controlled by temperature sensors in the vicinity of the CAC and the radiator and dash AC condenser. There is a fan circuit on some models controlled by the ECM. I need to check and see if I have any information covering the cooling system on your model and year on file. You may want to call the coach builder and ask them if a manual switch can or could be added. Rich.
  18. Thanks Wayne! John has a 2006 39F Itasca Meridian. So now I will look and see if there is a similar relay circuit in his unit. Sure the wiring is very close. Know there is a disconnect solenoid circuit for the 12 volt system. Rich.
  19. Manholt, I can not remember your Coach Model, Eagle, Heritage or Tradition or year Fuse panel could be under the coach near the batteries. Control Module ? Rich.
  20. Regarding the dryer sheets, It may depend on weather the unit is vented or vent-less and the use of dryer sheets. Rich.
  21. ObedB, Did you mean optical output? Might trigger some additional information on what is coming from where and to what audio wise. Would something like this work between the units you are trying to connect? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/dynex-optical-coaxial-digital-audio-to-analog-audio-converter-black/6867159.p?id=1218810049491&skuId=6867159 Do you need to sync up the video and audio? That is tricky! Rich.
  22. Living in areas where salt is used during the winter is definitely challenging. I use A product called Chassis Saver as the undercoat or just leave the item black or silver(color of the paint). It is not cheap ! And one needs to keep from getting on yourself or where you do not want it. Also ! when it drys, between 2 parts, they are like welded together! Kind of like a liquid metal. It reacts to moisture(the catalyst)for it to start setting up. Do not poor any of it back into the can, The remaining paint will set up. Put plastic wrap between the lid and the can before sealing it, or you will not get the lid off with out a struggle! Rich. It wears off ones skin, will not wash off.
  23. Thanks for posting the solution! Very often problems are self inflected or caused when one has the coach serviced. It is real easy to connect something to the wrong point or hide a wire behind something when replacing items. BTDT !!! So I now really try to make good notes and take pictures, but when rushing to fix something. The lack of information still gets me. LOL Rich.
  24. Wayne, Rich- One would think that was the problem. The strange thing is, John has 12 volts whenever connected to Shore power or the Generator is running. That is what I'm getting from his post! By chance did you experience the same symptoms? Rich.
  25. John, found the electrical drawings for your coach. Both the 110 volt AC and the 12 volt DC. Have gone through the 110volt wiring drawing in relation to the 620 EMS system. The fallowing information covers that portion of the wiring, with my thoughts as to what is causing the loose of 12 volts when not connected to shore or generator power. Working from information supplied in your original post !!!! Shore power and the generator power feed the main load center. So the transfer switch circuit has to be working. Circuits L1 and L2 go to 50 amp circuit breakers in this box. The 30 amp circuit breaker in the load center supplies power to the Inverter / Charger. THERE is a switch is the circuit to turn on the inverter. this circuit then powers the inverter / charger. From your post it sounds like you have 12 volts from both the shore and generator supplies. That would mean that the 12 volt charger is working and should be supplying 12 volts and charging the Coach batteries. So, What is the voltage reading of the coach batteries ? Measure the voltage with a 50 amp source(Shore or generator)supplying power to the inverter. What is the reading ? Disconnect the AC feeding the coach. Read the coach batteries volt again. What are you reading? NOW, with no 12 volts DC present, the batteries are bad, connected improperly or there is a wire / circuit not connected from the batteries and the 12 volt power panel. Bad 12 volt disconnect SW. ? not really because you have voltage when connected to an AC source. That fact makes me think there is something wired wrong, somewhere between coach batteries or a circuit / fuse somewhere that is not keeping the disconnect circuit powered. Where is that wire or part causing the problem ! Remember the EMS system is not connected in any way to the 12 volt circuits ! It just manages the AC power load> Rich. Other thoughts. Has someone worked on or modified the AC circuits ? Did someone reconnect the inverter to the EMS circuit at some point? Relay #2 on the EMS unit is powered from a 15 amp circuit breaker located in the inverter breaker panel. There are 5 - 15 amp circuits. Those 5 circuits allow the EMS to shed items when the coach is connected to a 30 amp shore power source and you will only have one AC unit that will run !!! Edit- 7/13. Have you checked all the 12 volt- 55 amp circuit breakers in the main DC power panel ?
