  1. Bill, take a peek at the tire weights posted on the side wall, total the two and see for yourself. That's the part you can see, the suspension weights you cannot verify. I wouldn't trust Tiffin at this point. they failed horribly once and let that coach drive around for 7 years without notifying the owner of the present hazard. If it's a known problem there should have been some sort of recall. I would hate to see you or any other drive that down the road and something fail catastrophically. I have to agree with Jim, drive it cautiously to the closest place of repair. Try a truck repair shop with scales, they have to be plentiful in TX. Get that fixed and turn the page...go out and enjoy it!
  2. Cant speak to Hermans recommendation. I have one of these connected at all times providing me with a digital set of gauges. https://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=scangauge+d&tag=hydsma-20&index=aps&hvadid=177593578550&hvpos=1t1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=6178622568250721435&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007343&hvtargid=kwd-48059789671&ref=pd_sl_70ti7s4b1i_e&gclid=CjwKCAiAlL_UBRBoEiwAXKgW5zzMa2nrXgcd9USHYgn72b0jP_1W28POXdm3HbF9nuZmSL5hrGjMQRoC9X4QAvD_BwE plus if I get any engine faults it will display those also.
  3. Skykingtcb, mine is on the cooler lines right after they exit the transmission for the gauge on the dash. How do you know its not hooked up? The reason I ask is the gauge on our Monaco doesn't rise until 140 degrees, but the scale is so close its hard to identify its actually working under normal temp range, it has to be really hot to even notice the gauge.
  4. That's a great recommendation! I have to keep that one for myself also . thank you
  5. I installed these in many cars over the years, in doors and under carpeting, they do work well. Rsbilledwards might be able to chime in for another product recommendation. As mentioned I would start with the cab area, then move back, you might find yourself removing drawers for access and reaching around blind corners for installation. Sprinters don't come with much for sound deadening from the factory in the cab area, not a bad idea to do some improvements up there for a more peaceful ride. https://www.amazon.com/Evercoat-116-Q-Pads-Sound-Deadener/dp/B000P70UP8
  6. Now that sounds like the best solution to Cabin fever yet!
  7. Whhhew, I was sitting here thinking mud bug?? up here that's like a lawn grub you Texans eat that stuff, i'm not moving anywhere
  8. Mud bugs, poor mans lobster. So that I remain on topic, best when eaten when experiencing cabin fever.
  9. ctammyh, to post a photo from an apple device; Save the photo to your device go to this post as if you are going to reply select "Click to choose files" it has a paper clip to the left of it you should see a pop up, select "Photo Library" select "Camera Roll" from your device tap the photo or photos you want select "Done" in the right upper corner select "submit reply" on the screen, it should upload Locating a shop with portable scales could be difficult and is absolutely the correct way to dial them in, unless Tiffin can provide a close air outbound pressure and the shop can "T" a gauge into the line coming off to put you into a window and you could seek out a scale soon and make the adjustments yourself if you feel comfortable. Otherwise locating a shop with scales could be a challenge. The electric should be on the current valving as well, it is for your lift function.
  10. Didn't know that . Glad we are not big fans of it, prefer blue crab!
  11. Mike, Our last coach kept having problems with the clamps and wall when left hooked to the side walls (21' awning, pretty heavy). I called Dometic, they told me that the best practice was to unhook them and put them on the ground, thus taking the load off the side wall and the wall clamps. I broke many leg feet, wall clamps, one time sheared the bolts off the wall, the awning fell and the clamp scratched the wall pretty bad. When the awning is closed it actually rests on the top mounts into a grove, the wall mount clamps are just to hold the legs to the side wall, not carry the load for an extended amount of time. They only take a few seconds to clamp and un-clamp. Little longer when you have to pound tent stakes into the ground, but you don't want them standing up loose without ground securement.
  12. Yes, put 6 on our coach March 2017 (different size), ran them last season. No issues and they didn't feel any different than the Michelin XZE2 that came off.
  13. You head that way let me know, we often camp in those parts.
  14. Jim, we were in Maine July 4th 2016, temperatures were low 80's NO humidity. We stayed here http://www.gocamping.com/ Not far from LL Bean. There is also a bunch of breweries in Portland ME just north, that was fun also. Loved it, ate to much lobster that week, but its low calorie.....
  15. Beautiful country, but I'm not sure any one place is perfect all year. Last time I was in Maine for work was in the middle of June, it was sleeting and mid 30's. I left the 80's in PA with no coat
  16. I have no tag experience in an RV application, but a lot in commercial trucks. So what I'm seeing in this set up it's not adjustable? In a truck you can adjust how much down pressure, now the driver cannot do this but a mechanic can in a few minutes.
  17. Carl, its 72 here . Don't worry, ill be eating those word when the Blizzard comes along in a few weeks . Not sure if its an early spring or the calm before the storm I get the cabin fever, every year I start some coach project to keep me busy on the weekends.
  18. ctammyh; Welcome the the FMCA Forum! Sounds like there is too much down pressure on the tag, thus transferring weight to the steer axle. I'm not surprised they sent the correction parts for free, they produced a coach unsafe to operate with an overloaded axle, and of all axles the steer . In the end its their responsibility to have it right when it left the factory, they failed and are trying to make it right. I would have it aligned afterwards and a through inspection of the front suspension just to be certain its straight and nothing is worn out from carrying all of that weight on something not designed to do so, also couldn't hurt to have the tires inspected also. Speaking of tires, since the coach is a 2011, any idea how old they are?
  19. That and the "harmful to human" decals in some of the newer RV's, HUH?? what do you mean I shouldn't stay inside more than 12 hours a day or it could be harmful to my health? You have to wonder what person sources this stuff and thinks "MEAH, IT ILL BE OK.....GET-R-DONE" .
  20. It must be on older models, we were only shopping 2005 and older. You ever ride the monorail at Disney? it was kind of like that
  21. What I always found interesting with Newmar was the slides talk to you when you press the button to deploy them, first one we looked at I got to laughing.
  22. I have three on mine, one on each side and a back up alarm! Every time I put the turn signals on that specific side beeps, wow does that get annoying driving down the road changing lanes, when your foot is on the brake the side ones cancel so you get to keep your sanity at a traffic light. On a good note there is a cancel switch on the dash which I use when backing into a site so I can hear the DW talking in the microphone.
