  1. Soo correct. Those were the days of the Harrison Compressors and if you weren't getting around 32 degrees out the vents your system wasn't operating correctly. As the Statler Brothers sang Those were the Days. Byron, I believe you can still buy R 12 but it is outrageously expensive. It can not be produced in the US however it can be imported and I understand Mexico is making some. Herman
  2. Joe, Consider purchasing your additives in bulk, like gallon size and put the amount you want to add when fueling in throwaway bottles. No muss, on fuss and throw away. Herman
  3. Well said Joe, This is a recipe everyone can use. Herman
  4. LC, My 03 Yukon and now my 08 Silverado both, did not have steering wheel locks. Nether does your 06 Suburban. I had the M & G Engineering Air Brake on both. (903-675-2812). I never had a problem with dead battery on either. To tow the vehicles I first connected the tow bar, put the vehicle in 4 wheel drive neutral and shift lever in Park, connected the air line, lights and brake away cable. Then I took the Key out and locked the doors. My tail lights were wired with diodes and not added bulbs. I did all the work myself and never had one problem. My suggestion would be to see if you can get your money back on the Buddy Brake and have either a M &G or Air Force 1 brake installed. Neither one has a electrical connection to drag down your battery. (M & G will be at the FMCA National Rally in West Springfield this August and they can install it for you there) One thing everyone forgets is with a Buddy Brake, is that every time you hit your brakes the Stop Lights will light up because the BB is applying pressure to the pedal which activates the tail lights Doing this along with the BB pump (12 volt Electrical) the battery is drawn down. and when you have a dead battery your BB doesn't work. These are just my opinions. And again, welcome to the family. Herman
  5. Five, Look at Dell's web site, I have seen ads for Dell laptops and PCs with Windows 7 Professional OP. Herman
  6. LC, Congratulations on joining FMCA and welcome to the family. Now find a chapter and meet your new relatives. Herman
  7. Wayne, I have a 10 lb. sledge and recp. saw and with them I can get to most anything. May not be pretty but effective. :-). Of course with my method your shower might leak. Herman
  8. Joe, As Carl said, great job the coach looks great. If you could please post your procedure you followed to do the removal. Steam is supposed to be the way to go and I have been thinking of renting one of those steam tools for removing wall paper. It will cover a broad area and confine the steam to one spot. Think it will be a project for this winter. Just had another brilliant idea, I can park the coach outside facing west down here and around five PM it should be soft enough to peel right off. Herman
  9. Randy, Welcome to the Forum. Check out this dealer. http://motorhomesoftexas.com/ If you see something you like call and ask for Mel. Herman
  10. Tim, Thanks for the information, never seen that but will now look them. Herman
  11. EskerBahn, Welcome to the Forum. Are you talking about your bed in the bedroom? If so our bed has two struts that help support the bed in the raised position. To lower the bed, all I do is just push down on the bed and down it will go. My only problem is that the bed is too heavy to stay up with out holding it up or putting something to support it. What you may have are two really strong struts. And then again maybe not. Herman
  12. Give us an idea of where you are located and maybe some one knows a good RV detailer in your area. In the mean time, when you get your credit card statement, put the CW's charge under protest. That will get their attention and maybe, just maybe they will resolve the issue. Herman
  13. Jr. Welcome to the Forum. If CW sub let the job out, I would not have dealt with the sub, but straight with CW. They are the one responsible for the end product. Herman
  14. Don, When I apply my Jake Brake, my transmission go to 2nd or second gear. My coach has 400 ISL with the Allison 3000 and a Jake Brake. When I am on a descending hill or mountain I sometimes still have to feather the brakes. I just work them all together. Herman
  15. CM, Welcome to the Forum. You may have already done so but go back and read this post. It speaks of doing just what you are looking for. But yes there is a kit from Ford, you just need to talk to them. In this post is a step by step post on installing the kit. Good luck and again Welcome. Herman
  16. The Cold ones. See you in Shawnee? It would be a good place for your Golf Chapter to come, we have a tournament on Monday, I think. Herman
  17. Ops! My he Rest In Peace. Herman
  18. One thing you might do is get a PVC pipe cap that will fit over the tail pipe. Hang a red flag from it so you will remember to remove it. I remember removing red warning flag while on the flight line when in the Navy. Had to remove them count them and then show them to the pilot. In the front wheel well there was a compartment to stow them. When they returned, out they came and replaced back in their appropriate location. Herman
  19. killmer, There is a company in Lewisville, Texas, National Indoor Storage & RV. Their name is a bit deceiving, They have some very good technicians. I took my Inverter/charger to them and they bench tested it. It was fine but they would have been able to repair is if there had been a problem. Check around your area and see if there is a National Indoor Storage in your area, It may be less costly to repair than replace. Herman
  20. Bill Adams, Welcome back, hope you can stay, your knowledge and advise on Satellites dishes and receivers has been missed. Herman
  21. king, wasn't to good for the babies. Try using a wad of steel wool. At least it will breathe if you forget to remove it. Herman
  22. astmi, Do you need doors for your Norcold? Is send me a PM. I have a complete set of 4 doors for a 1200. Herman
  23. Sorry Joe, I have not been to Indianapolis. However is you look in the past rally archives you can see where it was held, not sure of the year. Have heard where but can't remember where it will be in Chandler, it will be a first for there. Would love for you to come to Shawnee. Herman
  24. Joe, I think in 2017 the winter rally is in Chandler Arizona and the summer is in Indianapolis Indiana. Sorry not sure of the dates. We plan on attending both. Herman
