Looking for a nice campground for Sept. After searching the entire US for a good retirement lake house we ended up around Caribou. So we will be real estate hunting. Already have a realtor to assist. We needed a dock so I can just jump into the lake without worrying that something will eat me and if I stand in 6" of water I can still see my toes!

Looks like I might need to throw a dart at the map, closet campground wins. Of course need the proper set up. Preferably 50a, but looking around might be 30a. And "very close" to salt water.

I've read a few posts on the toad needing brakes. How about if using a tow dolly with surge brakes? Is that sufficient? I can't seem to locate any info on that. Thanks.

We used to use flea and tick collars on our boots at ft hood.

Starting the planning on going to Nova Scotia in 2019. Anyone have any favorite campgrounds there with 50 amp and full hook up? And I will be finally dragging the toad. It will be all driving, no ferries. We live in NH so the ride "should be" good. Thanks, David

Made it back home. A lot of lessons learned. We went 95 almost the entire ride home, we bypassed DC and Baltimore. Believe it or not we blasted right through NYC and the GW bridge on Sat. Took the gamble and it paid off. We did screw up on the way there and ended up on some farm road before MB for about 1/2 hour, that was a treat as it was not wide enough for the MH and a car coming the opposite way. That was our 1st lesson. Total mileage to and from was approx. 2200 miles. Now that trip is behind us we are already to start planning the next. Queen is already talking Alaska, geez, ease up lady, lol. That will be after retirement which is another 6 yrs away. Probably do Nova Scotia next.Time to start another thread. BTW, I drove from 9am to midnight on the way home wired on coffee, never again. Got thrown out of Wally’s outside of Phil. Ended up at a service stop on NJTW.

Yes we were surprised how the trip went. This KOA is pretty nice. It was 1100 miles total. Did 65 to 75 mph pretty much the entire trip. Now it’s party time.

Left NH yesterday and stayed over outside of Richmond. Getting ready for the final trek. Yes the truck stops are creepy, ended up at wallys, lol. Quiet and secure.

We will probably end up in some corn field. Done that before but in a van.

I did research a couple of campgrounds approx. halfway. Also a couple of travel centers just in case. I think I'm more excited than stressed but that could change quickly. How did most of you feel on your first mileage journey? Kind of funny but it's like, do I need this, did I forget this, etc...

I filled the fresh water tank with 30 gal,. Should be plenty for the ride. I don’t know yet on the usage, thoughts? Just using it for the latrine duties.
