  1. To be classified a vehicle wouldn't it need a motor? Therefore, snowshoes are out but a snowmobile is in. Then the question becomes, would a dog be considered a motor for a dog sled? This is going to get very complicated but I have confidence the FMCA management team has carefully considered all the options and will inform us after the votes have been tallied. Sounds like a bill congress passed so they could find out what was in it.
  2. Come on, Carl. He is being proactive should the vote pass to allow all recreational vehicles to become members. Please notice he identified his RV as a Fleetwood Bounder, some may have an Ocean Kayak Frenzy, some a Schwinn Town & Country bike, etc. After all, they are by definition a recreational vehicle.
  3. Maybe this will help. https://www.clorox.com/dr-laundry/chlorine-vs-non-chlorine-bleach/
  4. I tend to agree with this statement. Why should I spend time recruiting a new member when FMCA doesn't do anything to recruit new members. I recently bought a new motorhome and there was information in the suitcase regarding CoachNet, what would it take to have information about FMCA included also? I'm a member of Good Sam's and its never been suggested I solicit new members. I gave up talking to people about becoming a member of FMCA when I couldn't come up with any valid reasons for them to be a member. Tires? My rig is 2 years old. Medical Assist? We don't travel that far from home. Rallies? We don't do rallies. National convention? We don't have three weeks of vacation available at one time. Bottom line, what is the value to the Generation X group and that is the group thats needed to lower the Medical Assist premiums. If the Generation X motorhome owners find no value in being a member of a motorhome club, why should a "recreational vehicle owner" find any value. Worse case scenario, trailers are allowed to join, who do you think will find a worthwhile benefit? The 70+ year olds pulling travel trailers because of the Medical Assist program. Now FMCA has a larger problem.
  5. If its Clorox Non-Chlorine Bleach then its Clorox = Hydrogen Peroxide.
  6. Well, believe it. The Dutch Star models and up have built in surge protection but they start in the $400,000's.
  7. Now thats funny. Well...I'm sure it isn't funny to you.
  8. Byron, if you check their reviews they are still getting very good reviews on customer service. As always, some people have issues that are of no fault of the manufacturer but need to find somebody to blame for their misuse of the product. My first one was the hard wired which was trouble free for 10 years and saved me several times from high/ low voltage and incorrectly wired campground pedestals. I expect the same results form the current one.
  9. I've had both Coachnet and Good Sams and I've had good and bad experiences with both. I truly believe it has everything to do with the person at the respective company that takes your call.
  10. Oh no....I had forgotten that stuff. Only one way, time to grow new skin. As I recall, I disposed of all my work clothes after that stint. I was 7 on 7 off working out of Galveston for Penrod Drilling.
  11. I'm sure Claudette, the OP, is wearing out gloves every day just as I did when I worked offshore one summer during college.
  12. I really don't know what it costs, Bill, if you say $39 I trust you looked it up. I just remembered reading about this planner that met most of the OP's needs. Like I reported, I've never used it. It makes no difference since the OP never visited the site after asking the question. Have a nice day.
  13. The reason they joined was for the tire program, however, they found a dealer that beat the FMCA program price. They voted yes to go along with management. Their words not mine. They will not renew their membership as they see no value. When I asked them about the assist program, they replied they never go more than a few hundred miles from home.
  14. Two things I'll point out, Carl. First, "she" was driving. Second, we were in the Big Bend "area" between Study Butte and Alpine where the speed limit is 70+ mph most places. There is too much beauty to drive faster than 45 mph while in the park, plus, there are a few dips than can be interesting even at that speed.
  15. I would like to pass along a comment from some new motorhome and new members of FMCA. "If we had read the forum on FMCA about letting towables become members we would have never joined." I can't help but wonder if FMCA is not getting some new members because they are reading this forum.
  16. Unfortunately for the other manufacturers, we drove the Newmar first. I was tremendously disappointed in both the quality and workmanship in the Fleetwood line-up. I drove Fleetwood, Thor, Winnebago and Tiffin. All in the 40-45 foot range with tag axle and there was no comparison. The XC Chassis with V-ride suspension and the steerable tag axle made a noticeable difference in body lean. I paid special attention to body lean yesterday as my wife was driving at 50 mph around some curves in the Big Bend area, there was no lean to the coach. The place mats never moved on the table. You're going to love the ride and drive of this coach.
  17. Congratulations! We purchased ours in August and have driven it almost 2500 trouble free miles. Just returned today from the Davis Mountains and Big Bend National Park where the wind howls this time of year. I drove 398 miles one day with a 20-30 mph with gusts to 45 mph. The Comfort Steer made the day a breeze - pun intended.
  18. I did see the sliver of the moon with Venus shining brightly Tuesday morning. Beautiful sight to see for sure....we're talking about the demise of the CC brand I believe.
  19. I took the easy way out and bought this one. I couldn't come up with an easy way to instal the fixed unit. http://www.progressiveindustries.net/ems-pt50x RV Safety Accessories on Ebay had the best price I could find at the time. Lifetime warranty.
  20. You should reward her with a flour for her help.
  21. Progressive Industries. Great customer service and lifetime warranty and its much more than just a surge protector. I've used them for over 10 years and I can't tell you the times its saved my coach from faulty wiring, low voltage and high voltage. BTW...I have the same coach as you. http://www.progressiveindustries.net/our-products
  22. Escapees has a great forum, in my opinion. I've even sold two toads and a towbar on their site. Lots of experienced rvers.
  23. Hey, guys.....we're getting off topic. I'm sure the OP is just waiting to come back and thank us for the information we've so gladly provided.
  24. I expected Bill to comment. He's always looking for his spell chequer.
