Bill, I have to think that Ray is on the correct path. The fact that you have standard incandescent bulbs and you have the dim flashing of the other lights. Using the the hitch as the ground point can cause the problem. Might just try temporarily connecting a wire from a good ground connection on the light bar to a ground point inside the tailgate, if that does not solve the problem run a ground wire between the coach hitch and the toad, where the draw bar connects. When one uses LED's and they act as described, adding diodes to the circuit(s) help. Rich. Well - Mother nature has used up all her flash bulbs for now, so back to the rack!

The internal resistance of all batteries changes as they age. This link will offer some insight into this issue and covers a number of different battery chemistries. http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/rising_internal_resistance Rich.

Bill, By chance are the lights you are using on the toad LED's ? Rich,

Thanks for the response! Just found this information on the web, CKEditor expects a "/rv:" part in the useragent. After adding /rv:3.6.6 CKEditor works again. Thing is I'm not real strong when it comes to software. I'm using Fire Fox as my engine? Rich.

Interesting problem just came up in the last week. The full editor section will open, but none of the functions work. Highlight, print color, faces, Attaching. Nothing? Rich

747guy, I do have the wiring interface information for the 2003 on file. So if it would help PM me with your personal email and I will forward a copy to you. Regarding the wiring and switch drawings. I think that Monaco would have gotten some information from the seat supplier, but it was not included in there information because they are built off sight. So, if there is a information label under the set, one might be able to locate something covering the switches and a wiring diagram. You posted ! Seat failed with footrest fully extended. Had 13 volts going to the unit from the two wires coming out of the floor. 4 way has no movement. Seat is dead. Removes 4 way switch from side of seat and no power at the checkpoints on the back. Thoughts, Check for continuity between the cable interface between the floor connection and your test points. No connection, then open connection or some form of inline fuse.(Possible in line thermal fuse) Possible cause of your problem, motor overload-high current and heat,-blown thermal fuse inside the motor. They keep items from starting a fire. The thermal fuses can be purchased at many electronics outlets and you might try one of the major electrical suppliers. Rich.

Thanks for the reply and information. There are a fair number of them, so The Gallery might be the best location. It will take time to pull the older information from designated folders and connect the dots by Chassis manufacture and Models. Think creating a file for each chassis and or Model might work the best. Will be in Madison and then take some time an see how the PDF files attach an how they flow. This could prove interesting, but I feel the time will be well spent placing information where coach owners can look. Rich.

Can I post PDF Drawings on The Photo Gallery ? or some where for posterity? I have some older wiring drawings of some coaches that are now almost impossible to find and with limited attachment setting I hate to see them disappear when I'm no longer able to post this information. Rich.

Working Security and maybe carts. See you in about 10 days. OH, I think your PM file is full, PM was rejected. Rich.

Hi Dave Welcome to the FMCA Forum! Glad you decided to join in on the fun! LOL You and the Wife parked next to us in Redmond for a few days. Think your wife may still be making one dish you like in the Microwave. Now I have to ask, are you going to be in Madison for the Rally? Rich

Frank, Have the tires shown any unusual wear? Front end Alignment? Front wheel bearing adjustment or leaking of the wet bearing oil? Have you had the Ride height checked and tested the air ride system for any air leaks? Front suspension bushings or stabilizer bushing unusual ware or loose mounts? Can not remember all the different chassis, but does your coach have a Tag Axle? Any noticeable difference when driving in a cross wind? Have you checked the 4 corner weights on the coach to see how your load is distributed? This would most likely change during your trip, just trying to tie things together. Rich.

MarisaHicks, Marisa, There is one more item that you might check. If changing the filter did not clear the problem and the system is priming, thinking that would eliminate the lift pump. The starting issue-is it after the coach has been setting for a period of time? Should this be the case then you might have a problem the the intake manifold per-heater circuit. This would cause the problem when cold, if it starts when it is hot / warm then this would also point the the per-heater. I did forget to ask this question when you made your first post. Rich.

A&E OneStep1 Motor Assembly, HELP, HELP!
dickandlois replied to rlbarkleyii's topic in Type A motorhomes
rlbarkleyii, You might look around for a small size motor repair shop or Google it and see what pops up and if it is located in your are or in a location you visit. The trick would be to keep the awning locked or secured in place while the motor is repaired or a replacement motor located. Then also getting the required information on the proper process for removing and replacing the part(s). Rich. -
Thanks Brett, Made a change in my post. Real hard for me to except the fact that they would not have parts and need to change the system with what sounds like a Rube Goldberg repair and have the owner have to cover the total labor for the rework. I have a feeling that some other chassis builder just might jump on this one. The fact that the Fred Chassis has a Diesel powered drive train that offer a number of advantages in bridging the gap between the Gas and Larger diesel coaches. Rich.

TexasSkunk, Thanks for the information. I have to ask: Could a Air Brake button and setup, like the ones used on the majority of Class AD coaches be used; instead of trying to come up with a floor pedal? You have air ride and it sure would a lot simpler to make a air cylinder bracket to replace the failed mechanical system. IMHO Well ! Brett just set me straight about no air on board ! My bad !! Would have lost some money on this one. A call to Freightliner Customer service might be in order though and see what is going on. Rich.

Safari Serengeti Control Panel -- Info Needed

char194, Welcome to the FMCA Forum! I sent you some information that might help in a PM. Rich. -
MarisaHicks, Welcome to the FMCA Forum. First, you posted - Removed air filter sprayed ether fired up OK. Ether is not good to use on Diesel engines !!! They are equipped with Pre heaters and the ether could explode and or damage the cylinder(s) The closest thing to Diesel in a spray can form is WD-40. From your information, my first thought is lack of fuel. Possible causes. 1- fuel filters 2- fuel lift pump 3- fuel lift pump relay 4- small leak(s)in the supply side fuel lines to the lift pump. Small pin sized holes in this part of the fuel system will cause hard starting, due to fuel leak back. once the engine is running this is not as noticeable, but can cause decreased performance. 5- water in the water / fuel separator Have noticed any check engine light when it does not start or shortly afterwards ? Rich.

SharDonnay, Thanks for the updates! Looks like you are getting some good information. Just got to ask - Are all the batteries 12 volts. Both the chassis, quite often 2 series 31 in size and connected in parallel. The coach batteries are generally set up with 4-6 volt cells connected in a series / parallel configuration. The 6 volt cells are built to survive a deeper discharge and multiple recharging cycles. Rich.
-
SharDonnay, Welcome to the FMCA Forum! The fact that you smell rotten eggs sounds like the battery's are boiling. Check the coach 6 volt battery wiring layout and the way they are wired! Wrong wiring can cause the batteries to boil, both the chassis and coach batteries. You might want to have them checked quickly because a boiling battery is discharging high levels of Hydrogen. Very Explosive should it is concentrating in an area. You can attach a picture to a post so the group can get a good look at the wiring configuration. If not please have it checked !!!!! The charger / inverter could also cause issues, but first check the batteries because they are also charged by the alternator and you need the alternator when running the coach. One can still use the coach with out the inverter / charger if needed. I do consider this to be a safety issue !!! Rich.

Calnon, Welcome to the FMCA Forum! You might take a look at this information. The flagpole is currently out of stock though. http://www.energyonemfg.com/product.php?productid=35&cat=3&page=1 Rich.

Tomboy257, The comparison of the tires in question has been covered. With all the different threads in the tire section it gets buried. So check this link and the information provided by Brett. Posted 11 April 2014 - 08:31 PM http://community.fmca.com/topic/6825-michelin-xrv-vs-xze-tires/ Rich.

Smarksel, Welcome to the FMCA Forum! Bio Diesel fuel is kind of a double edged sword> They are here to stay and most engines will run fine on them. With ULSD you loose lubricity, but the Bio increases that level. The need for some bio-side being added increases with the blend. The bio blend has the ability to clean residuals from the system, so filters might need to be changed at a more frequent interval's, especially if the engine has not been used a lot between the time when ULSD an LSD change over happened. So if the coach is new to you there is a need to monitor filters and condition of the fuel for a period of time. Also, some of the seals and gasket materials did not hold up well when the ULSD first came on the market - this item caused some problems with fuel pumps and fuel lines. Rich. I see that Brett already gave you a good link to check out!
