  1. I agree. We tow a 2013 Honda CRV with no problems. Honda really had the edge in the four down department. What were their engineers thinking? Money, not market share.
  2. I just left GEICO for AAA. I asked if glass coverage was mandatory in AZ and was told it wasn't. I have a $500.00 deductible for comprehensive so that would be the most out of pocket for me. GEICO was a good company and covered glass, but I wanted my home as well as my vehicles covered by one company.
  3. sangelucci, Just a thought. The Oxygenics shower head may put a bit more back pressure on the water line than the original shower head. The line may have some small cracks and the problem shows up with more back pressure. A camping friend had a small leak in this line and it drove him nuts until a tech found the leak. A hole had to be cut in the floor to get to the line but was repaired to look good. Again just a thought, but you may want to get both the hot and cold lines checked.
  4. Carl, If you find you have to replace the ATS please consider a surge protector if you do not already have one. I learned the hard way. They are available as portable or hard wired. I opted for the hard wired as I do not have to worry about anyone trying to steal it. Good luck with your coach.
  5. I drilled two holes in a rear access door and used stainless screws with stainless lock nuts. Works great and have no problems with the mount. I have not mounted anything on the front.
  6. Great info Tireman. Thanks.
  7. Tom, I hope we can see the eclipse in Tucson. Unfortunately it is forecast to be overcast so it may be a no go.
  8. My 2 cents too. I have been like a broken record on this forum about the lack of ISO quality systems at RV manufacturer's production plants. They all use RIVA, but that is really not a quality control system. The least expensive automobile is built to a high quality standard, yet the most expensive motorhome is not....go figure. The problem is we as consumers are not demanding quality from the manufacturers. They sift the burden of fixing many issues to their dealers. The manufacturers could actually save money by building it right the first time and letting the dealers take care of routine maintenance items. Unless we all get involved in this nothing will change. Once dealer salesmen start telling the manufacturers consumers are demanding quality, manufacturers will take notice. Thanks for listening.
  9. You probably have a three way ball valve to select city or to fill your fresh water tank. It should be brass or stainless steel. Try a hydraulics or pneumatics distributor to see if they have a replacement valve.
  10. Welcome to the forum. There are a lot of ads in the FMCA magazine. You might also want to check with large RV dealers in your area. Many of them will have the facilities to remodel your coach.
  11. I used Rigid Lam from Home Depot cut to 14" squares. It must be ordered through the contractor's desk. The product was 1-3/4" thick by 14" wide. I had it cut to 14" square. Once I got it home I sealed the wood with several coats of colored sealer. The wood pads have been through floods and very dry conditions and they still work great. The cost of the material is $6.89 a foot. Again you must work with the contractor's desk at Home Depot.
  12. I can't say anything about North Trails or Lazy Days in Florida, but I have been treated extremely well by Lazy Days in Tucson. I would recommend Lazy Days since I have purchased two RV's and had service done on both by them.
  13. Thanks Brett. I do have an 8 bag suspension.
  14. Brett, Any suggestions for my diesel pusher? Specs for coach are below.
  15. I use a half cup of Calgon water softener and half cup of Finish dishwasher detergent in each tank. Make sure there is water in each tank and drive to your destination. If you do this each time you drive the RV the tanks will stay clean and the sensors should read correctly.
  16. Discover is offering 5% cash back until September 30, 2014. We are planning a trip this month and will definitely use Discover.
  17. When my seals went bad on my Norcold 1200 I had to replace both lower doors. Norcold would not sell just the seals or any parts for the door. Fortunately the cost was covered by my initial warranty from Lazy Days.
  18. Cookie, Thanks for your reply. I agree 100% with your recommendations. However this incident I was driving into the parking space and was following the park employees direction. I was very concerned about my tail swing as a car was parked close to the road one lot behind me. The park employee was more concerned about a small light rather than guiding me away from the limb. You can be sure that I will always look over the space before I drive or back in.
  19. Sounds to me that Allied Specialty Vehicles are positioning the Holiday Rambler brand to be an entry level diesel pusher. If true it is really a shame that a proud brand is demoted from a midlevel luxury coach to entry level.
  20. I guess I am not understanding something here. I just received the latest issue of FMCA magazine. There was an ad for Seven Corners and the trip assist program. Looks like FMCA will coordinate the return of remains, pets, and RV at the owners expense. This is included in your membership. If you want the insurance to pay you still need to pay the premium. Correct?

    Air Bags

When I release the air from the suspension it takes forever. First the front releases then the rear. Is this normal with Holiday Rambler/Monaco?
  22. Forget I 40 thru Arizona, especially around Kingman. It is the pits....no pun intended.
  23. I have used GSRA twice for minor items with no issues. So far I would give them a good rating.
