Go online. There are some mfgrs in Elkhart and surrounding areas.

My experience with replacement cooling units has been less than good. We have done a number in our shop with less that perfect results. We usually wind up replacing the whole refrigerator.

If your book says that the ats snaps when you plug into shore power that means the gen is connected when the relays are relaxed.

Long-term Storage-- Gasoline Engine
desertdeals69 replied to ramblinboy's topic in General Discussion
Just put enough Stabil in the fuel for 2 years, I think that is 2 oz per gallon and be sure to run it enough to get the treated fuel in the engine and gen. Fog the engines with oil through the intake. -
Cummins ISL 400 versus Maxxforce 10 405 HP
desertdeals69 replied to mike27becky's topic in Buying an RV
I would consider parts and service availability between the two. -
No bad assumption, I have been wiring with gen priority for 37 years in our business. We made our own ats before they were readily available in the market place and anyone knew what one was.
-
It depends on how the jacks are mounted. If the body is solid mounted it shouldn't shake and if the body has springs and pivot to change the angle as the coach raises, they will wiggle.
-
The shore cord has priority when live. If the gen is running and the shore cord is live the shore cord will power the coach. The transfer relays are dpdt and it is not possible for the shore cord to feed 120v to the gen.
-
You need to be careful if you lower the coach and the ground is unlevel side to side because if the front is on the stops and you level the rear you may tweak the body and break the windshield. I did that.
-
When the gen is running the ATS relays are not energized.
-
You might check to see if the connections are tight.

We protected the front of our toad truck with camping mats and bungee cords. Zero damage and we went through Chicken!

Windshield Separating From Its Rubber Seal
desertdeals69 replied to goncolgo's topic in General Discussion
Is the windshield still solidly attached. If so you can get new rubber and use a black silicone type material to attach the rubber trim. Thats how the glass company did mine after replacing the windshields. -
When up there plan on driving slow. On roads with loose gravel when you see another vehicle coming at you slow way down and aim for shoulder to change the angle of attack of the rocks. We did this and had minimal damage.

Sounds like a good system. How do you know when the cell is full or over full?
-
I have a couple of extra fill bottles because I installed a gravity fed fill system that is plumbed to each cap with floats that indicate when its full. It has a gallon resevoir for distilled water and a shut off valve. All I do when it needs water is open the valve for a few seconds and watch the level gauge on each cap and when they are full close the valve.

Thanks for the info. I may have to try it, been using Wilson stuff for 13 years. I will check it out at CES in 2 weeks.
-
It will tow but you won't be very fast in the mountains. Level road it will be just fine.
-
I'm the one that said that.

Since the newer phones don't have an antenna jack Wilson has a pad the phone sets on. Its wired from the output of the amp.
-
Check with Wilson. I use their antenna and amp with a reasonable amount of success.

The same to you and yours. The thing we have to remember is that was some 30 years ago. They have made some inprovements since then!

I have seen residential refrigerators in RV's since the 70s. A lot of the bus conversion used them and a small number of production coaches and this was before the advanced inverters that are available today. One of the popular models was Amana, noted for its low current draw.

1992 Safari Serengeti-- Fresh Water Tank Drain?
desertdeals69 replied to russian's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
You could put a tee in the line to the pump and a valve, just make sure the level of the tee is low so it drains the tank as much as possible.
