  1. call their ticket office, they can likely find you a spot and will be happy to do so. also, when you say both races are sold out, did you mean the end of July race too?
  2. I usually make plans and reservations in December for the following season. Sometimes I'm too early so they put me on the call back list as soon as sales open up. Did You call the track ticket office directly? Usually the have a few spots open ...
  3. Dan, I for one would really like to see the Michelin tire discount available to Canadian members. This would be next on my wish list. Thanks
  4. If camping in the infield it is Important to consider whether or not you want to party harty day and night, or enjoy the day and race but still get a good night's sleep. Depending on where you choose to park the experience will go from one extreme to another. We find that the cheaper the camping, the more extreme the partying. This tends to be true at most tracks. Pocono is a great track to camp at. We generally go for the RV preferred in the $350 range against the fence between turn 2 and 3.
  5. Ken, the vote to allow towables was far from unanimous on every point. The posts above aren't about making you feel unwelcome rather are about concerned existing members feeling left out and sad and disheartened to see FMCA lose its founding focus. I fully agree with Richard's points and concerns
  6. Almost all FlyingJ locations have RV islands that offer both gas and diesel. A few Pilot locations do too. We generally choose FJ when traveling in our 38 ft gasser. Download the very heloful :Big Truck Stops App" to view travel plazas near you or by state when planning your route. You can select a station to view services such as propane, RV islands, restaurants, etc.
  7. Herman, I think you are starting to repeat yourself....
  8. Do you feel like a "castaway" in your RV? Never! I always feel a sense of unparelled "freedom" to wander and explore the open road ahead. And a sense of being "Home" whereever we are parked.
  9. I don' believe that model/year has a heated basement. I would wait until you are further south in warmer temps. Enjoy.
  10. If you have a heated basement and/or tanks that are heated, you could de-winterize as long as the furnace and tank heaters are on. What year is your Adventurer?
  11. if you have ever camped at a NASCAR race beside folks with generators on the ground or on an outside rack, you will immediately understand why FMCA conventions have put in a restriction on the use of external generators. Whether or not these are in use beside Motorhomes, trailers or fivers, these generally inexpensive big store bought generators lack proper mufflers and are extremely loud.
  12. 65 to 80° ? I'm envious! Hoping to be in the south next year at this time.
  13. All this talk about cleaning and polishing wheels has got me all excited. Don't know if I can wait another month for spring to arrive.......
  14. Hi Brett, my rear rims are Alcoa, PN 873402. According to what I can find on various web sites, they are " Polished inside only", not coated. Thanks for the tip!
  15. Thanks! I'll be picking some up and polishing mine, as soon as the snow melts, that is...
  16. Ours is a 2010, which we bought new off the lot in late 2011. Since then we have put about 40,000 miles on it, about 6,600 a year.
  17. Wow! Tail winds. 22 mpg. Amazing! How come I either get the head wind or side wind? Never the tailwind!
  18. This is odd. According to the chart, if I am reading it right, we would have been charged a minimum of $33. (no tag on our coach) I don't recall paying anywhere near that. Living in Ontario where we often have to travel thru Toronto, we do everything we can to avoid the toll hwys due to their ridiculously exorbitant cost here. Usually about 5 times what the tolls are in the U.S.
  19. Great idea and use of what would otherwise be a wasted space!
  20. $76?? Crossed the GW 2 years ago in the RV with toad, no EZpass, don't recall exactly how much it was but more like a few $$'s, no where near $76....
  21. Timetraveler..is this a typo? 22 mpg in a 39.5 foot coach? Sounds way too good to be true..
