  1. It is, or at least could be. We'll see how Brett's efforts work out. In the past there was not enough posts to make even worth looking at more than once a month.
  2. I'm a member of that club, but I only go there once a month or so. I've had four new messages last time I checked. Be a great forum if we could gin up more members.
  3. Looks good, but keep an eye on those zip ties.
  4. I like the Rand McNally Road Atlas and Festival Guide. Not only is it reasonably priced and has good maps, it lists all the Walmarts and Sams stores and gives their addresses.
  5. I do the same thing. However, we have some friends with two electric toilets...that use lots of water. They leave the black tank open and have not had a problem with all the water the electric toilets use.
  6. One of the problems with the newer coaches is that they have put in the nice electric toilets, but have not increased the size of the black tanks. In our last coach, with the older toilets, we could go well over a week without dumping the black tank...now it is half that.
  7. Be nice if you could add the make/model of your coach and trailer. These beasts are capable of towing very little to 20k. Get your calculator out and figure what you can tow based on the ratings and your GVWR and GCWR.
  8. Have you tried to reset the system? Push and hold the power button for about 10 seconds, when it beeps it is reset.
  9. Understand, Herman, but we have a long standing policy of giving millions of dollars to countries that hate us.

    Maxxforce Engine

Brett, you have omitted one key factor and player in the coach selection process...our spouses. If it comes between the floor plan she likes or the engine/trans/chassis I like...I lose. However, one day a while back I told her I was going down the MH to change the spark plugs...I got this 'over the glasses look' and she said, "I don't know much about the engine in that beast, but I know it doesn't have any spark plugs!"
  11. This thread is a good reason to have AGM batteries...install them and forget about them.
  12. The problem in ANC is they are running out of room. They encourage "burial" in a columbarium. Eventually they will restrict in ground burials to military retirees/spouses and KIAs. Several years ago, my wife's uncle and aunt died, he was a surgeon in WW II, but not a retiree. Since I was the military guy in the family, I did the leg work with ANC...no problem with a columbarium.
  13. How does 12R compare to 315 or 295?
  14. The best analogy for the AH is that it should run just like a natural gas furnace at home. It should cycle on and off, and when on, blow strong warm air out all vents. Installing the vents where they are blocked by the slides in is incredibly stupid. Thor should make their design engineers spend a week in coaches they design. Another suggestion for the OP is, assuming this coach has a forward slideout generator, is to slide the gen full out. Then go in the gap between the gen and the outside of the dashboard and patch all the gaps in the dash, that are letting air in, with insulation and Gorilla tape. Did that on a previous coach and it was a big help.
  15. I don't fool with these diesels. This is the fourth one for me, and I get nothing but OEM parts. It's not worth screwing something up to save a few bucks.
  16. I keep a number of my lists in my MH "go book"...good CGs, good places for service, good things to see, etc. Angelos is now on one of the lists, not the one they want to be on.
  17. Don't know about Delo, but Rotella carries 6 single gallons per case at my Sams...I need two cases.

    DD 13 Fuel Leak

No, didn't think it was a fuel problem. I had run 800 miles on the same tank of fuel when it lost prime. I quit using Loves several years ago...first they gave me **** for using the 18 wheeler lanes, said I should use the RV lane, which would have blocked the majority of the people parked in front of the store. Then they wanted to know how much fuel I wanted in dollars, and actually ran my card for that amount before I pumped any fuel.

    DD 13 Fuel Leak

My MH would not start a few weeks ago, ran three seconds and quit. Called Good Sam and they sent a tech who got it running by removing and topping off all three fuel filters and adding some fuel to the fuel/water separator in the far back of the engine compartment. Then he primed it and I tried to start it...fired up on the sixth try. It ran fine, but I tried to start it several other times later and it was cranking too long. The tech said it was loosing prime. Took it to Freightliner on Monday. They could not find anything wrong at first...couldn't see a leak and it tested good on the computer. I was in the shop and noticed diesel fuel on the rock guard. Long story short, they kept it over night and pulled the water/fuel separator off and cleaned the gasket and all the fittings and reinstalled it. Test drove it and all is well...except for my wallet. Tech was $165 and Freightliner was $475. The latter includes a $45 fee for use of the computer and a 3% charge for using a credit card. Their rates have increased as well...normal shop rate is $125/hour, RVers get a special rate of $135/hour.
  20. I use Shell Rotella also. Sams sells cases of six gallons...I buy two cases.
  21. Doesn't really make much sense for the AH even to be wired to run off the inverter. On the road, the engine will supply enough heat to run the furnace except on real cold days, then I turn on the burner.
  22. When ever backing or going around sharp corners when parking, I adjust the mirrors so I can see all the way down the sides, including rear tires. Also, always use a ground guide.
  23. When you look at some of the documents those guys wrote back then, they were pretty darn smart. And, the older I get and the more I think about what they wrote, the smarter I think they were.
