I agree with all sides of this discussion however I applaud any member who volunteers or participates at the rallies. It goes a long way to ensure the future sustainability of FMCA, including the member rallies, benefits, and overall fun! PS, if FMCA didn't make a profit, then there would be no cash to pay for this website/forum for all of us to enjoy!

Many States we've visited have strict laws around the use of ATV's and UTV's on public roads. Many do not allow it except in certain areas. in a large number of tourist areas they are not allowed. You could always check the local DOT website for restrictions....

Wear on the outer edge of the front tires sounds like an alignment issue to me. Would suggest getting an alignment done first before replacing the tires.

Our First Extended Road Trip! Ideas?
ianbullock replied to Dalnna's question in Destinations/Attractions
Hi Donna, Yes so many places to go, so much to do! Very exciting. Would heartily agree with all of the suggestions from everyone so far, they have pretty much covered all of my top suggestions. Would definitely suggest you not miss Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon, South Rim. You could easily spend a week at each, so much to see and do. Both have great RV campsites. However would strongly suggest you book online now as these very popular destinations sell out well in advance. (May be close to selling out already for May 2017) As far as where to stay in your 36' Southwind, other than those above, when we travel to parts unknown for the first time, we often count on a KOA in the area. There are several hundred throughout the US. They have a great Online booking site, at http://koa.com. and although not always the cheapest they generally offer a consistent level of services, Hookups, etc.so you know what you are getting. And on your first visit to the area, you can scope out other options for next time. Enjoy! -

Exterior Maintenance - Cleaning and Waxing Fiberglass
ianbullock replied to QuiGonJohn's topic in Chassis
Hi John, Regarding your question, on recommendations for rejuvenating the decals that came on the motorhome, originally supplied from Winnebago, if you reach out to Winnebago directly, at winnebagoind.com/contact, they will be able to supply you with replacement decals. Regarding your question on a general cleaning product that will wash roof, along awnings, etc., I use cold water tide. Yes, Tide, the laundry soap. Not the liquid or pod type, or added bleach type, just plain old fashioned cold water crystals. Half a cup, dissolved in a bucket of cold water does the trick. I use a long handle wash brush to gently wash and simply rinse with my garden hose. It removes all dirt and grim, and rinses off nicely and easily. Has kept all three of my motorhomes (two previous and my current one) sparkling and looking like new. -
I have but only with the battery disconnected as per the owners manual. I tow Chevrolet. maybe the jeep manual omits this instruction?

Demco, Roadmaster or Blue Ox ????
ianbullock replied to RVPA's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
I vote Blue Ox having used both over the years.. -
Hi Sandra, When you say user guide, do you mean owners manual? I have always followed the instructions in the owners manual to the letter and have never had a unexpected problem.

Looks like water damage to me. Would have a qualified RV Tech inspect and reseal roof seams as needed before beginning interior repairs.

Click on the annual Towing Guide on the FMCA website. a large selection of vehicles to choose from... should be no issue finding one just right for you.

Sounds like a battery issue to me. would check batteries, how old are they, check levels, etc.
-
You should have no issues for such a short period.

Basement A/C: 2001 Winnebago Suncruiser
ianbullock replied to Tibbydoll's topic in Type A motorhomes
Not much to do unless it has stopped working. What is really critical is that you change the air filter regularly. You can find it under the access panel under the queen bed. You can buy the air filters at lowes. The unit is a Coleman domestic and the same as Winnebago used until 2010 In many if their models. Contact Winnebago service of you need assistance. They are awesome. -
Back flow preventer on the hot water tank for sure. Same issue on a 2001 Suncruiser years ago.
