Yep, plus all the space you would use to have a standard oven is now a storage cabinet.

If you dump the air the coach should not be too high. If it is too high, does your jack controller give you the option of lowering the coach once level? My Valid has a "four corner lower" button.

Eight Ds are huge, heavy and expensive. I'd compare them with AGM 6 volts.

AGMs are expensive but great batteries. Install them and forget them.

Location Low Water Drains: Thor ACE 29.4
five replied to Jerrycolemanjc's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
I'm not familiar with a Thor ACE 29.4, but on the last three RVs we have owned, if you lie down at the back of the RV and look forward, you should see two lines sticking through the floor, one red, hot water drain, and one blue, cold water drain. -

If still having a problem, call Blue Ox, they are very helpful. -
Diesel Motorhome MPG-- Honest Answers Please

We'd appreciate knowing what coach you have, David, so we'll know the weight and compare apples to apples. That 450 Cummins is a bit smaller than many manufacturers would put in a 45' coach. -
Don't know about anybody else, but our last four RVs have all had slides...be tough to go back to an RV with no slides, and lose all that space.
-
My manual says to put them down for the reasons Brett noted. That's what they are for.

Diesel Motorhome MPG-- Honest Answers Please
five replied to luckydog1949's topic in Type A motorhomes
I just binged it...very interesting. My D/W has a '16 Acura MDX with a nine speed. You can get dizzy watching the tach...nine is over kill on what is basically a passenger car. -
Diesel Motorhome MPG-- Honest Answers Please

Sorry I wasn't more specific, Joe. I know your MH has a 3000...has to be over 450 HP to have the 4000. I was referring to your fleet. -
Blue Ox Aladdin Tow Bar Arm Will Not Lock
five replied to pjfromny's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Is the small locking arm on top of the bar stuck? We had that happen and Blue Ox said to hit it with a hammer...I did and it's been fine since. If all else fails, hit it with a bigger hammer. -

Which transmission do you have, 3000/4000? -
That link has been going around the forums. Foretravel makes a fine coach...but 20 is pretty old.

What Brett said. I had a set of GYs on my former coach, they were dated 08 and the RF blew in May 2015.

I just went through the "does it fit" sequence in the link...doesn't fit my 2014 CRV. -
My AH has the engine heat option, but I've never used it. I always use the electric cord, wired in the back with the power cord. That way I can set it, with a timer, to come on in the early AM rather then run all night.
-
Having had a couple of OEM propane furnaces and two Aqua Hots, I'd hate to go back to propane. The AH provides very warm, powerful and quiet heat to the zones selected...works just like the furnace in your stick house. If it's not too cold, you can use the electric mode, so heating is free. Plus, if really cold and you need to use the diesel burner, it only uses .4 GPH of diesel.

It's a 45T, so yes we have a tag. I don't know the date when it started, but somewhere around 2010 they started putting tags on all the Eagles.

I very seldom run our heat pump. Works okay down to about 40, but very noisy.

Slideout: Outside Air Leaking In Around Refrigerator

Check the corners where the slides meet the coach. Some are very drafty, I carry some rags to stuff in there when it's really cold. -
My DD 500 with the 4000 Allison, gets into 6th gear a little above 55. As for MPG, I wish I got as good as the SilverLeaf tells me I'm getting. When I compute MPG with a #2 pencil (even figuring fuel burned by the generator and Aqua Hot), it's always less than the SilverLeaf. Having said that, I'm looking for lots of improvement....Monday I had the three fuel filters and fuel/water separator changed...to the tune of $410. I changed my own on my Spartan, with it's filter bay...on this Freightliner I couldn't even see them, much less change them.

Based on the the site, some people put the covers on before leveling. Sometimes I unhook one of the sides, loop the other two over the tire, slide the cover on and rehook the last one.
