Carl, thanks for the advice. I could probably get away with an older Prevost since they do not have slides and she hates slides. I wont see them until March (custom built), good thing....I have been changing out my dash panel from the dull gray factory to wood grained to match the rest of the controls I replaced earlier in the year. I am trying to figure out if I want to mount my "Scan Gauge" in the dash like it came that way from HR or just locate a simple home for it without going crazy. Plus, we are expecting 16"-24" snow storm with Blizzard conditions Friday into early Sunday so I am making sure the house generator is ready for the event and my snow blower is tuned up and the usual, wine, cheese stocked up etc... Think I am going to make some homemade Chili for the weekend and just relax. I have to ask Puff what software he uses to compress photos, seems like my cell phone photos are much to clear to post on here. My old phone worked fine the new I-phone the pixels are too high.

First Cross Country Trip NY To California & Back
jleamont replied to Trynforpar's question in Destinations/Attractions
Trynforpar, we ran this trip two times. Starting in PA I went out I-76 west to I-70 west to St Louis (watch the signs for I-44 its easily missed, I missed it and the DW still reminds me often) I-44 south to I-40 west. I-40 we love the scenery and stops along the way. Grand Canyon railway campground in Williams AZ is great. I recommend taking the steam engine up to the Grand Canyon from the campground. Williams AZ is a neat town to walk around. Route 66 parallels I-40, we jumped on and off I-40 and strolled through some of the small towns and took in all of the old traveling history. I love Route 66 history so that was a highlight for me. We ate at the "Big Texan steak ranch" in Amarillo TX, stayed at the campground close by and the Big Texan picked us up in a 1970's Caddy limo, that was neat. We also stopped at a gas station from the Disney movie 'Cars" took a picture of the Motorhome at the old glass top gas pumps in Shamrock TX. Good place to eat if you like classic cars is Russell's Truck Stop and Museum in Endee New Mexico, decent food neat place to walk around. Just off I-40 at RT392. -
Haha, that's great!

I went round and round with this thought when we bought this coach in 2014. I looked all over the unit for a place to hide a wheel and tire assembly and finally came to the reality I was going to sign up for roadside assistance. I have all of the tools on board, jack and calibrated torque wrench but somewhere in the last year and a half I lost the ambition to change a flat tire.

Carl, a 1984 Prevost is within my budget, she didn't mention what year it had to be.

Bob, what engine do you have in your coach? New technology engine block heaters are thermostatically controlled on some engines, with most manufactures it’s an option. I wonder if you are equipped that way? Have you used it before? I have noticed in most cases they are unplugged back in the engine area even though there is a switch inside to turn them on and off. I had a sales person tell me its always better to keep in unplugged until you need it.

Cummins ISB-02 Fuel Filters/ Freightliner Chassis
jleamont replied to dickandlois's topic in Engines
Serviced my friends Tiffin yesterday. Brett, the thermostat looked like new, I was pleasantly surprised given the PH levels. I replaced the thermostat and all antifreeze, changed the chassis oil and filter and replaced both fuel filters. I will say that coach was not built for engine bay access. It was tight and the rear doors are much too small. I guess I am spoiled with the Monaco design I have. The fuel filters were in a bad spot and difficult to remove once unscrewed, even harder to reinstall with the hydraulic hoses pressing up against the fuel separator. The fuel filters were so old they were rusty and the paint on the separator was falling off in my hands. I was surprised it ran so well. To my surprise his ISL did not have a coolant filter, even though his engine serial number calls for it the manifold was not there. Another odd thing the valve cover is black along with the entire engine and all of the engine paint is peeling, all of the other Cummins engines I saw in those years had a red valve cover, later years the entire engine was all red. On to the generator next, air dryer, axle and transmission in the weeks to come, weather permitting. It's back home in his driveway sitting until the next decent weather weekend. -
I want to, told the DW I was going, just got a strange look. Might be going by myself....more to come on this. I won the battle (or at least I think so) doubtful I will win the war, lol.

Georgia Registration, Taxes, & Fees
jleamont replied to pallums's topic in Laws and Legislative Action
Wow. 6% here when you purchase it. $180.00 per year for registration renewal plus Annual State Inspection $85.00. PA -
Carl, the last time I was done with the upgrades and 6 months from owning it I traded it in for this beast. Every time I turn around "Prevost" comes from her mouth lately. I guess it's ok she wants a different coach in the future....as long as I am not getting traded in its all good....... right? I would love to post photos, cannot ever seem to compress them enough for the requirements on this site.

Carl, funny you mentioned PPL. I compare their prices to CW and they almost always are the same or very close. I choose PPL even if a slight bit higher. The service from PPL has been great in relation to their parts staff (cant speak for any other part of the co) and service like that isn't free, neither is knowledge.

Good idea, thanks. I will take a better look tonight to see how I can squeak it in.

OSCARPOWER, I was in Bangor ME June 3rd last year for work (not far from Acadia) and it was 36 degrees. Could have been a freak thing but it was not comfortable. check future weather planning when it gets closer, this year is a much different year than last with regards to the temps, maybe it will be a good year for that. We are headed up in July to play it safe.

HA, she was doing that for a while, now she opens the window and asks if it's ok to open the slides and if she is going to hit anything. I have three bays under the kitchen slide, two pass through and the fuel/propane bay behind the steer axle and my doors lift up so you must crawl under the door to gain access. I often think how much I would have preferred swing doors on the bays.

Puff, the back is and I quote "easley removed" yea my gut tells me the neighbors will hear me. lol thanks Puff! joe

Just ordered the final piece of interior for the "new to us" coach we bought in May 2014. The unit came missing the J Lounge that was directly behind the passenger seat. From the spec sheet it was a power flip with a bed under it that replaced the normal 40PKD wrap around desk. My guess is it was a special order from the original owner to delete the wrap around desk and replace with the J lounge. Apparently they liked it so much they took it with them . When we bought the unit I removed the buffet and repositioned the table and discarded the loose chairs. I replaced it with a leather dinette booth (with seat belts only on the side facing forward) utilizing the existing Corian table. I purchased double recliners that will match the leather pattern on the dinette booth. My interior color is "Cream" not the one in the photo. I got talked into heated seating with back massagers, lock in tables (that are removable) for each seat and LED reading lamps that lock into the tables....DW and kids idea. I gave up my used search for the last 1.5 years and bit the bullet. I also ordered it with a seat belt kit for both seating positions. Both interior changes came from the place linked below and are designed for motorhomes (people can ride on the seating while the coach is in use). Once installed I will try and attach photos, these are a month and a half out. Link: http://shop4seats.com/rv-furniture/sofa-beds/double-recliners/de-leon-double-recliner.html

Herman, mine was so bad I had a vinyl nose bra made to cover it up. I am still going to remove it....or at least I think I am anyway. This is the type of work I dread, so I enlisted a friend that needs his used coach serviced to do the work on mine, since he is in the automotive body/paint industry I thought it was a fair trade off.

These guys also have motorhomes with multi bunk options: http://www.staleycoach.com/

Maintenance While Parked For Extended Periods
jleamont replied to judatt's topic in General Discussion
Kay, if you get bored and you are up this way please let me know. Always travel with Wine and Cheese, Beer (for me) and whatever Rum or Vodka drink the DW is in the mood for that week, lol -
I will have to remove the panel and see what's behind it, never thought of that. thanks

Nice job Puff! Funny, If I didn't know better I would think you owned my coach prior to me. My sewer hose is stored the same way above the propane tank, the previous owner mounted two sewer hose storage tubes with caps on the back side (so the hose doesn't fall out the other end). I just slide the hose in and the end will rest on the cross bar for the propane tank pointed at the ground. there is also a home made shelf (open grate) for couplers in the same compartment. I still use one of those slinky things for hose support, I do like your idea much better. I am in need of a better way to store my fresh hose. I have Camco quick connects on it now so I snap into the regulator, snap into the filter (it sits on a stand) and snap onto the hose that connects to the coach. the problem in my water supply bay has very little storage space and the hose rolled up connected to itself still doesn't fit.

Mike, did you work in Valley Forge late 80's early 90's?

I received my kit from WIPEOUT, I am thoroughly impressed! The kit came with safety goggles, full instructions for a do it yourself person rubber gloves all hand tools and chemicals to do the job, everything is labeled and organized and labeled in separate bags based off of each step in the removal process. Hopefully the product works as shown in their video......more to follow when it warms up.

Steve, so what you are saying is the 3" pipe is connected to the tank that is plumbed to the Grey tank? My guess is you noticed this when the 1.5" kept clogging with sewage?

Thanks Brett.
