These Norcold/Dometic refer problems are all over the internet, on all the forums. Here's a no charge piece of advice....get rid of those POS and get a residential refer. Here's how it works....exactly like the one at home!

We had a very similar noise coming from under the passenger's seat in an 09 AC Allegiance, with a Spartan chassis, we bought new. After numerous checks by numerous facilities, it was discovered there were a number of factory welds missing on that side. Also, the dealer (now out of business), had the coach checked before we bought it, discovered the problem, but neglected to tell us about it.

Care to share the name of the TT, Joe? We had a Montana 5th wheel before getting into MHs.

Of the main ERS providers, AAA would be last on my list. They have a track record of not sending a big enough tow truck or a well enough trained driver, to haul off one of these big rigs. I presently have GS...called them twice, they responded twice with the right equipment, the right guy, to the right place in a timely manner. AAA would be fine for a car/SUV, not a MH.

I signed up, too. Already had made a comment on one of the FMCA threads. This is the slowest forum I'm on....."click and wait."

Yes, it was an 08 tire. Emergency road service replaced the one that blew (an $800 Michelin)...then we traded the coach.

Aren't your Magnums set to let the charge go through the coach batteries and charge the chassis batteries once the charge gets to be 13.3 or higher? That's they way mine work.

My comments were not directed at you...read my post word for word...it says "general comments."

I read where the powers that be are revamping the forum. I hope they can do something about the speed. Clicking on forum and it takes a long time to open. Same thing for a link or backing out of a link. I'm on a number of forums....none are as slow as this one.

I sure hope they don't come up with an alcohol smelling dog in non alcohol states.

Re sun exposure. In Dec 2010 we bought a new 2009 MH. Naturally we did not see it until we'd owned it for a while, but it had been sitting so long facing south, the large wall opposite our big double windows, facing the west Texas sun, had faded. In May 2015, the RF tire blew out.

We had a big time bang not too long ago. It was a small plastic bathroom cup that had fallen down between the slide and the coach.

Agree. However, I log towed miles and total them with the miles driven in order to rotate the tires at the correct time. Honda says to change the transmission fluid earlier, too.

I realize this issue has been solved, but as a point of clarification, that all coaches are not the same, I have a similar plug in the power cable bay for the block heater. However, my plug must be activated by a switch in the rear of the MH. It is a regular wall switch, that glows red when activating the plug in the aft bay.

Some general comments, lots of info here, all is not correct for all coaches: - All 40' and over coaches do not have tags, and a majority of 40' coaches are really about 40'11". - Some tags wheel bases are the same length as their non tag coaches...just more aft over hang. - I would not pay much attention to wheelbase listings on brochures. The correct way to measure a wheelbase is front hub to dually hub. Fleetwood, at least AC, measures front hub to the mid distance between the dually hub and the tag hub. I questioned them on that and all I got was a tap dance.

This side wall cracking is much different and larger than the 'cracks' in my Michelins I noted earlier. My cracks were not longitudinal and much smaller in size, more like a spider crack in a windshield...and not deep enough to get a finger nail or virtually anything else inside. Obviously we are talking about two entirely different types and sizes of cracks. If it happens again, I'll take a picture.

All New 2016 Honda Civic Manual Transmission TOWABLE!
five replied to wolfe10's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
As Brett said, I would not follow "Honda Consumer Line" or a sales person, but do as the manual says, which would be even more reliable than FMCA or Demco. If you have a warranty issue, Honda will quote and believe the manual for that make and model car....period. -
No misunderstanding. The presenter was asked several questions from those of us with Michelins. He reiterated his comments as being the facts as he got them from Michelin. The cracking is not the tires themselves, but the additive in the tire. Many in the seminar remained skeptical, however, as noted in my earlier post, the cracking in my tires disappeared after driving on them. In response to an earlier poster mentioning Michelin replacing them after cracking....I would think they would do that when the cracking would not disappear after driving on them.

The cracking on the Michelin sidewall is not always a "flaw." I recently attended a seminar on RV tires (the presenter was not from Michelin) who said Michelin puts an additive in their tires to reduce dry rot. When parked for an extended period of time, this additive shows up as cracking on the sidewall. However, once out on the road and driven, the cracking disappears. Having noted some cracking on my tires what he said was true....once driven, the cracking disappeared.

I don't normally have a weapon on my person in the MH, but I do have one in the front, one in the middle and one in the back....a 380 auto, 38 revolver and a 40 cal semi auto. I spent 24 years in the Army (two tours in VN) and am perfectly comfortable carrying a fire arm...also have my concealed carry permit. Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. As one of my fellow aviators once said, "better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground." Been in both of those situations, too!

Yep, here's the email for the contact at NIRVC....tcrowley@aimclub.org

Has the company that did the engine rebuild stepped up and paid for the carpet cleaning and offered to pay for the rest of the damage??
-
Understand it's misleading, Rich, but I would think the people running the service end would at least know if their shop is an "Oasis" shop or not.

Freightliner dealers are different all over the country. I asked mine if he was an Oasis Dealer...."a what??"
