  1. Maybe try Seminole Campgrounds ? N.Ft Meyers....
  2. You could also try the organization... Boondockerswelcome.com for places all over North America
  3. We just returned from FL .. had temps at 105-109 (our thermometer reported 109-112) ... Best our 3 AC units could sustain was a drop of 23-25 degrees so we were fine up to 100-101 but above that with sun shinning in, it got warm inside the MH.....
  4. Could try Baileys Harbor...... Wisconsin Area Wanderers (Allegro Club) does a mini rally there each July and likes it.
  5. WOW - what a bummer ......beautiful unit .. hopeful it turns up somewhere soon not the worse for it's kidnapping ... Makes me wonder... does anyone know of a "chip" or similiar device that could be put in a hidden electrical circuit somewhere that would "report in" on demand?
  6. I just returned from a 3 month trip loop thru AL, FL,GA,Carolinas,Virginias,OH IL and WI.. Other than the Topsail Park issue, I liked how it performed and it's warnings / directions.. It correctly warned of a low clearance , two incidences of where I was apparently over the legal state length, (believe I'm at 63'), and speed limit changes,(and warnings), construction ahead, - and in one case ( intersection of 104/301 just north of Lady Lake FL) it clearly warned of low road clearance at a RR crossing... a REALLY bad one that had a road rise of probably 2 feet going over the tracks that would have torn everything out of the bottom of the MH..and if one had tried to make it over, would likely hang up the coach completely.... . it's probably the worst crossing over a set of railroad tracks that I've ever seen...... I saw two regular cars ( sports cars) turn around rather than attemting to drive over it also...It did have a warning sign about 50 feet in front of it but based on the condition of the scratches and groves on the pavement and rails, a lot of folks have not heeded the small warning... Having just left a storage area, I initially did not have this Rand on yet ... stopped in time, turned it on and it clearly told me I was in the wrong place .. turned around, went to a different crossing intersection , once over the tracks, I came back past that intersection and it warned me approx .5 miles ahead to NOT take that turn ( did not have a route in it.. just using the map part at that point) .....got really lucky - another lesson learned.
  7. You could also post this question on and/or join the iRV2 forum... they have a couple Freightliner specialists and a online chat session on Wed at 7PM for all things about Freightliner Chassis ....
  8. Bought one at FMCA rally in Madison...Have only used it on two short trips and now on a 2000 mile journey ... It has done fine and I like the settings .. Have had to tilt it a couple of times to see the screen because it blurs out in bright sunlight more than it should , and it missed the entrance to the TopSail State Park campground by about 3 miles .. Other than that, it has done well and I like the features of advance warning on speed limit changes, speed warnings, etc...
  9. Does look better this evening... still could be adjusted further for even easier navigation but getting there....
  10. About 2 weeks ago i noticed that the view of the topics / posts on this forum really turned weird and has stayed completely squeezed from the sides. Topic columns are far too thin, distorted - takes several inches vertically on the screen for each topic or post... but I've not been able to find anywhere to change the view or adjust the column settings. Was fine for many months, don't know of any changes to my computer, all other forums remain as always were... have Windows 7 operating system. Any suggestions ?
  11. With only 15A supply, or, if you have your loadshare setting to 15A or less, can it be restricted by the Zantrek system? - or - because of some other load ie: charger, rtc?
  12. Planning on making the trip for the Badger vs Illinois football game and thinking about using the MH... Game is Nov 19th in Champaign/Urbana ..... so avg temps shouldn't bother us as to water system.... Motels report as full and prices at $160/night for 2 is ridiculous... I would need 2 double rooms for 2 nights... makes that steep... Wondering if any of you there know of good campground in that area ... AND.. is there MH parking at University parking area for during the game ... 1) for just MH ... and 2) If I tow?
  13. Are you referring to the microwave clock - or - is there another one somewhere? If you are referring to the microwave clock .. and you can set it only to have it not stay set, it's probably because of the Zantrek load sense system being enabled when you are not on the gen or shorepower ?
  14. I'm hoping that's not the case... We've been using the Tom Tom 740 live and a Garmin I believe 365 for years... I ordered the RMCNally new 7" one to be delivered in October .. I liked the large display, the screen brightness and contrast, the Low clearance feature, and didn't notice any strong negatives.. updates after 2-3 years is approx $80, then free for life...
  15. If I understood the recent seminars correctly, the "boil over" experienced could just as well be from over filling the battery cells with the water to high - above the vent mechanism?
  16. Looks like you got several nice reccomendation .. we used the KOA and one in Custer Park.. also plan on seeing Devils Tower not far from there, Jewell Cave is really unique (reservations required for the tour) then of course The Black hills.
  17. Have been here - in 6 seminars so far - Batteries, Fire & Safety, and Cummins seminars great... great show - super nice new coaches on display, good hall filled with exhibitors - Performance show tonight by Double Grande was 1st Class... Expecting to fit three more good seminars tomorrow - Optimizing your MH Battery System, Hydronic Heating, and 1 more undecided...
  18. I thought that as you leave the forum, click on the "mark all forums as read" icon in upper right... then when you next return, click on the "view new content" .. and the only ones that pop up are the new ones..
  19. Can cancel this thread.. When I went to make offer on the 2008 Phaeton, it was sold... we ended up later in the week buying our current 2009 Allegro Bus so all is well.....
  20. My previous MH - a 2007 Winn. Voyage 35A had the Quikee Best Level system/jacks and did that intermittently.... all worked right and fluid was fine.. cleaned and dry lubed the jacks but still did it every now and then... was not an issue but concerning/annoying.. did not seem to be related to temp / weather, etc.. seemed like when I planned to take it in for dealers analysis, it would not happen for days/weeks again...
  21. The first two times I had this same question, it was because I had shut off the water pump ... is that possible ?
  22. The best one I know about is the Slide-Master made by Innovative Industries - Antigo WI.... I don't have theirs because my 2009 AB already came with 3 others already installed in the basement compartments .. but I know them and their slides ... They will be at the upcoming FMCA in Madison ..... You can contact them through: http://www.slide-master.com/ or I would be happy to pass your contact info on to them - IF you want.....
  23. Have had Coachnet for a while and thankfully have not had any occassions of need so can't comment on services BUT... just traded coaches and considering Blue Sky insurance with full roadside assistance... any one have experience good or bad by comparison to Coachnet ?
