You might look at the 4x4 J box where the generator wiring interconnects with the coach wiring that runs to the ATS. The vibration can loosen the connections in side the box. Make sure there is no power from shore power or the generator before working in this area. Rich.

Collision Reset, Ford E-450, Jayco 283G Class c
dickandlois replied to SEAN1951's topic in Type C Motorhomes
The sensor tends to be kind of intermittent. Reading up on it and they can be triggered by the slightest bump or not go of if hit with a hammer. So You might contact a ford truck service center and see if the part is covered in some way or what other options are available. Some owners use the switch as a way to deter the theft of the truck by tripping it. You know where it is located so I'm not going there. Hope this helps. Rich. -

2014 Tiffin Phaeton Remote For Door Lock
dickandlois replied to novi2some's topic in Type A motorhomes
Not Sure, but the other point to check is the spring contacts between the door and the door frame . If that is the way your system is wired, the contacts get dirty and the power from the controller and the door solenoid is not making good contact. Rich. -
Dash Air Temperature Rises As Speed Increases
dickandlois replied to raibourn's topic in Type A motorhomes
The increase in the Temperature could also be related to the increased coolant temperature. The scenario could be - the seal between the heater section of the AC / Heater box is not sealing completely. Bad seal material, poor application of the seal material, Wrong material, improper thickness of the material, bad adjustment and settings of the door / gate , defective vacuum actuator and or a low or restricted vacuum - that does not allow for adequate travel of the actuator. Try running the AC in recirculate mode. This closes the system to outside air flow. This limits the heat built up in the engine compartment. With a Diesel pusher - outside air temperature is what you get The mixing box is setup so the outside air enters over the AC evaporator first then into the heater section to set the desired temperature and to also lower the heat in cold weather when one is in the defrost setting. A preset point of heat to cold. Rich. -
I have been doing some restoration work on a classic car and truck and wanted to replace all the fuel and brake lines. Found a supplier that can shape and form kits for an extensive number of gas powered vehicles. They might also make up specific lines for Diesel Powered Coaches. The lines can be purchased in kits for both fuel and hydraulic applications. Have the year, make, model and the fuel tank configuration is needed is some cases - Duel fuel tanks or duel tanks where one section gravity feeds the tank that has the fuel pump or the supply connection point. They make them up in Stainless Steel or Common Steel line material. They also make stainless steel braided flexible hydraulic lines that connect the calipers or break cylinders to the ridged lines. Options for the Dune Buggy or Rock Hoppers. Have not to date, asked about transmission lines or oil cooler lines, but I have a feeling they can also supply them. So if you're one of many coach owners that are restoring or just want or need lines to keep them running and safe to use this might be a possible solution. If you are not the one doing this work or it is not in the skill sets. The service center or mechanic might be a better bet regarding placing an order. Info/Manuals For ‘97 Overland By Odessa
dickandlois replied to kenandbev's topic in Type A motorhomes
Ken , Welcome to the FMCA Forum Not sure this will help, but the coach most likely was built on an Oshkosh chassis. and Oshkosh was bought out by Freightliner. Any Vin or chassis numbers might help nail that portion down. Note some of the chassis manuals have survived. Regarding the owners manual - you might try to locate a Odessa / Overland Group on the web. This is the only one I have located - but it might be a starting point. http://www.irv2.com/forums/groups/46-overland+owners+group.html Rich. -
Ken, welcome to the FMCA Forum ! Your plan and thoughts looks good ! The one item that you need to keep an eye on - is the water level ! Because when the timer turns on the charger it goes into bulk charge, then charge to float level charge. The 454 series PDF file is attached. This is a Modified Sine wave inverter / charger system. Cary. Welcome to the FMCA Forum! Most of the OEM wiring will work fine. There can be an issue with the Turn signal, brake and marker lights talking to each other. When you apply the brakes other lights may come on, When you energize the turn signals or 4 ways other lights might flash. Some replacement LED assemblies come with Blocking / Steering Diodes built into them. If you want to use the OEM light fixtures for the above mentioned circuits, you will need to install diodes at each fixture for the Turn, 4 way, brake lights and marker lights. The change out to LED's inside should not be an issue. Its the little things that get you. LED's are polarity sensitive, but many of the more expensive ones have circuits built into them that solves that issue. Not sure, just ask questions - some real good people on the forum that can answer most if not all of them ! Rich.

Carl, Think that Homefree lives in Canada, and stays in the Southwest during the winter. So he might be on the road towards a warmer spot. Rich.

Took so time to read up on the Ford power steering and it sure looks like they have been having some real issues with it. Not being really well informed with the electric power operation. There have been issues with it on other makes. When they have been used as towed vehicles. Ford appears to have had problems with the electric steering racks binding when turning to the left. Not that it is the issue here, but something is off. When you are towing the C-Max is the ignition switch turned to the run position so the steering wheel is unlocked? Does this keep the steering system powered? Should that be the case,is the steering system trying to self center when being towed ? Causing a resonant wobble that continues to get more violent? Are you towing a C-MAX Hybrid1 or C-MAX Energi1 ? From one of the Ford forums discussing the regen braking system. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/1567-regenerative-braking/ Posted 24 May 2013 - 02:08 PM Regen does not work in reverse or in neutral. The friction brakes are actuated in these events. You can easily show this by shifting into neutral while doing a full regen stop. You'll feel a slight jolt as the regen comes out and the friction comes in. So does the transmission need to be in neutral when being towed ? Rich.

JIT, These are the different models of some of the Onan 5000 size. Having mentioned that with the information and year of the coach. I'm leaning towards the Marquis Gold series. If you can clarify things with the Onan Series and model numbers. There are also 5000 watt model' s with model numbers ending in BGA and Ckk This link might be of some help. https://www.flightsystems.com/pdf/onan-rv-troubleshooting-guide.pdf An afterthought - Most RV generators use the Chassis batteries to start, there are exceptions where the coach / house batteries are used. Think the builders are thinking it more likely to discharge the coach batteries then the chassis battery bank. The BCC control unit information that I have located is Attached - Note ! the address is the same as the OEM supplier, but it appears that it is now referenced as(Thor) T-1020. There is no wiring in the BCC related to the Generator start circuit, So it looks like the Chassis batteries supply the 12 volts. TH-1020 Troubleshooting guide.pdf Fleetwood link to some OEM BCC parts http://fwc.fleetwoodrv.com/plant91Files/Word Documents/Battery Controlspage2.htm

The numbers you posted- F73-1020 is for the BCC. Could you post the make and model of the generator for the group? The electrical wiring and control modules change and with the proper information, it might be easier to offer some better information. Rich.
-
JIT10, Welcome to the FMCA Forum ! The one item to check - even though the generator started 24 hrs. ago, is the connections at the batteries in the coach. Not knowing exactly what point you used to jump start the genset with the car battery ! At the generator battery connections or in the battery bay of the coach? Rich.

Low Air Alarm, Even With Normal Air Pressure
dickandlois replied to williames's topic in Type A motorhomes
You might try this link and ask the question. The alarm system is often designed to monitor more then one system and that has been noted in some of the responses to your question. Send a question to. Might ask for the electrical PDF files that cover what systems the alarm is monitoring. http://www.holidayrambler.com/technical-assistance Rich. -
Five ! The term Oasis is kind of misleading. The basic format to be listed as an Oasis, requires the service center to have a Drivers lounge, Coffee, Vending machines and bathrooms. Freightliner does not make any reference to the centers being setup for Level RV parking with power or water. Now ! have used one in the Midwest that had all the listed items and had a wonderful setup with a large pond with a bridge leading to a Gazebo on an island. Nice !! and the shop was very helpful, still had to set for a 2 days before they got me in. Rich.

LCi does list a controller that apparently controls both the jacks and the slides and I had never run into that type of setup before. So when you mentioned the slide system with the jacks. It sure through me a curve. The LCI module has a different style connection for the control pad - the other connections looked the same. So maybe an adapter cable can be made to interface things. Not knowing if there unit is built for TT and Fiver's. You might want to ask if a different / or larger hi current relay needs to be installed between the hydraulic pump and there controller? Coaches tend to weigh more the the trailers. Good luck Rich

Charles, Been out in OK. hunting Quail and Pheasant and when the soil gets wet it turns into a kind of glue and one can gain 2 or more inch's in height. LOL We just call it Gumbo. So it is necessary to use some high pressure to clean the bottom of equipment, but it is a little much for some equipment. Might want to check the air cleaner on the generator and see if it is still in one piece . Bet it is very wet though. Rich. Got a brother named Charles and I just call him Chuck. At least his nick name is still Politically correct !!!

Hi Joe, Kind of looks like a Time Delay Relay used in furnaces. Can not tell for sure, but take a look at this link. https://www.ebay.com/i/181685651034?chn=ps&dispctrl=1 Rich. Let me know and I think I can fill you in on the connections. Remember where they go if you remove the old one. Pictures are always good!

Bowdenrisl Could you post the Model of your coach? 8356, 8386 or 8710. (has hydraulic slides for galley and living) The slides are controlled by a different control panel - Correct? Rich. Think this is the system manual for you model coach. https://www.lci1.com/assets/content/support/manuals/pg_82_L0377.pdf

This is a link to the manual that covers this system. No luck regarding the Touch panel yet, but looking at one that might be a replacement. Just not sure. Look over the options covered in the manual - I just have not seen any information on a Touch pad that also controls the slides. Got to admit that I'm a little confused. Looking at the 1179 panel and do not see any reference to a slide out on it https://www.lci1.com/assets/content/support/manuals/pg_82_L0327.pdf Rich.

Bowdenrisl, Welcome to the FMCA Forum ! The automatic leveling system - part number 140-1170 has been replaced by part number 140-1228. Link to Tip sheet to setup the 140-1228 replacement for the 140-1170. https://www.lci1.com/assets/content/support/sheets/pg-82-L0317-T.pdf This is a link to the information. https://www.lci1.com/assets/content/support/sheets/pg-3010000042.pdf Parts and service manual link to the Automatic system info https://www.lci1.com/assets/content/support/manuals/pg_82_L0327.pdf Parts and service manual link to the manual system info. https://www.lci1.com/assets/content/support/manuals/pg_82_L0377.pdf Hope this helps. Note, Sometimes the chips used in equipment are discontinued, so you might need to up grade the control board if that is where the problem is. The second option is to check and see if the older one can be located at a salvage yard. Rich.

bdlersham, Welcome to the FMCA Forum. Condensation issues with the coach closed up during cold weather changes everyone. Leaving the cabinets open helps and also keep items warmer helping to prevent items from freezing. Many use some sort of dehumidifier to remove the moisture. Some are passive(Absorption) others use a small house dehumidifier. Rich.

Suburban NT-32CD Furnace Blower Motor
dickandlois replied to richard5933's topic in Systems and Appliances
Richard, Sounds like a plan ! The way technology changes and the infiltration into everything we buy is mind boggling. The interdiction of all that technology has resulted in some good items and some that are just impossible to maintain with out the proper test equipment. $$$$ There was a time when one could set in the engine compartment and eat you lunch, now if you can get you hand or even a finger on something is all but impossible with out removing things. Good luck ! Rich M. New is not always better, but we tend to love bling.
