  1. Lyle, We just run ours on LP and if it quits - Then it will be time to replace the old girl ! The refrigerator of coarse - not the DW. Rich.
  2. Got to ask how old the batteries are and if all the connections are clean and tight? Hart source manager inverter / charger information. Rich. Source_Manager_II_Owner's_Manual_(1).pdf
  3. See if you can find a install / service manual for the unit. Covers it well. On the road and that info is not at my finger tips. Rich.
  4. A Frequency meter should offer some helpful information. Rich.
  5. The item I have run into is that many of the shops do not like to do repair work on them, due to the fact that they need the drop the generators out the bottom to service them. So check with the Onan shops to see if they are equipped to do the job. Rich
  6. Bill, over looked the fact that the generator circuits run through a the ATS and in many cases a delayed transfer relay for the second 120 volt circuit. That relay is often located in the secondary circuit panel and it could be an issue if the contacts are fused together due to high current draw of the roof AC unit often connected to that relay. A item worth checking ! due to the common neutral and chassis ground, only other point I can think of that might be causing the short between the neutral and chassis ground when disconnected from the shore riser and when the generator is running or when the inverter is running. Rich.
  7. Hi Bill, The part that has me confused is you measure a short between the neutral and ground when the inverter is running and not plugged into the shore riser. From my understanding of the inverter operation / there is no reason for the inverter to cause a connection between the Neutral and ground. NOTE. only the L1 leg supplies power to the charger portion and the L2 leg is only active when connected to the shore power riser. The L2 leg output is not powered from the inverter. The only time both L1 and L2 are both hot is when the coaches are equipped with 2 inverters and not connected to a riser. Inverters can be connected in series or parallel. The 3000W units have inputs for both L1 and L2 Note- I do not have the wiring or install manuals for your model charger / inverter ! Rich.
  8. wrkey! Where on the road and if I'm slow to respond - it is just the lack of WIFI. Page change so I need to learn how to Edit or add info to an existing post. LOL Rich.
  9. wrkey, Welcome to the FMCA Forum ! There is No true ECM on the 1993 454. There is a mechanical advance spring set up under the distributor cap. Also, unless the engine system has been updated; there is a vacuum advance unit attached to the metal base under the cap. The top item is to replace ALL the vacuum lines. The age and the high temperatures dry out the rubber lines and they crack like an egg. Google -1993 454 distributor vacuum diagram-- some good pictures that might help. Rich.
  10. The price for 6 XZA2 Energy should be 509.81 x 6 =$3058.86 For the tires only - unless they mixed the stiles. So what tires did they put on ? The price listed for the TN. outlet of $367.08 - is it for the XZA2 Energy? I have to believe that is a price with no F.E.T Rich
  11. The total charge on your CC out the door would include the mounting and balancing fees if applicable. That information should be listed as labor and materials on you billing invoice. plus any taxes on the invoice as well. The 509.81 includes the FET Tax. Rich.
  12. Lyca1, Welcome to the FMCA Forum ! Think you might need to reset the unit. link 1 http://smallbusiness.chron.com/reset-magellan-gps-55247.html Link 2 technical support. http://support.magellangps.com/support/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=view&parentcategoryid=301&pcid=282&nav=0,281,282 Rich.
  13. Jim, Grizzly is a nice place to use as a base outside the park. Stayed there a few years back. Hope it is as neat and clean as it was then. One can walk into town with ease. Went on many fly fishing trips in the area. The Old Yellowstone Hotel served up some fine food when we where last there. The DW is a great cook, but it is nice to give them some time off. When shopping look at the stores on the back streets for food items. Rich.
  14. smsdavis, Welcome to the FMCA Forum. Been trying to find information on the coach and with it being so new. There is very little information on the web. From what I have found - it looks like the coach is a Diesel power unit with an electric Fireplace and 2 propane furnaces, with a heat pump system setup for the bedroom. • Energy Management System (EMS) w/Soft-Start With this type of setup there should be 12 volt power panel powering a control module for the heating and cooling located somewhere near the middle of the coach.Think you might call Fleetwood. The AC breaker panel and the 12 volt fuse panels are generally located in the same area. CONTACT US To locate a dealer near you, visit our website at www.fleetwoodrv.com or call 1-800-322-8216. We can also be contacted at Fleetwood RV Customer Relations, P.O. Box 1007, Decatur, IN 46733. Wish I could have found more info or offered some better information Rich.
  15. bobbyks, Have you ever changed the batteries? The fact that both the generator or the Cummins will not start and the chassis batteries are the primary source of starting power for both engines. I would check the voltage when trying to start the the generator and the chassis engines. A voltage reading of below 11.5 volts would indicate weak batteries, there is the possibility of corroded cable connections, but it takes a lot more current to start the bigger engine. Rich.
  16. Walt, Welcome to the FMCA Forum! The Kia Niro hybrid looks like an urban concept car from the information. With electric drives, most have a problem when being towed, because the electric motors are connected directly to the wheels. The motors use DC power and the strong magnets generate current levels that can damage the motors or wiring when being towed 4 wheels down. One could always trailer one. Rich.
  17. larsonk, Welcome to the FMCA Forum! The year the coach was built would help. On the newer ones they use a mixing valve to set the hot water temperature and over time the mineral deposits build up and clog the mixing valve. The fact that you mention having a normal flow rate for the cold water would tend to indicate that the valve is no longer working properly. One can be purchased for a number of plumbing outlets. The coach builders cut corners when possible to keep the cost down. If you can remove the part to match it up is a good way to eliminate multiple trips. Rich.
  18. n3bud, Welcome to the FMCA Forum ! It is hard to make a real good option to repair the hinge without seeing the setup. Could you possibly take some pictures and attach them to a post. The old saying that a picture is worth a 1000 words sure fits you issue. Rich.
  19. Roadking, I have rebuilt my water pump twice by ordering the proper rebuild kit. No special tools, just need to clean the area around the pump well so no dirt gets into the area. If you have worked replacing parts in a water valve - it is not that much more complicated, work carefully getting things lined up and do not over tighten the screws. Most of the assembly is plastic. The hardest part might be getting the pump out so you can work on it and making sure you know how to reconnect the electrical. Rich.
  20. Joe, In your post you mentioned doing some welding - regarding the hold down brackets. The CAN logic circuits used for system Data do not like power spikes !!! So, make sure you isolate them. The best way would be to remove the battery trays from the coach to weld the clips. They used to mention removing the Data cables from the TCM and ECM when welding on the chassis. Considering the number of modules now used on the system it might be difficult to do that. A call to the chassis builder might be in order, to see if they have a set protocol for using a welder. Rich.
  21. rscormier, welcome to the Forum ! By size it is not only the 22.5 in. but the width also, like 7-1/2 in., 8 in. 8 1.2 in. This measurement can change the clearance between tires on the rear and affect the turning radius also. Rich.
  22. bmiller260, Welcome to the FMCA Forum ! Could you post the make of your electric steps and Model if possible. Rich.
  23. Brett, My fuel tank, propane, gray / black and fresh water are all located between the rear and front axles ? Rich.
  24. nboston, When traveling the freshwater tank starts around 3/8's of a tank and the black and gray tanks are empty for the most part. We have never run short of water when on the road. When we know we will be dry camping(no water at the location) the fresh water tank is filled and the black and gray tanks are emptied. Running with only 30 gallons of fresh water reduces the weight by 560 lbs. and empty B and G reduces the load 800 lbs. Rich.
  25. Elee, Welcome to the Forum! Your coach has the 6.7L engine equipped with the DEF system. Personally thinking it is more related to the DEF system then the diffuser if it has the same ID as the OEM part. Do you have the code(s) that set the Check engine light. Rich.
