Just a note regarding some sizes of Michelin tires! I was in contact with them yesterday and it sounds like they will be available in Canada, early fall and no definite date as to when they will be available in the US. Not what I wanted to hear! Rich.

Herman mentioned the waste gate and you might want to check engine brake is not sticking. Will increase back pressure and that will reduce power. Rich.

Carl, What is the coolant level in the expansion tank? You did not mention an over temp warning on the Silverleaf, you might have a coolant level sensor issue! Corroded connection or just a bad connection. Some coaches have 2 sensors - one near the top and one on the bottom of the radiator. Temp readings are within normal range. Think you just need to keep an eye on things. Regarding adding coolant - need to know the freeze point when adding water or coolant. Rich.

Question for the Tierman ! After looking around at different tires and availability, this is my question regarding the slight differences. The Specifications match the XZE2 series almost number for number. The differences between The Mechilen XRV 235/80/R22.5 - Specs a diameter of 37.4in., Width of 9.2in., Minimum Dual spacing of 10.3. Revs per mile 556. Tire load single 4675@110lbs. Dual load of 4410@ 110Lbs. The Bridgestone R268 Ecopia - 245/75/R22.5 Specs a diameter of 37.4in., Width of 9.6in. unloaded. Width of 10.6in. Loaded. REVS per mile 555. Tire load single 4675@110Psi. Tire Load Dual@110Psi. 4300Lbs. I could not high light the Dual load difference and the Dual spacing are my main concern ! It appears that the advanced functions of the forum are not working on my computer because of the network engine I use. Rich.

Rwitt, Check out this link. it might add some insight. It Covers a step cover with a mechanical issue ans it was powered by a motor not by air. http://community.fmca.com/topic/5088-power-step-cover-in-2006-monaco-diplomat/?hl=%2Bstep+%2Bcover+%2Bproblem#entry30578 Look at post number 8 for the pdf file. phogel, The connections at the solar panels can fail over time. With no load on the solar panel(Unplugged at the connection at the Roof A/C unit, you should read somewhere between 14 to 19 volts with a meter. If you get a reading in that range, the panel is working. So look for a 3 amp fuse in the BCC unit, it could be blown! If it is, replace it and see if you have a Red LED lighting in or near the front AC inside cover. If the LED lights, you now should have a trickle charge on the batteries. This will not be the case if the coach is stored inside or under a roof though. Rich.

tbfreespirit8, See if NAPA can match the switch by looking up A bread truck / Step Van ignition switch. Take a look at this link. NOTE there are some different models. for different applications !! This link should get you to the proper series, then you need to match up style and connection configuration. http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?R=ECHKS6643_0388616017 Rich.

Gwallegro09. Most coaches have a large braided ground wire that connects the engine to the chassis frame rail, no longer the 18in. in most cases. So check the cable ends along with the other connections posted by Brett. The one other possibility is the crimped connectors have a high resistance due to battery acid oxidation. One can mix up some baking soda in a large container and place the cable ends into the container one end at a time or the entire cable if they fit. They will bubble as the acid and soda interact-this action will remove the oxidation enough to lower the resistance. You might want to do each cable on the chassis battery(s) and also the coach cables. BE SURE to take a picture or make a drawing before disassemble so the reassemble is much easier. Rich.

Dorothy, Had to think about your question! Kind of sounds like one of the safety circuits could be the problem. Like the park brake is set sensor or transmission in Neutral. Safety interlocks are nice, but the jack control panels are not self diagnosing. With some additional information gathered by measuring voltages at key points and checking for proper reading on the safety interlocks would help pin down things. The good item is that the system allowed you to retract the jacks. You might try to go through the nominal sequence you use when first pulling into your selected sight. Just maybe things will reset and operate. Rich.

Bill, I have to think that Ray is on the correct path. The fact that you have standard incandescent bulbs and you have the dim flashing of the other lights. Using the the hitch as the ground point can cause the problem. Might just try temporarily connecting a wire from a good ground connection on the light bar to a ground point inside the tailgate, if that does not solve the problem run a ground wire between the coach hitch and the toad, where the draw bar connects. When one uses LED's and they act as described, adding diodes to the circuit(s) help. Rich. Well - Mother nature has used up all her flash bulbs for now, so back to the rack!

The internal resistance of all batteries changes as they age. This link will offer some insight into this issue and covers a number of different battery chemistries. http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/rising_internal_resistance Rich.

Bill, By chance are the lights you are using on the toad LED's ? Rich,

747guy, I do have the wiring interface information for the 2003 on file. So if it would help PM me with your personal email and I will forward a copy to you. Regarding the wiring and switch drawings. I think that Monaco would have gotten some information from the seat supplier, but it was not included in there information because they are built off sight. So, if there is a information label under the set, one might be able to locate something covering the switches and a wiring diagram. You posted ! Seat failed with footrest fully extended. Had 13 volts going to the unit from the two wires coming out of the floor. 4 way has no movement. Seat is dead. Removes 4 way switch from side of seat and no power at the checkpoints on the back. Thoughts, Check for continuity between the cable interface between the floor connection and your test points. No connection, then open connection or some form of inline fuse.(Possible in line thermal fuse) Possible cause of your problem, motor overload-high current and heat,-blown thermal fuse inside the motor. They keep items from starting a fire. The thermal fuses can be purchased at many electronics outlets and you might try one of the major electrical suppliers. Rich.

Thanks for the reply and information. There are a fair number of them, so The Gallery might be the best location. It will take time to pull the older information from designated folders and connect the dots by Chassis manufacture and Models. Think creating a file for each chassis and or Model might work the best. Will be in Madison and then take some time an see how the PDF files attach an how they flow. This could prove interesting, but I feel the time will be well spent placing information where coach owners can look. Rich.

Can I post PDF Drawings on The Photo Gallery ? or some where for posterity? I have some older wiring drawings of some coaches that are now almost impossible to find and with limited attachment setting I hate to see them disappear when I'm no longer able to post this information. Rich.

Working Security and maybe carts. See you in about 10 days. OH, I think your PM file is full, PM was rejected. Rich.

Hi Dave Welcome to the FMCA Forum! Glad you decided to join in on the fun! LOL You and the Wife parked next to us in Redmond for a few days. Think your wife may still be making one dish you like in the Microwave. Now I have to ask, are you going to be in Madison for the Rally? Rich

Frank, Have the tires shown any unusual wear? Front end Alignment? Front wheel bearing adjustment or leaking of the wet bearing oil? Have you had the Ride height checked and tested the air ride system for any air leaks? Front suspension bushings or stabilizer bushing unusual ware or loose mounts? Can not remember all the different chassis, but does your coach have a Tag Axle? Any noticeable difference when driving in a cross wind? Have you checked the 4 corner weights on the coach to see how your load is distributed? This would most likely change during your trip, just trying to tie things together. Rich.
-
MarisaHicks, Marisa, There is one more item that you might check. If changing the filter did not clear the problem and the system is priming, thinking that would eliminate the lift pump. The starting issue-is it after the coach has been setting for a period of time? Should this be the case then you might have a problem the the intake manifold per-heater circuit. This would cause the problem when cold, if it starts when it is hot / warm then this would also point the the per-heater. I did forget to ask this question when you made your first post. Rich.

A&E OneStep1 Motor Assembly, HELP, HELP!
dickandlois replied to rlbarkleyii's topic in Type A motorhomes
rlbarkleyii, You might look around for a small size motor repair shop or Google it and see what pops up and if it is located in your are or in a location you visit. The trick would be to keep the awning locked or secured in place while the motor is repaired or a replacement motor located. Then also getting the required information on the proper process for removing and replacing the part(s). Rich.
