  1. Here is proof of the ole adage about ice cream and spicy food . I would loved to have had a video of it. Spoke to Shalom, they are in Florida. The explosion split a seam at the top. He has cleaned up the mess and has had the tank dumped. Herman can't find either a replacement or someone to do the work. I offered Colaws in Missouri and finding a shop that can do plastic welding. Sorry, but to quote Jeff Foxworthy, "I'd pay 10 Bucks to see that". Herman
  2. 414 give FMCA a call and they can walk you through the process. Let me know what area you call home and I will make sure one or more chapters contacts you. Welcome to the Family. Herman
  3. Sundance 44, Welcome to the Forum. One thing you need to add to your list is to have a TransAxle on order.? When a manufacturer says that the vehicle can not be towed 4 down they have really good reasons. Your Civics transmission is not made to lubricate the unit without the pump being driven by the engine. So please rethink your idea. Herman
  4. 414, Welcome to the Forum. Have you joined FMCA? To utilize trip routing you need to to be a member. Herman
  5. Yes, it scared the heck out of Penny when it came down. Herman
  6. And may it Rest In Peace. No this was a good topic. Has anyone but me notice that we no longer have the Knights of The Road, aka Truck Drivers. In the past there was an unspoken courtesy to signal, your safe to pull back in and thank you. All done with the flash of the lights. That being said, the other mornings, while driving on I-80 in Nebraska way before dawn, I would pass a truck and ever so often I would get the "Safe To Pull Back In" flash of their head lights and I would acknowledge with the flash of my clearance lights. But the minute the sun came up no more signals. That being said I think we, as RVers should show trucks every courtesy we would expect in return. Let them know that we are trying to be the :Ladies and Gentlemen of the RV World". Be Safe and Courteous on the road. Herman
  7. Let's understand that all vehicles can be towed 4 down when it doesn't exceed your GVWR. AWD, rear wheel drive, 4 wheel drive, even front wheel drive. They have pumps, drive shaft disconnect both front and rear. All you have to do is find or have base plates made. It just depends on how far and how much you are willing to spend. So all I can say is going for it. Herman
  8. Kay, 75amp worked better than the 100 amp? Herman
  9. Those FEMA trailers, as they were called, were trash to begin with. In Paris, Texas there was a place where you could buy them for $3,000.00 then $2,000.00 and they still couldn't get rid of them. They were insulated with formaldehyde foam insulation and no holding tanks (standard household plumbing). They were not built to last and they didn't. Herman
  10. Bat, If you charged the work on a credit card and you have not paid it, put the charge under protest. That will get CW's attention. Herman
  11. Carl Brothers, Welcome to the Forum. As Carl said there are two gentlemen you may contact, Jim Duncan with the Southeast Area and or David Kessler with the International Asre. Jim Duncan, National V.P. for the Southeast Area.....jduncan@fmca.com .....256-520-6773 David Kessler, National V.P. for the International Area....dkessler@fmca.com......972-890-4334 Jim can help you in the Florida area and David can help you Nation wide including Mexico and Canada. Two fine gentlemen and both will be more than happy to assist you. Hope to see you down the road. Herman.
  12. Bill, When we bought the coach in 07 it had the G 670s all around. Have replaced them all with the same. I have over 40k on them and some have aged out. They still have very good tread and no cracking. Sorry, yes I will continue to use them. Herman
  13. Bill, Are you speaking about the Goodyear G 670's? That is what I have on our coach and have had great results with them. Herman
  14. Bruce, Go on the Michelin Advantage site on fmca.com. check list for your tire and get the MAPN. Then call FMCA and ask for the lady that handles the program. Give her the MSPN and she will give you the price less your state tax. Find a dealer and check availability. You do need to call Michelin and register your credit card and F number. All this information is spelled out very clearly on the site. Herman
  15. Carl, Your friend is a wiseperson. Bling has never powered an RV, just the sale. When I was Purchasing for an elevator company I made a comment to the President of the company that many of the product were going out damaged in house before going to the job site. His remark to me made me very angry. He said the customer got a quality product no matter how much rework had to be done in the field. I told him the field installers should not have to rework what should have been correct in the first place. Herman wasn't too happy with me. Quality should be number one not an after thought. Herman
  16. Sed, Welcome to the Forum. Sound like a nice trip. While in Pueblo don't miss the Memorial at the Convention Center. Pueblo has the distinction of having 5, yes five Medal Of Honor recipients for there. It is to me a very Great Memorial. Going south on I-25 you will go through Raton, NM just off the Interstate and south of Raton is the NRA shooting range and store. South of there is the town of Cameron where Philmont Boy Scout Ranch is located. By the way, Stay away from the KOA on the North side of Pueblo. Park is fair but the absolute Devil to get into. Santa Fe ain't bad either. Your are passing through a great area. Herman
  17. Like Brett said check bushings, also check the shocks bushings as well. IFS check ball joints. If solid front axle tie Tod ends. And drag link as well. Good luck, Herman
  18. If you can visualize a bar used in semis to help secure the load them the bars you mentioned will be close but much smaller. They are used on top of the slides to help secure it when traveling. If you would like to see some, look on CampingWorld's online catalog. Herman
  19. B, The rath of the Gods will come down on you with fire and brimstone. Or it might too fast for the bearings to get enough lubrication. Herman
  20. Blake, If it is the arm at the top of the door and you have replaced it before try this. Make sure the holes and or bolt are not worn or wobbled out. If they are both ok get several Teflon flat washers to go between the top of the door and the arm. What it sounds to me is that the arm, over time begins to sag and will rest on top of the door. I have adjusted mine several times when it won't keep the door open. Let me know if this works. Herman
  21. Although we are not on the list, we have several friends that have stayed at our place. I have a 50 amp plug and a sewer dump right next to the drive. I haven't run a water line yet but plan on it some time in the future. I would also like to thank every one for the cards and letter. The SAW is recuperating nicely. In a month or so with continued therapy it should be almost as good a new. To help lift it's spirits I gave it a new blade and it made a world of difference. Herman
  22. Have to agree on part of your statement Joe. "Very simple unit." Replacing the components was no big deal however getting the unit out and back in wasn't easy. Trying to loosen the nuts was difficult. I am going to contact Thetford and find out if there is and adjustment for the water level. Herman
  23. I have been told that the cover material for electrical wire products, among other things, has Soy Bean by products in them making them a draw for rodents. I don't know this to be a fact but it makes since to me. One thing there is always a problem for RV'ers are ants. I found and tried a bottle of dog/cat Flea and Tick spray. I spray it on my sewer hose, water hose and power cord when we park. It has worked for us so far. However we did have a sever problems with ants in Shreveport. For some reason when ever one of our coach's mud flag touched the ground you could see a trail of ants climbing into the coach. Herman
  24. greenbarn, Have you tried to Google the part number? Just type in Attwood and the p/n. I will bet there is one out there just looking for a home. Let me know if you don't locate one. I will be at Colows in Carnage Missouri the first of August and will check with them. Good luck with your search. Herman
