In a word, yes...every year.

As Brett noted, you need a biocide for sure, especially in Florida, if storing your coach that long. Valvtect is another favorite, all are carried by West Marine. http://www.westmarine.com/buy/valvtect--bioguard-fuel-micro-biocide-16-oz--255739?cm_mmc=PS-_-MSN-_-Shopping PLAs-_-255739&creative=73873452164336&device=c

An AC tech told me the two large lights, located one on each side up near the roof, centered on the coach, are "scare lights."

We are on Splendide number three. The first two were single units, this is a stackable. All have worked flawlessly. The D/W likes the stackable better...slightly larger and you can dry one load while washing another. We have stayed in some CGs where several of the on site laundromats were so dirty, they were virtually unusable.

Yep. However, that was on our previous coach. This one has 315s on the front and six 295s on the rear. This front axle has 2,400 # more capacity than the previous one.

Tradition is a fine coach and you'll get excellent help from the tech assist line...they are the best.

Any will work, I have a Blue Ox. No problems.

Are you holding the button long enough for the locks to retract? The first several times we tried to retract the FWS we also thought it was not working...until we realized it takes a while for the locks to retract and the slide to start to move.

I have one that looks like this one. Got it Wal Mart for $100...we like the wind speed/direction it provides. However, my ladder is not vertical and it takes some work to get the pole straight. Got to be a PITA, so I took it home...it's now in the back yard.

We pulled in to a CG on Sat and our neighbor was in a 1999 Itasca MH. This was his first ever RV, had it three weeks and was on his first trip, Ft Worth to Wisconsin. He was anxious to tell me all about it....how great it was and that he had taken it to a tire dealer to check the tires. The tire dealer said the tires were fine...then the told me they were originals! I showed him the date code on mine and gave him the normal speech about aging out way before wearing out the tread. I very strongly encouraged him to go to a different tire dealer and get some new tires before going any farther north. Hope he did.

Many years ago, we had an inside dually blow out. If it had been a super single, we'd have had a bigger mess than we had...and been stranded.
-
Agree, 295s are hard to find. When we had our blow out last year, we were 50 miles from Chicago and it took GS five hours to find one...for $800. They said the reason it took so long was because the 295s are primarily for RVs. If it was a 315, they would have had one much sooner.
-
My post of 10/6 spells it out...can't make it any clearer.
-
If you remove any type of access cover on any of these RVs, you will find all sorts of junk, trash, pieces of wood, saw dust, pieces of insulation and more.

Yes, I know about Daimler owning DD. Are you saying the DD is a newer version of the Series 60? Here are the numbers for mine: 500 hp, 1,650 ft/lbs of torque and 12.8L...it's used primarily for LTL freight according to their publications.
-
Thanks, I've talked to Joe about it.
-
Do you know what the difference is between a DD 500 and a Series 60? There is very little info on the DD 500, had a very hard time simply tracking down an oil filter.

How Do You Know You Are Clear To Pull In After Passing?
five replied to kaelalynn's topic in Type A motorhomes
You can also use the shadows of the vehicles...depending on where the sun is. After my second VN tour (as a helicopter pilot, first was on the ground), I started fixed wing training. One old crusty instructor told me one way to be sure you are clear of other aircraft when taxiing is to watch the shadows on the ground. If the wing's shadow on our aircraft is not going to hit the shadow of the other aircraft, we were clear. -
Tag Axle and Ride Comfort on Different Motorhome Lengths
five replied to manholt's topic in Type A motorhomes
I guess AC is behind the times...they've used it for the first time, putting it on some '17 models (Eagles and Dreams) as an option. -
There is more to towing than the hitch rating: Tow rating is the lower of: 1. Coach's hitch rating. 2. Coach tow rating. 3. Chassis tow rating (sometimes different than the coach's). 4. The difference in weight between the coach's GCWR and the coach's actual weight when ready to tow.
-
Carl, have you looked at any of the AC Eagles? My Eagle has a DD 500, 1,650 ft/lbs of torque and 12.8L. Although relatively new to MHs, there are thousands out in the commercial truck industry. No issues....yet.

Tag Axle and Ride Comfort on Different Motorhome Lengths
five replied to manholt's topic in Type A motorhomes
Carl, I agree that the chassis is certainly a key part of ride quality. However, I did not consider that in my earlier comment. The Prevost, Newell and similar chassis are not something I'd consider...I don't think my Chief Of Staff would approve funding for one of those MHs. Re the tags, some manufacturers have come out with tags that turn. -
Tag Axle and Ride Comfort on Different Motorhome Lengths
five replied to manholt's topic in Type A motorhomes
The optimum ride would be a 45' coach with a tag. Ride comfort would be reduced on a shorter coach with a tag, and more so with a shorter coach and no tag. That said, I can't see where the very small reduction in ride comfort would even be noticed by reducing the coach length be a couple of feet...as long as you have the tag.
