  1. Wow, here in North Texas an alignment is around $250.00 for both front and rear. On our coach there is an adjustment knob in the engine compartment. You might look there. Herman
  2. Kay, Understand the hitch mounted flag pole receiver but isn't it a pain to remove the tow bar and insert the flag pole rec. into the receiver? Or do you have some sort of dual hitch? An over and under type or so? Herman
  3. You may adjust the tag to carry more load and reduce the weight on the drive axle. I have not heard of alignment affecting ride height. Weight distribution is another story. Redistributing a bit of weight off the drive axle to the tag may help with the height. By the way what all was included in the $450.00 alignment? Herman
  4. rv, What does the maker of your awning say? Give their tech dept a call. It very well could be in the housing and will need replaving. Dollar wise try some RV salvage yards or try calling PPL in Houston they have a great parts dept. Herman
  5. j, In most cases when you contact your insurance company and "put your coach in storage" which means you won't be taking it on the road, it only stops your Liability coverage but keeps your Comprehensive coverage in place. So even though you want be on the road you will still be covered in case of fire or weather related damage. Only a few companies have such coverage. Herman
  6. Hayes, Will be happy to see you over the rainbow as long as there is foood ?. Were there two TV's previously in the coach? If so and you replace the ones removed be sure and not get both TV's the same make. With both the same and you turn one on or off you will do the same to the other. Both Dish and Direct are Good service providers. If you go with an open faced dish the Direct dish in most case will bea bit higher in cost. After a few trips you will be telling the DW the coach is always on the top of the Honey Do List. PS: let me know that works out for you.? Herman
  7. Lyle, Try opening the awning completely then with mallet/hammer and a short piece of board try to see if the cover will move back in position. The board will distribute the force over the covers edge. What it sounds like is that the screw or rivet that acts as a stop may be missing. Herman
  8. There is going to be an new chapter formed here in FMCA, "FWA" aka the "FORUM WITHDRAWAL AUTONOMOUS." It will be where you have a sponsor to help you through those time when the system goes down. Herman
  9. exitstratergy, Welcome to the Forum. Can't speak about Direct TV, I have Dish. My Dish 311 receiver worked well for a number of years. However with the changes made by Dish my old single LND dome wouldn't work. I did upgrade to a new Winegard Traveler and now use a 722 receiver and couldn't be happier. Bill Adams can give you an answer to your question. He will be on soon. Herman
  10. David, Sorry for your difficulties. Take a look at you pump. There should be several solenoid that have what looks like a tee type knob. Try turning each, one at a time and try the gen. slide. It may retract the slide. If all else fails pull in your slides in then loosen the lines for gen. cylinder and you may be able to push the generator in. Be sure and secure the slide and tighten the lines back. You should be able to use your room slides till you are able to get to HWH. If you need help give me a call. 214-679-7791 Be sure to tighten the knobs back. Herman
  11. Bob, do you have an inverter/charger. If unsure, contact the mfg. They can tell you what kind you have. Just a side note, all Capitols indicates you are shouting. Herman
  12. JM Welcome to the Forum. Ryan's RV , Princeton, TXT Danny's RV, Denton National Indoor Storage , Lewisville Just to name a few. Herman
  13. Five, This is a one time offer. Come by Whitewright with your toad and I will wire it for you. This offer will self destruct in 48 hours. Herman
  14. Good comment Bill. That makes sense as to why Winegard is offering to help customers upgrade. Dish is ever evolving in ways to better help the consumer and the RV Mfg.rs will have to adjust. My only hope is that they don't make any upgrades to where I have to change the dish again. Herman
  15. Well said Carl, short, sweet and easy to understand. Herman
  16. David, Carl and Bill, It was nice visiting with you'll in Shawnee. Sorry I wasn't able to spend more time visiting, but as you'll saw I was busier that a one armed paper hanger. You'll may not know, but Texarkana will be my last year as Southern Region VP. Until yesterday I was planning on moving to the rocking chair and watch from there. There have been some changes and next week I will be placing my name in the hat for the position of Senior Vice President for the Six-State Rally Association. Candidates are elected by the Area National Directors from each Chapter. If you are or are not a N/D I would appreciate your support. Thanks again and we will rally up again soon I hope, say Chandler? Herman
  17. Drew, Welcome to the Forum. Sorry I don't know where you are but give this company a call. Chalks Truck Parts. 713-672-6344 They are in Houston, Texas and should be able to help. If your mechanic has the old seal out he should be able to get a Part number off of it. With a part number NAPA or a bearing house should be able to find a seal. Like it is said in the good book "Seek and ye shall find." Herman
  18. Like Brett I to had to do the back up, pull forward then parallel park and is wasn't hard. (last time I had done was when we were shopping in down town Dallas and the DW spotted a spot in front of her favorite store) Using my right side mirror turned down so I could see the curb and the rear wheel helped a lot. As I observed the ear of the coach about to go over the curb I cut the wheel hard and the coach slipped right in. Herman
  19. I know that my speedo. is not correct and always set my CC by the speed reading on my GPS. I rarely look at the speedo. Herman
  20. double R, Contact Winegard. I had the same problem and it turned out that the dome would not support the newer signal from Dish. They do offer a discount to Winegard customers due to the changes made by Dish. Go out and buy quite a few video movies. Please don't start smoking again. Sorry for your difficulties. Good Luck. Herman
  21. Tilldee, Motor Home tire don't, in most cases, wear out. They age out. I always examine my tire on a regular basic. However at around 5 years I become more aware of cracking and crazing. Many times you will see a great amount of tread left and think you are good to go. The side walls may look fine, but look between the treads. Most folks will change out their tires around the 7 year mark. Be sure and check the Mfg. date code on any tires your dealer wants to put on your vehicle. (aka 22-16 = tires made in the 22nd week of 2016). And it wouldn't hurt to record the date code and location of each tire you have. Herman
  22. I have wired several toads for both myself and friends. Always used diodes. Two for each side, one for the tail lights and one for the turn/stop lights. Used the bulk 4 conductor wire as shown in Jim's picture. It is a very easy task with running the wire from the front to the rear of the toad and deciding on which type of plug and where to mount it. I am just not a fan of adding the extra bulbs into the lights. However many do and if it works for them great. Herman
  23. Well it finally happened, we have gone from What I like or dislike about Camping world to where to get or which is the best toilet paper. All I can say about that is, Herman
