  1. Carl, those attendance numbers were strong all the way into the mid 2000's if I remember correctly. Believe me I was shocked and got to thinking what that must have been like! FMCA was always considered "top shelf" that's why we joined back in 09. The rest is history!
  2. TT, one the old format of the FMCA website (homepage) there was a tab you could see past years rally locations, all the way back into the 80's if my memory serves me right. It also gave the total count of coaches that attended. Wow were those some impressive numbers! With the new website I have not been able to locate that list, might still be there, I just cant find it. Once upon a time they were more spread out and in various locations with a lot more coaches in attendance in most cases. My guess is the places they were held are no longer available or its not convenient for the staff to plan it out.
  3. Oasis is made by INTERNATIONAL THERMAL RESEARCH Aquahot is made by Aqua-Hot Heating Systems, Inc. The Aquahot (my vintage) utilizes a Webasto burner unit, I have no idea if the later ones are the same. In looking at the two side by side the Oasis seems to be less complicated at the burner unit level. The Oasis looks more like a home heating boiler burner unit. I would be more concerned on the previous owners maintenance rather than the manufacture of the unit if you are looking at used. Both will break if not maintained properly. When I did an internet search on the two companies both popped up with other forum links with problem units.

You get up this way, we will go for a road trip!
  5. We joined Family Motor Coach Association to meet people with common interests, that being MOTORHOMES discuss traveling plans site seeing destinations and learn about the motorhome lifestyle all the while making new friends and building comradery. The point of the comments above has absolutely nothing to do with your trailers specifications nor does it have anything to do with your truck, please don't take it personal, that was not the intent. The personal part I'll get to in a few. I also mentioned above I didn't want to hijack this thread but I got pullled into this post deeper, apparently that degree didn't teach reading comprehension. We travel with friends that have trailers on occasion. I have worked on both, and their camper portion cannot be driven and is very different to OUR coach therefor it's not the same, you maybe an engineer but I spent a portion of mine correcting those errors. The sole purpose I am still around, to help others from my experience. I mearly stated my opinion above and got called back into the post. I'll be darn if I'm going to sit back and take a double shot from someone that knows little about how your trailer shares the same equipment as my motorhome when you don't know me or my motorhome. This forum is turning into a similar hostile form as that IRV one, perhaps it's because you came from there. Moderators, sorry for the post, I didn't ask for this nor did I open the door but something had to be said.
  6. Had to delete it...don't want to go into timeout
  7. especially Creepy Crawler..love it!!!
  8. 419Bailey Welcome to the Forum.... again... Also check if you have a switch box to change the incoming signal source, make sure that it is set properly and the connections on the rear are tight, they can rattle loose while driving.
  9. Beautiful photos and scenery, thank you for sharing!
  10. ULSD attacks rubber and it appears to pull the oils from it causing it to dry out, this has been a nightmare since its release on older engines creating fuel leaks.
  11. Agreed! IMHO The founding family acknowledged the complexity and differences within a motorhome and its intended purpose. Lets face it, there is a lot more to a motorhome than a trailer and there is also differences in the lifestyle, not always but... at least in my 10 years of experience anyway. I wont get into a long dissertation on the differences so as not to hijack this thread.
  12. hmm, i do run the AH and generator monthly, so fuel is moving all winter
  13. That is the moral of the entire story here, well said! This post just brought the continued frustrations from within its members. We also camp often with Trailer people, I don't look down upon them. They chose what they have as it suites their needs, our motorhome suites ours, around the fire no one cares.
  14. Just had a problem with ours that seemed much worse than it was and figured i'd share it. The burner would ignite, run and the RPMs would fluctuate up and down and it would blow blue smoke when the RPM's would drop the burner would stall and reignite all the while it sounded like marbles rattling around inside the burner. Posted on Rogers's forum, he suggested fuel delivery problem. The filter is new so I got to thinking internal fuel pump? Na that's only 6 years old. I was just about to rig up a vacuum gauge to see if the pump was actually sucking or not when it dawned on me to do a thorough inspection of the fuel delivery system. I Started to check the area around the fuel filter and found the supply line from the fuel tank to the filter collapsed internally, it actually had a dent in it and the line was hard as a rock. Swapped out the fuel line and the system is operating normally once again. I am so thankful Monaco's fuel tank is easily accessible, it took me maybe 15 minutes to replace the hose. Guess ill be replacing the fuel line from the filter to the AH unit and the generator fuel supply line also this spring fortunately they are all easily accessible. This ULSD Diesel is really becoming a PIA . First it took out the coach engine lines in 2014, now the AH fuel lines in 2018
  15. Can you take a picture and post it? I use the same hose and it threads onto the couplings, I believe it's left handed thread.
  16. Rob, you will need to access the rear of the fans. Usually there are two per heat exchanger. They look like computer fans each fan is independent of the other, just share the same wiring coming in. Once behind it use your volt meter to check for power. As mentioned just make sure you are set to on for that specific zone. What year make and model coach do you have? Mine is separate from the roof top heat/A/C controls with three individual thermostats and a separate switch for heated floor.

If they were in GA they weren't having a Philly Cheese steak .
  18. Mine was a 98' and Coachmen stripped all sound deading material that Ford had installed at the factory. Why...who knows? I reinstalled it and additional huge difference and a drastic heat reduction.
  19. I missed the brand that was being considered. I looked into this with Xantrex to upgrade ours, new one is just plug and play. I wouldn't change brands. Unless you were going up, not down.
  20. If it were me I would do the upgrade to PSW.
  21. You do not have a fuel shut off solenoid externally, that would be on an Pre 1998 engine. Yours is internal to the fuel injection pump. You should have a fuse and relay to cut power to the injection pump, if you pull it and its still running you either have a short (not likely) or power back feeding as mentioned in the post above this from Frank. I would call Cummins with your engine serial number to find out how it is supposed to operate. Cummins; 1-800-343-7357
  22. Jrock, head south, only calling for a dusting to 1" down here in south eastern PA.
