  1. Mike the Buick Encore is not listed in the 2021 FMCA Towing Guide. The only Buick listed is the 2021 Enclave. Herman
  2. On a Aqua Hot unit, when it is on and heat is required the blower will come on to clear the unit of any fumes. Then it will ignite produce heat until the the heat is no longer required. When the unit shuts down the flame will go out and the blower will blow until it chamber has cooled down then the blower will stop. This is how it was explained to me by several AH techs. An that is how mine works. Herman
  3. Mike, Welcome to the Forum. In the latest issue of Family RVing is the 2021 Towing Guide. That will have a lot of information on all vehicle including the Buick Encore. Again Welcome. Herman
  4. Bill, I haven't winterized our coach in 10 years. I keep it in our Garage/Barn. It is fully insulated and the lowest I have ever seen it is down to about 45 degrees. I have the electric side of the Aqua Hot on and the bay have heat that will come on at 36 degrees. So I don't worry about that unit. When we are camping in the cold , between to A/H & heat pumps we stay comfortable. Saying that if our coach was stored in the open or just a covered shed then I would do the full winterized treatment. Since you now have the Aqua Hot, Hydro Hot or Oasis unit the best advise is to run the unit for at least 30 to 45 minutes once a month (a must). Good luck and you and Gale have a Merry Christmas. See you at Coffee Creek in February. Herman
  5. Bill he is testing the coolant. The same way your test the coolant in the coach. It is a strip you dip into the coolant and check colors. A testing kit cost about $40.00 from NAPA and will do about 25 test. Herman
  6. John, Welcome to the Forum. It is hard to get through to HWH but I would give them a call. If you get to one of the tech they can be a lot of help. 563-724-3396 And again Welcome. Herman
  7. I changed my about 4 years ago. Thought I had a leak drained the system. System holds 16 Gallons I drained out 15 Gallons, NO LEAK. That was when i replaced all the fluid. Coach was in for service and the tech told me that the tank fill line was a bit loose and was causing a small leak, so he tightened it no more leak. Just one more head slap moment id owning a RV. Herman
  8. Story of my Aqua Hot leak. I had my unit in for repairs. Chris discovered several parts that needed to be ordered from AQ. So I took my coach home. I discovered AQ coolant on the floor of the Garage. Took the coach back to the shop (only 15 miles). Chris's face turned red, he crawled in the bay, came out and said the leak was fixed. He said that in removing the blower unit he had hit the drain valve. All he had to do was move the valve less than a 1/8 of a turn and the leak stopped. He did have to refill the unit with 7 gallons of 50/50 coolant (system holds 16 gallons of coolant). Checking the overflow tank is critical in knowing the coolant level. There is a level sensor and when low the unit will shut down till the level is corrected. Herman
  9. D, can you explain the reason or traditions of your wife. Just wondering. (Hopefully no offence) Thanks, Herman
  10. I haven't heard the name quahogs in many years. My last duty station was in Quonset, Rhode Island. We would buy a cup of Steamers. Thanks for the memory. Herman
  11. I can see the tire being used in commercial use where they go through tires a lot more than an RV. Advance warning to a low tire can say much down time and keep the vehicles on the road. That would justify the added cost that I am sure is there. Not so much for RVers. I am sure that a complete set of TPM would be a lot less then the tires. Herman
  12. Your are right Ross, the Samsung RF18 we installed was a perfect to replace the Nevercool 1200. We were fortunate to have a drawer under the 1200. I removed the drawer and put the Samsung down at floor level. I made the space above the unit into a storage space. My wife loves the extra space over the 1200. Herman
  13. Just in in my humble opinion when you have issues with any Gas Absorption Refrigerator it is time to look at replacing it with a Residential unit. If you do you will never be sorry and have piece of mind of it not catching on fire. Changed our out about 6 years ago and nary a problem (plus we have twice the space for the finer things in life, beer and wine). Again just IMHO. Herman
  14. It's not the first time for not having all the facts. FRVTA BOARD DECIDES TO CANCEL INDUSTRY DAY AT SUPERSHOW 5 PUBLIC DAYS STILL A GO! The Florida RV Trade Association (FRVTA) Board of Directors voted to cancel Industry Day at the 2021 Florida RV SuperShow scheduled for next month. The 5 public days of the show will still take place Wednesday, January 13th through Sunday, January 17th at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. “We’ve had a number of exhibitors request extra time to set up,” said FRVTA Show Director Lesa Colvin. “Plus the extra day will give us more time to get ready for the 5 pubic days. We will be instituting a lot of new measures to make sure the show is a clean and safe environment for the public as well as our exhibitors”. Holding the show with COVID-19 prompted some changes for this year’s show. Temperature checks will be done on all exhibitors and attendees. Masks will be required inside the buildings and RVs (Hillsborough County Mandate). Sanitizer and wash stations will be located throughout the show. Social distancing will be enforced and both supplier buildings and RVs will be sanitized nightly and cleaned on a regular basis during the show. Dave Kelly, FRVTA Executive Director said it was a tough decision to cancel Industry Day but the Board did what they thought was the right thing. “I hope everyone can understand this is not a typical year, we are concentrating all of our efforts into holding the most successful public show we can. Any extra time we can have to make sure we are ready to welcome the public is appreciated this year”. For more information on the 2021 Florida RV SuperShow, contact the Florida RV Trade Association at 10510 Gibsonton Drive, Riverview, Florida 33578, call (813) 741-0488 or visit our website at www.frvta.org. 15. Carl, I understand the "Tampa Super Show" has been canceled. You might check it out. I got an email from Jon Walker saying that it has been canceled. (?) Herman
  16. Has anyone with either a "T" Mobile or Sprint phone seen any difference in their service since T Mobile purchased Sprint? Herman
  17. Wayne, did you see the dog actually move? I am looking at the picture an the dogs mouth (snout) just doesn't look real to me. I may be wrong but it won't be the first time and for sure won't be the last. Herman
  18. That's a new one on me, I've seen dog sitting in front of the rider but never behind. You are right, Dangerous. Herman
  19. Wayne, it is only a Jet Pack with truly unlimited data. We have AT&T for our phones. Now that I feel good about Sprint Connect I do plan on cutting back my data on our phones. I have had as many as 4 devices on at the same time with no problems. Herman
  20. I have Sprint Connect through FMCA for $49.95 per month. It is truly unlimited. We live in the country in an all metal home and it works great. The wife watches Netflix all the time with out any trouble. All the prices shown are over priced as far as I am concerned. Herman
  21. Talked with our son that lives in Cheyenne, WY yesterday. He said it was 21 degrees, 5" of snow on the ground but no wind. Said it was a nice day. I must have raised him wrong. Nothing about his day seemed nice to me. Herman
  22. Blue Ox and Roadmaster both make shields to help protect your tow vehicle. Google "RV TOW VEHICLE SHIELDS" there you will find some very nice shields. Herman
  23. Turtle, Welcome to the Forum. Sorry I can't be of much help. I have been in Medicare for the last 15 years. At present the wife and I both have New Era Life as our supplemental insurance. Good luck with your search. Herman
  24. Roland, Sorry to hear about your son. He is in our Prayers as are you & Linda. Herman
  25. Add Kansas to your list for the NTTA Toll Tag. Works great. Didn't know about Florida, Georgia and North and South Carolina. Thanks for the info. Herman
