  1. Puff, you did the same thing I did . My email is correct now, and all looks good. Todd, thank you!
  2. Todd, thank you! and GREAT REPLY!
  3. I am convinced if someone opened an RV dealer in a prime location and just treated people the way they would want to be treated they would dominate the area. Lets also not forget to properly train your staff to respond to their customers needs. Put me in charge of such a place I would clean house and staff it accordingly with the right people for the job. This is a sore spot for me coming from the automotive business, where I treated people like royalty and they spent a whole lot less on each vehicle. Customer service goes a long way with most people. You have to earn a customers trust.
  4. YUP, that's the way most operate. Besides that I have found the shop, parts and sales staff have no idea what they are doing in most instances. Which is pretty darn scary. Our first coach bought from a RV dealer in the Pocono's nice people, the owner insisted I could not leave with it until we went through the entire unit and I understood how it worked. They called us often after to check up on how we liked it and where we have taken it. Great people! Our second coach we bought from a car/RV dealer in Strasburg PA, got the same great sales experience. They told me up front they get by with some areas of service on RV's but they were not experts in their service department, I was happy they were honest up front. All of my bad experiences did not come from the places we purchased the coaches from, but from RV dealers that are local to where we reside. FYI, none were CW stores, they are worse! We have a dealer not too far that will sell you a new Holiday Rambler, Thor or Damon DP but they will not work on anything chassis related, including oil changes.
  5. thetabe49, you just described the same problem I had in 2014. What I thought was algae (thanks to Brett) actually turned out to be deteriorated fuel line between the tank and the fuel water separator. When I looked at what was in my filter it had shards of rubber and black slime. At first it looked like algae, upon further inspection (cutting the filter open) is where I found the fragments of fuel line. I also had a raw fuel smell in the basement area, that's not to say you would experience the same depending on how the coach was built. If your primary filter is not full when you remove it, you could have the same problem I did. If it is full I would lean toward the algae problem. I sincerely hope you just have an algae problem. I saw this product at my local NAPA to remove water but it also helps remove algae from a fuel tank. link to NAPA http://www.napaonline.com/napa/en/p/FIL4582 Here is the link to my fuel line mess.
  6. Just under the drivers door, they do not get much air if any. They are accessed by removing a panel with the drivers door open.
  7. ObedB my front one works key off, the back one doesn't matter what position the keys in. I would call Tiffin, see if they have any idea what's going on. If they are of no real help for a solution and since they always work, I'm not sure I would be to concerned. When we bought this coach the first thing I taught myself was how to pull them in manually. I even keep the proper speed wrench handy.
  8. Brett, this post and the few others made me place a call to find out what the problems we had (called my old employer), during the call the light bulb went on in my head. brought back the memories. Two issues listed below 1, We were running the Optima battery, No issues with a day cab tractor, when you put them into a sleeper tractor (batteries have no air flow around them unlike like a day cab) they would over heat. Burnt two tractors to the ground, cause of fire was ruled overheated batteries, it happened while driving in both instances, which might go back to the post above with the alternators. In this case both were equipped with Delco 40SI, which does have remote sense to monitor the batteries state of charge, so you would think it would adjust the current on a fully charged battery. After further inspection most of the sleeper fleet had signs of over heated batteries, (melted housings, disfigured wire loom in the area of the batteries etc.) They switched them all out with wet cell's on sleepers only, no more issues. No signs of over heating on the day cabs, also equipped with the same alternator and battery configuration. Both units came with the Delco/Optima equipment from their manufactures, they were not added after. 2, The AGM battery paired up with a starter motor equipped with an over crank protection system, when the AGM drops below 12.0V the starter will not engage. I can think of a few things that could have caused the #1 concern above, but since I mentioned some concerns on a different post I wanted to dig into it to refresh my memory and share it.
  9. Mine works the same way as yours. Not sure what ObedB has got going on with that Tiffin . As soon as my key goes on it switches back to travel height also.
  10. Carroll, in addition to ObedB reply, make sure all of you basement doors are shut tight. My first reply....I am trying to figure out if the house batteries are also dead, did you have those checked/replaced?
  11. Carroll, do you have any interior lights inside the coach and the roof vent fans are operating?
  12. Interesting topic. We filled out a few of the cards at an RV show a few years back for prizes, we have gotten the calls advising us we won something . 5 free nights in Gettysburg PA but we had to go to claim the prize, right away I said to my DW this is a time share. So we go listen to the speech, picked up the coupon for 5 free days, never used it. It was just like Bill mentioned above, pay a few thousand $$ get a list of campgrounds (funny they were all in less desirable locations around the US, and there wasn't many either). So they tell us "or you can be like the rest of the families here and just park your RV here for the camping season". My wife spouts out, why would I want to sit here and look at the same scenery, our motorhome has wheels under it for a reason". Thanks but no thanks! They explained to us that 95% of RV owners do not think that way, we are the "other 5%". Ill drink to that! I am sure there might be some benefit to these, depending on your lifestyle, how often you travel etc. But its not for us. We want to go to different places, explore and see the USA, not sit at a CG/trailer park and watch the same old same old all the time. I have often thought it might save us a few dollars, but when you add up what I spend per year on CG's vs. what these cost, I am ahead by a few hundred, plus they often are not where we want to go. We also do not like rolling into some dump with washed out roads, no defined sites etc. I prefer to spend a few extra dollars and stay someplace memorable and enjoyable. Its one thing if you stop for a night and just want a place to plug in, dump and fill your tanks. Blake, we also destination camp several times a year, usually at a beach town area. Our one favorite spot has a restaurant and tiki bar on the beach at the CG. Just a great place to unwind, watch the water skiers from your seat and listen to the band play. I will often head into town pick up 2-3 dozen Blue Crabs while we are there also. If you are ever out this way let me know, we have a few great destination CG's not far in DE and MD. One is under construction, I have it booked 2 x this season. I am confident we haven't missed anything by not having a membership.
  13. I tried to change mine, it asked for a password, I entered it, I got an error it was the wrong password. Odd thing is I just logged in with it so ??? I asked Todd to change it last night in an email. That might be your best bet.
  14. See if you get a notification I responded to your post. I will send you a PM also.
  15. We always look for the deals. When they are around we run with them! Glad to help!
  16. I renew my KOA card every year when I make the first reservation at one of their Kampgrounds. I give them my ID number they have all of my information on file and they always ask if I would like to renew. We have always had good luck with KOA. We loved the one in Nashville TN at 2626 Music valley Drive. Probably the nicest one I have been to yet. If its your first time here is the link, the card application is on the right side of the screen. https://koa.com/value-kard-rewards/ Similar with Jellystone campgrounds, just no annual fee, you can accrue points for discounts to be used at a later date. Due to this I always try to locate one of these first when making reservations, once a year I get enough points for a free weekend or several free days. It also applies to any items bought in the camp store to accrue points.
  17. Tom, good luck, maybe you will learn something looking over his shoulder. I do not blame you one bit, if you do not feel comfortable working on it call someone in. Better off safe than sorry.
  18. Todd, I changed the notifications back to what they were before. Should be ok now. Carl, I would gladly take him to lunch if I was even close to the main office. I certainly hope he is not a volunteer.
  19. Brett, you are correct, Todd is all over the forum making changes at this time. Poor guy, hopefully someone takes him out to lunch today, he will need a break
  20. Todd, the like button would make more sense, it would certainly cut down on the number of posts. I sometimes comment just to follow a post, if I could "like" it or "follow" would be beneficial. I see you have your hands full. I will pop in a few times through out the next few days to see how it is progressing and to help a fellow member if necessary. I can work around most quirks, the personal email blowing up is aggravating my DW. Thank you, Joe
  21. Herman, I can relate to that. We traveled on I-40 through OK in November 2013 it was so bad the body mounting sheared off the frame on our class C and the microwave broke out of its mounting. I remember crossing a river on I-40 and I thought the coach was going to be totaled when I go to the other side. Next time I will come down I-44 and just deal with the Highway Patrol RV harassment.
  22. Carl, it looked like it worked I have a "heart" to the right of my post. Carl, if I cannot stop flooding my email inbox with every time someone posts on something I commented on I am going to disappear as well.
  23. Wow, are you trying to bracket race a DP?
  24. Brett, I found them, but you cannot toggle the buttons. it has a message when you hover your mouse over them. something like "these have been blocked by the administrator "
