Wayne, burner chamber. It has a swirl at the end of the tube that gums up. Last time I had to replace it from over fueling, it was melted. Ching...$295.00 . That hurt!

Carl, I pulled the cab interior in our C put that stuff everywhere installed new carpet. Huge difference! Also cut down on interior heat from the engine.

Mark, not sure how you are with maintenance, I am a bit excessive with our coach and vehicles. I sat on the board for a large OEM when I was a master tech for that manufacturer. Writing maintenance procedures and processes helping with carry real world experiences to them for resolution and corrective action. There is only so much you can do as preventative maintenance. The rest...well is up to the OEM and its design and quality of materials sourced. Unfortunately that is where most manufacturers fail today, to the lowest bidder isn't always a best practice, but seems to be the only path today. The internet will be the saving grace for most, you can locate service with a phone and Internet connection. Might not a bad idea to print out a map of eligible service locations along your path and have their number and hours handy.

Flat Towing a 2016 or 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sport JK
jleamont replied to mjschocken's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
14' JKU Polar automatic. Just as Manholt mentioned, 4x4 in N transmission in P, take key out. Double check there is no ignition lock in 17'. You never know if it will reappear one day. -
Oasis is a TT campground?

Bill, what did you think of it? Looking for 2019, top shelf resort, clean. I mean resort, could care less about bath houses, never been in one in 10 years, no plans to start now!

Well said! I have to agree 100%, the only thing that changes is the view out the window.

We always travel with intentions of staying one place for at least a day. Unless its a brief rest stop while traveling on the road, then my DW will seek out a place to park, be it a Campground, Walmart, Cracker Barrel, Truck stop with RV parking etc, the options are endless, or I should say have never been a problem in 10 years. I suggest a book like the FMCA atlas, it identifies locations like this and is a handy tool. Another one is a book called "The Next Exit", these tools will also provide dump stations to get rid on the gray and black waste, refill the fresh supply. In 08 we went to CA from PA and back, stopped at two CG's one out and one back on the way home only to have the tower catch fire when I flipped the breakers on, It happens. Those books mentioned above were worth their weight! large city's, we have traveled to many of these, we park the coach at a campground, either drive the toad in or take public transportation, one of our favorite is those city trolley buses you get to hop on and off, hop back on later. We have done DC, NYC, Boston, Philly, if those don't accommodate our plans we catch a cab, did that in NYC to hit a few spots that weren't on the bus list. This is always pre-planned and booked with a specific destination in mind, DW will draw up an itinerary so we don't miss anything of interest in that area. Repairs on the road, all Diesel shops have adequate parking for large vehicles, some even have hookups. Your coach might find this more difficult than us, as most diesel shops will not have invested in special software to read Light duty MB engines. Large ones are in the same category as us as your coach type is not their core business and that's a steep investment for a shop. Cummins, CAT, Detroit, HD Mercedes Benz, all can be diagnosed with universal scan tools. I can actually pull fault codes from my dash also, that will determine if I handle or pay someone. Day trip from there with the toad and make the best of it, come back at night and stay in the coach is what I have read most will do. I carry spare fuel filters and enough tools to swap them and most other tasks that come along. I also give our coach a good look over prior to going anywhere, usually days in advance, anything that looks suspicious gets addressed then. I have also walked around and checked wheel torque prior to leaving. Minor issues I would handle, if I needed help, call a mobile service in. I had a pipe break at the Grand Canyon Railway Campground a few years ago, hopped in the jeep went to the hardware store, came back and fixed it, might have taken me an hour from start to finish. A wise man once said on this forum, "some of the fun repairing your RV is having the excuse to buy a new tool" Wildebill quote from 2018, smart guy that Bill is When life gives you lemons, make Limoncello, buona giornata

Jim, that's how we use ours also. Engine heats the unit, we pull in, plug in I flip the electric heating elements on, sometimes the diesel (only if its cold outside). In the AM I will turn the diesel on, DW likes long HOT showers, electric cant keep up. There is always fuel in the pump within the burner, where there is a concern is the nozzle, it could clog the nozzle at the tip in theory. The system will most likely overcome it but could cause an uneven spray pattern. Since you run your coach more than us, flip it on once in a while in lieu of the electric, let it run through a cycle, that should suffice. I wouldn't go as crazy as a log or reminder, nor would I be alarmed if I missed a month, If I missed 6 months or a year, different story. I believe AH assumes the system will be operated more frequently thus the reason for the annual service recommendation and not mentioning the exercising of the unit. Ours sat prior to us purchasing it, that nozzle would drip fuel into the burner rather than an even spray pattern, believe me you will know it, it smoked, the exhaust stunk, and I could smell raw fuel in the basement. I really thought we had a much bigger issue than an $18.00 nozzle.

Jim, I exercise mine when I need heat. Mostly in part as I am often working on stuff in the winter months and that's my #1 source of heat. I don't see anywhere in my manual that says to exercise it also but I will often do it even when not working inside if I remember. From what I understand it helps keep the nozzle clear., read that on the AH forums. I also only replace my nozzle every other year, but I do replace the fuel filter every spring. If you are having nozzle problems, you will know it! excessive smoke from the exhaust or raw fuel smell in the basement. I believe (speculating) that replacing the nozzle every year would apply to people using this more frequently than we do (full timers etc...)

337 full 18.5H x 18.5W x 36.75L mine's bigger

WOW, mine is in the 300 lbs range. Slang name was "IRON DUKE" from what I read

Jim, I believe rsbilledwards has Oasis in his Panther. From what I have read they are very similar. I am changing my coolant this year in the AH unit along with the annual service, ordered the antifreeze yesterday, last time it was done was 2012. Ours doesn't use boiler fluid, just regular antifreeze.

How about an offset funnel? Something like this; https://www.homedepot.com/p/Lisle-Right-Angle-Funnel-LIS17232/207003306?cm_mmc=Shopping|THD|google|&mid=sBW7BiWnK|dc_mtid_8903tb925190_pcrid_195274179091_pkw__pmt__product_207003306_slid_&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIp-3R9ILM2QIVhkwNCh3V-whJEAQYAiABEgI48PD_BwE It will take bit longer to get the oil in but you wont have to go hunting to find an alternative. I don't use the gear housing fill point, they always back up quickly and overflow. I use that jug with the valve above a few posts, 7 quarts at a time with patience . They also make 12v oil pumps for boats, like this; https://www.walmart.com/ip/ABN-12V-5A-60W-Fluid-Oil-Diesel-Extractor-Pump-w-Tubes-for-Truck-RV-Boat-ATV/118674412?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=550&adid=22222222227040562711&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=99650585314&wl4=pla-235727066914&wl5=1025392&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=112354493&wl11=online&wl12=118674412&wl13=&veh=sem Do yourself a favor, pull the dip stick out while filling it to allow the air to escape from the crankcase up the dipstick tube, otherwise you might get it to burp back at you, that's no fun!

That's great! Getting good use of it

Wayne, good post! I just received my parts for the "annual tune up" yesterday from Roger B (Aquahot forum). I Might tackle it this weekend if I have time. Funny I almost didn't buy this coach when I saw it had Aquahot. Fear of the unknown I guess! Now I wouldn't buy another coach without it, we love the quiet heat.

Hand tools, Craftsman or Snap On or ???
jleamont replied to punxsyjumper's topic in General Discussion
Forgot to mention, the Husky hand wrenches at Home Depot were made by Snap on, different specifications, actually closer to the Snap on tier two product, labeled "Blue Point". I asked a Snap on dealer that once, he admitted it but tried to talk his way out of it. -
2000 Allegro Bay Electrical/Ignition Issue

Glad to hear! One thing when chasing components, you familiarize yourself with the rest of the stuff that can go wrong. Helps later on...well hopefully no more problems...
