  1. I run the gen at least a couple hours a month... usually try to load it with either 1 or 2 A/C pr a couple 1500 watt heaters... Its a early 2009 with approx 450 hrs on it right now... obviously , I need to be running it more and hope to be doing more of it... I suspect this 80 hrs /yr would be considered "normal" usage...
  2. How about if for that trip you leave the handgun behind and take a shotgun along instead..... I understand those can be declared, registered, and traveled with in Canada....Registration is available on the internet.
  3. I've use Pressure Pro on Jeep towed rubber stems for 5 years without an issue.....
  4. Is it possible you left the filter in when you winterized .... or didn't empty the filter canister after the fresh water started coming thru?
  5. Amazon also has them - $9.99 I made 3 for my use by using 72 pt font on excel spreadsheet, printed onto yellow paper, laminated....stuck onto adhesive magnetic sheets....can stick on car doors or by putting a piece of clear shipping tape on top folded over, they can be put in front windows hanging inside facing out by using window to grip the tape into the top window grove.... works for me so far...
  6. We've had Dish for several years in house and in RV.. had problems initially (probably operator error) has been working great for past 2 years.since we upgraded everything to HD .... like being able to make a tech call whenever we move locations and get all local channels wherever we are... Have Big ten network and found out that even tho we have it, the BTN isn't broadcast outside of mid-US.... that may change ..I was however available on Direct TV even in FL and AL....
  7. I typically have an all out war with rodents ..My MH sits on gravel along the garage with woods next to us.....very rural... On the inside of the MH, I have 3 electronic buzzers, use peppermint oil (real stuff) in 5-6 locations, use Irish Spring in 8-10 locations, have over 100 Bounce sheets (in every cabinet, closet, drawer, etc... 2 electric new "shock traps", and approx 16 sticky traps .. which I monitor every 2-3 days.. I won't use any poisons because I don't want corpses left around nor do I want to kill others in the food chain that might eat them later.... In the compartments below, I have sticky traps in every one, with approx 10 baited mouse traps... I do put one drop of bait in center of each sticky trap.... Outside by the tires under the coach, I have two baited outdoor spring loaded compartment traps.... and one or two of the "ultimate bucket traps" .... Still worry about engine area...... I usually catch several outside critters, a few inside lower compartments... and rarely one inside .... BUT they got me last fall..... found the obvious indicators when we got geographically winterized .... chewed up a sleeping bag under bed, toilet paper under sink, and left traces - had to do some extra cleaning.....Found a couple corpses that had managed to relocate their personal sticky trap so I think I got even but lucky it wasn't worse....In the market for more outside lures traps....
  8. Supposedly my compressor also goes up to 120, then idle until 100 when it kicks back in....Taking rears up to 102 haven't been a problem.... I have tried twice to take my fronts up to 118 cold but have not been able to..... I release the air until the compressor starts up and when it gets to approx 110, I put the air hose on the tire... I've held it on until the compressor kicks off at 118-120 but then when I check the PSI of the tires, they were only at 115... and I'm pretty sure of the gauges being correct or within +/- 1# ...... I thought that if the compressor went up to what it's gauges say was 118-120, the tires should have gone up to that point also ??
  9. If you're thinking about going down to San Antonio, consider going to Fredricksburg ..nice German heritage city, good food spots, several RV campground in area... GREAT museum of the South Pacific War .... best war museum ever..... and of couse it's in wine country, right next to Lukenbach Texas.. Austin also nice city to drive around in for a day.....
  10. Contact Slidemaster.... made by Innovative Industries - Antigo, WI .... Brian Pease is owner.. Andrew Hesserdahl is Pres ? Will make any size needed ...
  11. The Patriot Blue Ox system works well for me ..
  12. If they are MCDs, good chance if it's not the remote controller battery, it may be the chassis battery below 11.6..... Had similiar problem last month and was surprised to find my chassis batteries had been run down..
  13. Is it possible that you have power in the outlets not in a slide - but only the slide outlets are dead? Are you positive that the electrical supply plug for all the outlets in the slides has not been pulled out or gotten jarred out? Each slide's outlets have their power supplied by a plug in an outlet mounter in the ceiling of the compartments under the respective slide... crawl in, look up
  14. Not exactly your same situation but wife and I decided to try the RV traveling lifestyle (not full time) when I turned 65...had not camped or RVed before.... bought 36 ft gasser that was a year old but new..good price discount.- good resale market... After 2 years, we were "more" comfortable, decided to continue traveling with it and moved up to 40+ ft DP - felt we had very good trade-in situation and it worked out for us...... Glad we went the way we did... learning curve was about as steep as I could have handled .... still finding challenges every trip ... Thinking we might go "almost FT" in another 2 years or so...won't need to upgrade further .. but might anyway..... especially if I win the lottery soon...... Thank God for the Forum Advisors and community...
  15. Will certainly get a variety of opinons and reccommendations but to learn more about the Phaeton from Phaeton owners, you should go on the forum for Tiffin owners.... http://www.tiffinrvnetwork.com/forum/index.php
  16. I'm hosting a rally in Northern WI for a couple clubs in June 2014 otherwise I was hoping to make that trip in June/July/Aug of 2014..... Now thinking about June/July/Aug 2015 may be the time... I'll keep an eye on this one..
  17. Have some friends that happened to stay there for a few weeks last year..... they are going back for 3 months.. We've previously stayed at Seminole (Ft Meyers), then Pelican Lake (Naples), then Crystal Lake (Naples) but going to do the new Myaaka River Motorcoach one this year - high hopes......
  18. Apparently, you are planning on visiting the CN side as well.... What's your time frame? We're in northern WI ... Have been along several of the Lake shore areas also but not all... One pretty good source for info might be at http://www.lakesuperior.com.... I have their Lake Superior Travel Guide ... WI Dells area is truly a commercial recreation area, Door County is very scenic, Sites in WI that are unique special sites would include House on the Rock in Spring Green, Kovac Planetarium in Monoco, WI... If you're passing thru our area, I could certainly offer you a place to pause and take in the sights around our area... Could send me a PM.
  19. Have all Blue Ox also .. have never had an issue ... just always start out slowly and can tell the towbars lock when you feel the little jolts... ... Like said above, it really wouldn't matter whether you pull MH forward or back toad... but I just make sure my MH start is gentle, and can always "feel" them lock in place.
  20. You may want to go to the Tiffin forum for information on their models ... I do not have any information on your question - had a Ford V10 on my 2007 Winnebago 36 Voyage and liked it but went to the DP just with a little more size, power for the mountains, etc... but the V10 worked fine for Yellowstone trip and all over midwest...
  21. Many to choose from ...Canyon Vistas in Gold Canyon SE of Apache Junction is nice and well situated for tons of activities and site.
  22. Have been at Mill Creek Campgrounds this week ... leaving tomorrow...... Huge, nice place .... convenient ...
  23. I'm having new tires put on tomorrow .... and talked with them today to make sure they ALWAYS lift both front at same time... They do handle thousands of new tire mountings every year but said they had never heard of a windshield cracking during that process... ( but they have always lifted full front so it wouldn't apply there).... I feel better having checked... suspect your post will cause a lot of folks to double check if and when they need tires... Hope your insurance helps a lot...
  24. Bummer that it occurred for whatever reason.... but I suspect you knew the best answer before you posted the question.... Most likely it would be safe in you were always traveling with a tail wind and never met another vehicle going the opposite direction in a near by lane nor experienced a gust of wind.. Is the strength and integrity of the windshield compromised ? Some winshirlds have been known to "pop" out / in .. might be a surprise you don't want to risk.
  25. Do you have a load share setting in your power management unit that would prevent both running at same time - ie .. set to only allow 25 A ?
