  1. I purchased a Progressive Industries EMS-LCHW50 wired surge protector with low voltage protection. Lazy Days has wired it in my motorhome. I am now waiting for a new cord reel. The one ordered was the wrong size so another three weeks to get the proper one. I hope to finally get my coach back by the end of August after dropping it off June 18th!!
  2. Problem solved. I guess the coach was unplugged in the service bay. The tech had plugged it in shortly before I opened the fridge. As Brett stated the freezer gets the coolant first then the fridge. After a reasonable time the fridge was at 38 degrees F at the 5 temperature setting. Thanks for all your advice and suggestions.
  3. Brett and All, Thank you for the advice. Lazy Days is looking into the situation and I will let you all know what the outcome is.
  4. OK this is a new one on me. I was at Lazy Days service center in Tucson inspecting my coach. I opened the fridge and it was ambient temperature. I then opened the freezer compartment and it was cold. I notified L/D tech of the problem. The unit was on with a green light and the temp set at 7. Anyone have any comments or has this happened to them?
  5. We tow a 2013 Honda CRV 4 down with no problems. Just follow the instructions in the owner's manual. The tech that set-up my motorhome and CRV said he does 6 Honda's to any other vehicle.
  6. Erniee, I agree with Brett. Grand Canyon Railway RV Park is very nice and the folks are accommodating.
  7. Mandy, Unless there are no options for you do NOT buy a Palazzo! Just my two cents worth...
  8. I have got to agree with Jim Grove. Thor puts out a lot of product but has virtually no quality control. I know too many campers that had Thor and have traded for a unit with better quality.
  9. You can add Dakota Ridge to the list.... I had the unfortunate opportunity to stay at Dakota Ridge RV Park in Golden, CO. I was assigned space J5 and was escorted there by a park employee. The spaces are very close and the interior roads are very narrow. The park employee was guiding me into my space and put the right side of my coach into a tree branch. Two additional park employees came over to cut the branch away from my coach. I sustained slide cover damage. Because I was driving the coach the park has no liability even though I was following the instructions of the park employee. Then the next day the park had either a low voltage or surge which fried my automatic transfer switch. I asked if the park would give me some credit since my coach was damaged and the answer was no. I will NEVER stay at this park again.
  10. Try National RV Central at the I 10 and Orange Grove exit in Marana (Tucson) AZ. Phone number 520-413-4792. Cost is about $275.00 per month.
  11. Any smart cell phone with a data plan can be used as a hot spot. You are probably paying for data each month that you do not use. It is not necessary to buy a separate plan or device.
  12. Jim & Carol, I am not the first but surely will not her the last to welcome you to the Forum and FMCA. Great bund of folks use the Forum and there is a ton of information on it. The search engine wrks great, just type in a topic. Safe travels!
  13. I am very familiar with the route. Once you cross the Colorado river you will take 89A through Jacob Lake and then connect with 389. There are a lot of switch backs and only two lane road. Your best bet is going through Vegas and up I 15.
  14. Rich, Thanks again for your reply. You are a great source of knowledge. The Forum would not be the same without your input!!
  15. Rich, Does this apply to the ISL 360 HP engines in the 2008 H/R Ambassador's?
  16. We stayed at the Grand Canyon Railway RV Park in Williams. Beautiful park with paved road and parking spots. Yes it is about a 60 mile drive to the south rim but the RV Park and and amenities in Williams make up for it. You can even walk to a grocery store from the park!!
  17. Jerry, I also agree with Howde's points above. I am currently using Good Sam Roadside Assistance. The two times I used them were acceptable. The point I did not like was the service to my vehicle was paid but I had to pay the return mileage which can get expensive.
  18. Yes it is an IOTA 50 amp transfer switch. I will let the repair facility know. Thanks for the heads up.
  19. Bill, I followed the link and posted my review. Thank you very much for your help.
  20. I have a 2008 H/R Ambassador. I too have had an occasional "Warning" light on my dash. The manual says there is a sensor that is reading something out of spec. Once I shut off the engine the light also goes off, and does not light on restart. My unit is in Lazy Days Tucson for electrical work and I told them to check out the light. Once I know I will let you know what the problem was.
  21. AZTEC, I followed the link to post the information and the site wanted me to register. When I tried to register I was sent to a public records site??? If you are registered possibly you could post it for me with a 1 star rating. I posted the review with Good Same and RV Parky. Thanks much.

  23. Thanks for all the comments. I will go with the Progressive Industries 50 amp unit. Lazy Days says my compartment is a bit small for a permanent mount. I will review this with them as I do like the security of a permanent mount.
  24. Bill, I will ask Lazy Days about this when they call me with the pricing to repair my unit.
  25. Thanks guys. I researched Progressive Industries and like the more expensive 50 amp portable model as it not only protects against surges but also low voltage. Looks like one of these is in my future!!
