  1. Check with Good Sam, their agents will check around and get you the best deal with a national insurance co.
  2. Gettysburg is so big with so many skirmishes, you really need a professional (or a Gettysburg hobbyist) to take you around in order to see everything and how everything ties together. As for the ammo, both the 380 and 9mm came after the Civil War.
  3. Call the county tax assessor, he/she's the one who actually assesses your taxes and to whom you pay. Your motor home (you didn't say which Fleetwood you own) is part of your personal property/ad valorem taxes. Save your pennies, it will be lots more than you think it will be or should be. The only good news is that as the value of your MH decreases each year, if you can call that 'good news,' your tax bill will also go down.

    EFS Card

Took on 110.42 gallons at $3.09 a gallon. Taxes are high in Canton, MS, and Loves prices are outrageous. Next time I'll try Regular rather than Super Unleaded.😜
  5. Biocide can usually be found in marine/boat stores as well. I order mine from West Marine on line.

    EFS Card

The answer to Richard's question above is I was using the EFS card, not the FMCA card. We saved $70, total bill $340, billed $270. If stopping at a P/FJ, you'll save more by having an Pilot RV Plus card....about seven cents per gallon, rather than earning "points'' with an EFS card.
  7. I have an Acurite Weather Station at home in the back yard. Took it in the MH once, and even though we were staying in the same place for a month....way too much trouble attaching it and leveling it on the rear ladder. As others have noted, much easier, and more accurate, using a phone.

    EFS Card

It appears the card is not good in Pilot/Flying J. We stayed in a CG next to a Pilot last week, so I walked over and asked if my card was acceptable....and explained how it worked with Loves. The manager did not know, but called her off sight manager....that manager said our card is good for ''points'' only....no big cash discount.
  9. Don't know about commissaries, but I was in the Fort Campbell, KY, PX today and asked about Exchange access for honorably discharged veterans. At the present time, they can shop on line only....they do not have authority to shop in the stores.
  10. The test strips I have indicate the levels of PPM Nitrate, Freeze Point and pH. The card that comes with them indicates what color equals the level of the three items being tested. So you dip the strip, of three separate pads, in the coolant and match the color on each of the three pads to the corresponding pad's color on the card. From the information provided on the card you can tell if any of the three items are too low or too high. What they do not tell you is how much SCA should be added, if needed, to remedy the the low level as indicated by the test strip. All I've been able to find is that a pint of SCA equals five "units," and one chart on Acustrip's web site, but it did not say what substance they were testing...no help. Is there a chart or some guidance as to the amount of SCA added based on the test? Thanks for the help.

I have three Garmins (one is for RVs), easy to use, lots of options and free life time updates.

    EFS Card

Okay, thanks guys, I'm convinced. Maybe they need to make the verbiage a bit easier to understand. Saying they are going to give me "a $200 advance" doesn't compute. However I think I can live with their limit of 950 gallons of diesel per day.😝
  14. Same here. Also, I would ask specifically if the ISX would be covered due to it's reputation for high dollar failures.

    EFS Card

I just received my EFS card in the mail. In the second paragraph of the PIN instructions it says, "Your first time logging in you will notice a $200 advance. Please note that this is not your daily limit for fuel. This is a cash advance that comes on all our cards in case you need extra cash on you." That makes no sense...they like to say it is a cash "advance" but it is sounds like it is actually a $200 debit of my account. If so, when do we get it back and what if we decide not to use their card, what happens to the $200 they have? I put a call into the company but have not as yet heard back.

    Safe-T-Plus

Wayne....what's it supposed to do for the driver? I had a RF blow out with our previous coach, an AC Allegiance, no control problems at all.
  17. Agree. It's like the old undercoat scam...which some dealers still run. Most of that dealer add on equipment is not needed, and is way over priced.
  18. You mean we are supposed to read all the previous posts??😏
  19. Here's a link that is very useful for comparing sizes: https://tiresize.com/comparison/
  20. I've noticed several posters mention Loves, what about Flying J and Pilot?
  21. Look at it this way, we are paying $50 for membership and $25 for FMCAssist, and hope we don't need the latter.
  22. Get a long piece of some type of stiff but thin material (the small diameter tubing used for drawing trans fluid out would be perfect), and push it all the way in, as far as it will go......pull it out and see what's on the end of the tubing.

    Coach Weights

I weighed my coach last week and came up with some interesting numbers. The axle GAWRs are, front to rear, 17k, 20k, and 12k. I last weighed the coach four years ago. This years numbers compared to the last numbers are as follows, front to rear, F down 1,260#, dually/tag combined up 2,160#, total weight up 900#. The Cat scale said they could not split out the dually and the tag weights. Each time the coach was equipped the same....full fuel, no water, no waste, no clothes/shoes, no food, empty refrig. I can understand the extra weight since the first time I weighed it was soon after purchase and it had some of our "stuff" but not all of it. I do not understand the weight shift and the amounts of the shift...down in the front and up in the back. 900# sounds right with the things we've added, the locations of the decrease and increase do not make sense. I'd like to get a six point weight. Here's what they look like in chart format: 2015 2019 Diff 15/19 GAWR Difference between 2019 weight and GAWR Front 13,340 12,080 -1,260 17,000 -4,920 Rear 30,220 32,380 +2,160 20k + 12k +380 Total 43,560 44,460 +900 49,000 -4,540 All comments appreciated
  24. Moth balls work....don't forget to remove all food out of the RV except canned goods.
  25. As long as your "real" domicile is SD, you're in good shape....wish I was in a lower taxed state. However, if SD is not your true domicile you're taking a big chance.
