I have towed two black vehicles and never noticed any problems. Our toad is now white and I am seeing chips in the white painted part of the bumper. I guess I had chips before but never noticed them before. Now where to hang the mud flap? On our coach we have a small flap behind each of the tag wheels. We have the full width flap about 18" in from the rear of the coach. When moving I wish it was closer to the ground. However when parked I wish it was shorter. I saw a coach recently that small wheels on each end of his flap so they would roll back when he dumped. They looked to be about the size of children's bicycle training wheels. Good idea. Herman

Weighting 4 corners and getting the recommended pressure is the way to go. For me the rule of thumb for tire wear has been, cupping. .shocks or balancing, inner or outer wearing..alignment, both edges wearing equal..too little air pressure and center wear..too much air pressure . Maybe just old school. Herman

Joe, It is a card thst cost about $40.00 per year. At participating parks you receive a 50% discount. Sound good when you first look at it. However (1) you don't get the discount if you make reservations. Drop in only. (2) in most parks it is only good for a maximum of 2 nights. (3) not good on weekends, Monday to Thursday. (4) not good on holidays or local special events. We found it easier to find a Wal-Mart or such tham one of their locations. Please don't get me wrong there are some nice over night parks that participate but there some not so nice ones. Bobbie and I very seldom make reservations. When we are in an area we just look for a place. Found some really nice one and really bad ones. Herman

Thanks for the invite. We would drop by to Choctaw this time but we have to be in Shawnee just as your Rally Starts. We live just 45 miles south in the small town of Whitewright, TX. You most likely pass right through there on you way to Choctaw. Bobbie and I know at least half of your members of RRR. Carl, Lone Star's next Rally is October 20 - 23 at Texarkana RV Park in Texarkana. Would love for you to come and join us. That goes to anyone else that would like to come. Just send me a PM for information. Herman

J., We don't worry about the cost. We just go and enjoy our trip. Of course we look at the CC bill when we get home. Then get ready for the next adventure. So when we get back again and we can look at the CC bills again. We do try to be conservative but not to the extent of ruining our trip. One thing we do is when possible we stay at a WalMart, Sams or Cabela's every other night. This way we can replenish supplies and then stay in a park the next night and clean up and clean out the systems. Our theory is to go, have fun, enjoy our self and remind the kids we are helping them out by not leaving anything that then will need to divide when we are gone, just thing of them. Herman

Bill, Have you tried taking the valve to a large Truck and Trailer shop? Lots of rigs have air ride suspensions and may be able to match the valve. It would be like giving Chicken Soap to a dead person, "It may not help, But it couldn't hurt" Herman

Narrow Bridges/ Bridges With Weight Limits
hermanmullins replied to MoFro's question in Destinations/Attractions
Carl, I have a son that is 6'7" and the coach wanted him to play Basketball. He asked if he could still swim. The coach told him no you will be a Basketball player not a 'blankety blank swimmer'. He told the coach no thank you. He went on to set school records and got a swimming scholarship to collage. He had the most beautiful Butterfly you ever saw. He is now the Assistant Parks Director for the City of McKinney and over seeing the building of the new Olympic Pool. Not to shabby for a kid that told the Basketball Coach, "No Thanks". One proud Dad, Herman -

Dan, As Brett said, Welcome. Most likely the seats are not leather. For me your best bet would be either to have them re upholstered or possibly find replacements at an RV salvage Yard. Last week while at Colaws RV Salvage in Carthage, MO I saw quit a few really nice leather Pilot and Copilot seats. Sorry I didn't look at prices. Herman

Rural Speed Traps This Summer
hermanmullins replied to andyshane's question in Destinations/Attractions
Carl only get tickets for speeding in the afternoon when he is late for Wine & Cheese. Herman -
Hayes, You didn't list the make of coach you are purchasing. If you will notice most folks here have their coach make, model and year listed in their signature. This will help in future questions. If there are now decals on the coach, you can take it to several places to have then redone. When to old decals are removed you will have a noticeable fading in the the paint. However this is not a bad thing. A good shop can use this as a pattern and tape off the area and paint the graphics back on. This might be less expensive then having new decals made and put on. Just a guess at the cost. I have a friend that has a 1995 Foretravel had the decals removed and painted back on. Looks great. Herman

2003 Country Coach Intrigue-- Where Is Window Washer?
hermanmullins replied to lprice's topic in Type A motorhomes
Sorry Iprice, couldn't help my self. If you can pull the generator out it should be tucked in on one side or the other. If you can locate the hose on the back side where it is mounted under the wiper you might follow the hose to the tank. Good luck. Herman -
