Vincent, No AC but Do the Fans run? on the units? There is a low voltage control issue and with all 3 units fans not operating or no AC. The problem is at a point common to all of them. That kind of points to a common control point. From the information I have - it looks like all the unit have a 3 amp fuse and this size fuse is common size for a 12 volt DC circuit. the Flat telephone style cables are seldom used to supply any power just logic signals. Could you post the model of the Generator ? Have You recently changed the coolant? How many hrs. on the unit? How Old is the coach the generator is in and is the generator mounted on a slide out ? Rich.

Robert, I have been remiss - forgot that you might want to check the fuel lift pump pressure also. Some engines are setup so you can attach the pressure gauge others are not and fuel pressure is important. When was the last time that was checked? Rich.

When did the fuel filters get changed last? ECM's do not fail often and I have a feeling it is trying to tell you something, even though you are apparently not getting a check engine code. Air filter was last changed, when ? Rich.

Just found out that they(CW) are closing the Gander Mountain store in our area and the store -that they bought back about 8 years ago, was sold back to the original family owners and that is a good thing. They(the original)owners where in business for years and treated there customers very well. The real kicker is many of there employs left after the CW takeover and have now comeback to work for the family operation. Speaks volume's regarding how employees felt ! Rich. -
Just read on the RV Village group - that the office has decided to allow attendees with day passes to attend the seminars. Over all a good thought, but if we have members that want to attend a seminar with limited setting and have paid the full price for the Rally and can not get in to the one or ones they want. There might be some very upset people. How will this issue be resolved, many might signup prior to the seminar, if they have the list before arriving, but that information is distributed when attendees arrive and some of the seminars are well attended - with only one time slot in some cases ! Just trying to be proactive on this one. As the day passes have never been allowed to attend the seminars in the past as far as I know. Rich.

Herman, Changing out to a different brand does not always work. Ran into that problem when setting up long distant learning centers a few times. one needs to have both models they are interested in, in the same room. Then one would run into interference from LED lighting or florescent lights. The only way to allow full feature usage was to add in some specific control equipment. solved some of those issues with RF signal controllers within a specific frequency band(s) depending on what frequencies where not being used is a distance far enough away. It was always challenging. Using multi-band codex equipment worked the best, but that salutation is way beyond the norm. Both cost wise and space requirements in a coach. We tend to want to have all the whistles and bells with very crowded spectrum's. Rich.

DBathurst. The real problem starts with the controls using the same IR transmitted control codes. Both IR receivers react to the transmitted codes. The only way to make them both work is to blind them both, by using a LED mounted directly over each receiver - then attaching a fiber optic cable to each remote controller placed at a location that one will use to control each set . One looses the capability to just move the controllers around. The second possibility gets more involved. One would need to convert one of the sets to receive only a Green or other IR signal, that the other set will not see and ignore any signal except for the unit used with that TV. Going into reprogramming the second sets microprocessor and transmitter is beyond most people, because the transmitted binary codes need to be totally different. Like one set understanding English and the second one understanding French. Rich.

Joeallied, Welcome to the FMCA Forum ! With the new coach, there should be a stack of information covering the equipment installed in the coach; with owners manuals. There is a steep learning curve for any new or used coach for the buyer. That is where all those manuals come in handy ! The Auto Gen Start is controlled by Xantrex , Magnum or some other charger / inverter manufacture and there should be instructions on programming the Auto start. Who's equipment installed sets how the system is programmed to use the auto start function. Lubing the seals in most cases needs to be done twice a year unless the coach is exposed to a dirty environment, like dust storms or dusty road conditions. Rich.

edmck, The inverter will only draw the current required to meet the load requirements. So there is very little chance of overloading it. Thinking it will last as long as you need it. AT 2500 watts the unit is only working at 50% Rich.

My thought is the inverter is around 2500 and 3500 watts because it has 4 120 volt out lets and it might power the refrigerator if it has been replaced with a home model ! The person that replaced the unit might also have wired it directly to an outlet for the refrigerator. Rich

Bill, just realized there is a quick test - to see if by chance there is a neutral and a ground wire cross connected. With the coach disconnected from shore power - using an Ohm meter ( no power and the generator not running) measuring between the ground pin and the neutral wire should read an open circuit. THE Only time they are connected is when you are connected to the power riser !!! Rich.

Kind of looks like a Power Bright Power Inverter. Just by chance could you take a picture of the top label using a mirror? even if it is upside down and reversed - I might be able to decipher enough information. Rich.

Wingman, one more it them that you might want to consider is an oil analysis to see if there is some unusual material in the oil sample. Regardless of the situation - when we pull off - the engine idles until the oil pressure rises and the manifold has time to cool. The boost pressure on our coach is always changing between 5 and 15 psi. even on fairly level roads and the exhaust temps are hotter then one would expect. Rich.

edandviv, Welcome to the FMCA Forum ! Kind of thinking you have a rear Radiator setup? That being the case - the Radiator and THE CAC are bolted together and go in as a unit. One needs a location to work and the proper tools for this job. Some real tight areas and allot of items to remove. Taking pictures and good notes on the removal sequence is advised! Rich.

Bill, You might Test the coach wiring by doing this. Open the Main Breakers in the AC panel - Connect the shore power cord. Does the GFI trip ? Yes or No ? Did the Surge protector go green ? If The Shore power GFI still trips with the mains open - The you need to check the wiring between the shore power input, transfer relay and the main breaker box are correct and tight. If everything is OK - then check the shore power cable connections or just barrow one from a friend and see if things work or not - if things work it is something in the shore cable. GFI does not trip, turn on one of the main breakers(if 50 amp setup) did the GFI trip? No, turn off that brearker. If it trips turn off that barker, rest the GFI Turn on the second Main breaker, Does the GFI trip? Yes or No? If the shore power GFI does not trip when only one side of the Main breakers closed at a time. Turn on both and see if the GFI trips. No! then by turning off the mains - connecting to shore power shore with the mains open and then turning on the mains is the way to allow the surge protector time to connect and get power. If the GFI only trips when one of the mains is turned on - That is the circuit the GFI does not like. Open all the sub breakers on that main and turn them on one at a time - until the GFI trips, you just found the circuit that has an issue. If the GFI only trips when both mains are on then there is an issue between the neutral and grounds between the 2 main breakers that the GFI is sensing. Make sure all the neutrals are on a common buss and all the Grounds are on a common buss! No neutrals or common ground connections mixed between the 2 buses. Make sure All the Connections on the Neutrals and grounds are tight. Bill, just realized there is a quick test - to see if by chance there is a neutral and a ground wire cross connected. rhinderber, The inverter should maintain all the presets and startup with the same setting. Your model year chassis has fuel injection and the fuel pump will build up pressure before the engine starts. So the leak could be anywhere between the fuel tank and the engine. The pump should stop once the fuel pressure reaches the preset shutoff pressure and if the system is leaking, the fuel pump will start up and cycle when the full pressure drops even with the engine off. IF the pump cycles only when the engine is running - the leak is after the pressure switch and in a injector line, the injector or the fuel return line. Rich.

Interesting - They do use GFI units on some Marina's to keep people safe swimming in the area around the boat(s). They just built a new Marina in our area and they required them per our local electrical code. What part of the country are you located and by chance do they have a local code requiring GFI protection? Rich. The real issues is that if required by code, then they defeat the Surge Guards, because they place a high resistance circuit across the incoming Loads to test circuit wiring is correct. Bill-Do you by chance have a 50 to 30 amp adapter that you can plug into and see if the GFI circuit trips using only one side L-1 or L-2 . Thing is you would need to if the coach is wired for 50 amps to convert back to a connection the coach could plug into. Kind of thinking out loud on this one.
