    Best Tow Dolly Tires

I had a tire failures on my Demco dolly, did the same, upgraded the wheels to 15" and installed a ST225/75R15 10ply trailer service tire made by Maxxis, never had a problem after. Taller tire spins slower, was the thought behind it. I had to raise the fenders slightly, but both were torn up pretty bad from the other tires already. Try a heavier tire trailer service and better brand.
  2. Ok, had enough of not being able to see very well in the dark. Installed these in place of ,my driving lights. https://www.iowa80.com/view-cart/ I have a two way rocker switch on the dash for the Low/high function. While at it, I put in a set of Sylvania Silver star headlamp bulbs. They fit perfectly in the existing spot. Only issue; they are designed to mount into a headlamp bucket with trim ring, I had to fabricate mounting brackets.
  3. Patrick, I used the Hopkins kit on our 2014 JKU, no issues. I understand the Mopar kit is easier to install as it only plugs into the interior of the Jeep, you don't have to route the harness to the rear. But it is 4x the price; https://www.moparpartsdeals.com/oem-parts/mopar-tow-vehicle-wiring-harness-82211156ab?origin=pla&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5vaGzOX51QIV1TqBCh2icAGYEAQYAiABEgIBIvD_BwE
  4. RSBILL, I change mine every two years. Due again in 2018, last time I installed a remanufactured dryer assembly, The previous dryer appeared to be all original, including the desiccant . Some genius built a wooden box around it and moved it back off the factory mount with a hole in the side of the box. I couldn't locate the dryer when we bought the coach, at the time it was 12 years old with 59,000 miles on it. I removed the box, put it back where it came from the factory and replaced the entire unit then. The only thing I could think was he didn't like the noise when it purges, and he was successful, you couldn't hear it purge, I swore it didn't have one.
  5. DD, replace it in the am, as mentioned mark the lines maybe photo the line configuration with your phone and take the old one with you. There isn't much to them and they are prone to failure. I also carry a spare like bill does. Several resemble each other, with the correct one in hand should eliminate any confusion.
  6. BBB, huh, never thought of going that route. Do you have a link?
  7. Replaced my center caps and lug covers. These are vented to allow hot air to escape, the center cap on the front can be removed to inspect oil levels easily, unlike the Monaco covers that came with it.
  8. I voted Few items to note if anyone read the information in the magazine, that was a bit confusing, I wasn't impressed at the verbiage utilized, I feel it was written as a play on words to confuse the situation, frankly it ticked me off. Right along side of "towable". Trailers (most) are not "self contained", no generators. That phrase was used at every RV dealer I have ever walked into while shopping both times, every dealer told us trailers are NOT self contained unless you special order it with a generator, even then only certain makes and models offer it.
  9. His CW stores are terrible and mismanaged. He was quoted in an article not to long ago about how he doesn't like RV people. Thats enough for me to stay away from his businesses.
  10. Obedb, same system in ours, never used it. When you plug the hose in ours turns on, either location (kitchen or bedroom). We also use a Dyson cordless, resides in the bedroom in its cradle out of sight. Between the bag of hose and needing to purchase clean out bags we opted to forget it was there. It's unplugged now.
  11. Bill, we want to hear about the trip on the forum, not the 6:00 news, behave yourself!
  12. A little patience on the motorhome's part would have prevented all of that ciaos! Carl, I have to agree with you and it seems like its getting worse as each day passes by.
  13. Puff, Rand McNally is a slimy company. I kept following their instructions updating sent it back, Updating....updating they assured me the fix was in the next update all the while the warranty clock was ticking, they were stalling me and then denied any further assistance under warranty.
  14. Nice!! Let us know if it worked! I am pulling mine apart this weekend (light out on a gauge), ill snap a photo of the back if you still need it.
  15. What's the concern with the air line between toad and coach, an air line with two air chucks is pretty darn strong? Id be more concerned with all of the electronics in the interior of the toad, toad battery maintaining, drilling into the toad to mount cables and pulleys, potential brake pedal binding while driving the toad. My biggest concern; Fully Proportional was an absolute MUST! I was tired of the toad banging into the tow bar then the brakes would apply, pull over, get out adjust the box in the Jeep, get back in, only to see smoke from the toad tires when I'm slowing down to stop. It got old real fast, then the brakes respond differently due to brake temperatures, so here we go again, get out adjust, get back in drive away...... if you think fully proportional isn't necessary, wait until someone pulls out in front of you and need the toad at 100% braking but its only set to a light tug . Been there done that. Five, how is the new BlueOx patriot? I had the older model, it seemed to work ok, it did make me feel better it was there and I was legal with it. What soured me, parts were discontinued, once they were exhausted I put it out front for the trash man, not a happy camper moment on a three year old unit. I also never had a good spot for it when it was removed.
  16. If it were me I would factor DEF into cost per mile, most wont as it will make the reality hurt. While DEF would be a start the real eye opener would be maintenance cost per mile on a non emissions coach vs. a newer coach with the same miles. I know what I see at work and the variance is disgusting.
  17. A little closer...I use these people for anything related like that. They made me covers for my service trucks to protect the air compressors, generators and hose reels. They also altered the nose bra on the coach when I couldn't find one make, model specific. http://www.maupholstery.com/
  18. Yup! The instructions made it out to be harder than it actually was. All you really want is no slack or too tight so the brakes are applied all the time. Both jeeps Herman, I still have the cylinder from the 03 on my tool box. The 2014 was tricky but not terrible, maybe added 1/2 hour to the project.
  19. Was M&G mentioned yet . Sorry....It is a very simple system to install, especially on a Jeep Wrangler. Best bang for the buck in my opinion. A friend purchased another brand and it took him 7 hours to do the install. M&G took me less than an hour.
  20. Good post Five! I the older ones use regular automobile antifreeze. Not sure where they switched over in their models. Ours uses regular green Prestone premixed. But it was made in 01. Rodger is a great resource for advice and parts.
  21. Bill, I had a coworker that did a Hydrogen conversion on a Dodge Ram with a hemi. That was pretty neat, his average mpg was 36 over 40 on the highway. 1500 Ram 4 door 4x4 Big Horn edition. I believe it was distilled water and baking soda reservoirs under the hood that were electrically charged.
