  1. Gentlemen, Thanks for clearing this up. As I said, I have no knowledge or facts on the AGM Batteries. I am still in the Stone Age with batteries, aka wet cell. If I understand, you need to trickle charge the AGMs to being them back from being completely drained. Herman
  2. Leary, Sorry there was no disrespect meant to the OP'er. As I mentioned in my first response, I did make some calls and that was what I tried to post back to them. There was no disrespect meant. Thank you and all of the Alfa group for all of your help, I know they appreciated it. Again Sorry, Herman
  3. Just heard today about how to charge an AGM battery that is completely discharged. From what I understand you can not charge one that is completely discharged. Was told that you have to fool the Battery. What you do is put a fully charged wet cell battery in parallel with the AGM and connect the charger to the wet cell battery. Was told that the charger will then rejuvenate the AGM. Will it work or just an ole wives tell, I don't know. However as I have said before, "It would be like giving Chicken Soup to a dead man. It may not help but it can't hurt". Herman
  4. R. LeBlanc, "Salesman telling the truth" is the ultimate oxymoron. As for folks telling you that a diesel engine with 50-60,000 miles is just getting broke in that is correct. Most will tell you that somewhere about that time the coach started to run better and that they would see a slight increase in mileage. Herman
  5. David, If you would like to meet up with Bill, Check out the Red River Rovers on Tuesday "Chapter Day". They should be having a Social around 5:00 PM. They will be in the Lot 400. Bill if RRR is having something different let David know. See you sometime today. Herman
  6. Hayes, Sorry but I'm not trying to being sarcastic. It is your money and you should spend it in a matter that makes you feel comfortable. I myself have Coach-Net. Are they the best, I personally don't know. They have always come through for me. If AAA is the company that makes you comfortable go with them. All of us here have learned by our own experiences and the advice from others. All of the ones we know best are the ones that went wrong. Good luck. Herman
  7. Abdul, Again sorry for your loss. If I might let me ask you a couple of questions you might have gotten from 7 Corners. Is your wife's prescriptions with a major Pharmacy? If so 7 Corners can contact them and get med.s shipped to you from the closest Pharmacy. Who is your Doctor and have you contacted their office? Will your Dr. Fax a new prescriptions to the closest Pharmacy? May things are hard when you have had a catastrophic loss. However the coverage of FMCAssist all hinges on Medical emergencies and communications with Doctors, Hospitals and Emergency Physicians. Your Family is here to help. Herman
  8. David, Welcome to retirement. Since you show that you are full timing, take a trip to Moscow Iowa the the HWH factory. Call them talk to a tech. The tech may be able to help you over the phone. If not talk to Ashley, make an appointment. They are great folks to work with and very reasonable. 800-321-3494 563-724-3396 www.hwhcorp.com Herman

    Shocks

rfsod48, Is there any difference between a Ugo and a BMW? When you have a choice between Koni and Bilstein it is the same as choosing between a Lexas and Benz. Both are good. You should come to Chandler in March and attend Brett's Seminar on Suspension. Good luck on your choice. Herman
  10. Bill, is correct. You may start the engine with the remote switch in the rear of the coach, To do so you have to turn the key on then go to the rear of the coach place the switch in remote. once the engine is started you may either service what you need or return the switch to front. If you failed to return the switch to front you will not have controls up front. Try that again and be sure to return the switch to the front position. Good luck. HERMAN
  11. Just had to paint some replacement parts on the coach. Went to English Color, an auto paint company. They color matched the paint and put it in a small 6 oz. bottle that came with a spray unit. All for less then $25.00. Herman
  12. Ramcat, Welcome to the Forum. Always nice to hear about those great out of the way parks. In a town names Coolville, I wouldn't expect anything else. Are you FMCA Members? Herman
  13. Bill, When replacing our dome with the Travler I found out that the newer units are service provider specific. The unit I replaced had dip switches that could be changed to different providers. Do the new carry out units have dip switches or are they also provider specific? Herman
  14. Roland, I do the same. We live in a all metal home in the country. At present time when at home, I teather my phone to my computer and have to put the phone on the window ledge to get a fair signal. Look forward to seeing what others have used. Herman
  15. Bernie, If not said before, Welcome To the Forum. Not a fan of messing with the engine set up by the factory. I beleive that the engineers at the factory are way smarter then I am with regards to the engines they manfacturer. Making a change to the ECU also doesn't help the Transmission. PS, just a side note, writing in all capitols is an indication that you are shouting and I don't beleive that is your intention. Herman
  16. Jim, Welcome to the Forum. Do you by some chance know the model number of the batteries? Herman
  17. herb, Welcome to the Forum. I had a 1998 Monaco Windsor that had a similar problem as you are having. What I found was a loose ground connection. The fan had a ground wire connected to a pin on the fan's mounting flange. The connector was loose enough to not make contact. Crimped the connector put it back on and walli, I that fan. When I worked in the auto world the resistor many times was the main culprit. It was generally found on the box where the fan was mounted. However in most cases the fan would still work but only on one speed. Herman
  18. Quick check on the solenoids. Turn on the Ignition key and check for power on both large lugs on the solenoid. 12 volts plus on each = solenoid good. 12 volts only on one side = bad solenoid A starting place for me that works. Herman
  19. I used both the auto shut off and the tilt method when filling up. My fill neck is large enough so I don't get any back splash. Since I have a filler neck on both sides, I will raise the side that I will fill on so I can fill the tank completely. And Yes truckers sometimes look at me funny. Of course so do so many other people. Herman
  20. erjarrett, Welcome to the Forum. It will help if you can provide the Make, Model and Year of you coach plus the make, model and HP of your engine. With this information you will get responses of folks that have "Been There, Done That and Got the Tee Shirt." Good Luck, Herman
  21. Bill, Good advice. Let me add one more thing. Be sure to call you provider when you return to your home base. If not you might wonder why you are not receiving you home channels when you are home. Been there done that. I have made it a practice to call the provider when we are getting close to home and changing back to home address. Herman
  22. Sorry, Bill after making the change to my SD 1000, and due to age I missed the correct name of my old dome. I believe it was a Road Trip. But heck don't hold me even to that. Herman
  23. I have found that the best batteries are ones that you can get service or warranted, if needed, any where in the country. To me that would be Walmart, Sam's and Interstate. This just makes it convenient for me. Herman
  24. Sorry, back to the original post, places to Boon Dock? We found a new place on our recent trip, Cabala's. They have an RV park at the home office in Sydney, NE that is a first come first served with no registration. However if full you are welcomed to dry camp on their property. We stayed in Lincoln, NE where in the back of the store was a well lit parking area marked for RVs and they even had a small corral that you could pin up any large animals you might be trailing somewhere. Other places we have spent the night (just one) have been, WalMart as you mentioned, Sam's, Highway Rest Areas and truck stops (not preferred, too noisy). I have seen coaches in large outlet malls, but have never stayed in one yet. Too much of a chance for the DW to spend money. Herman
  25. I am so sorry for the loss of your coach and you beloved pet. I will make some calls that might help. Again I am truly sorry for you loss. Herman
