  1. Don, You are correct-- sorry this one kind of wandered at the end. Appreciate the reminder to stay on topic or start a new topic. Thanks.
  2. Closing this thread, as it is a duplicate of this currently active one: http://community.fmca.com/topic/8903-important-towing-information-2014-2016-jeep-cherokee/
  3. Ray, Welcome to the FMCA Forum. Yes, this is a very active subject. Here is an on-going thread on it: http://community.fmca.com/topic/8903-important-towing-information-2014-2016-jeep-cherokee/

    HEST Lamp Came On

I e-mailed a tech with this thread. Here is his response (no first hand info on my part): That is not how the regeneration works. Temp difference at DPF filter at inlet and outlet will determine if regen . In most cases air leak at ARD Head will prevent Regen and there 3 sensor, one at both ends of DPF filter and up at the igniter. If raw fuel is present at DPF filter igniter did not start Regen.
  5. Just my opinion, but I would not make a "special process" of converting to oil bath. Yes, when servicing brakes or wheel bearings, the additional cost would be well worth it.
  6. Detail on next National Convention: http://www.fmca.com/conventions-64/west-springfield-2016.html With only 1,500 available sites, suspect it will sell out (there were over 2,000 coaches in Perry).
  7. Yup, Eagle Nest and Angel Fire NM just up the road are the closest cool summer destination from Texas, OK, etc. With an elevation of 8,000' it is very rare that you will need your A/C, even in July and August.
  8. I stayed pretty busy, but both Dianne and I thought it was one of the better Conventions. Next summer, with the max of 1500 coaches (limit of the site) should be another good one. But, if interested you might want to register early, it will probably fill up fast (there were over 2,000 here in Perry).
  9. Well, we pulled out at 8:30 this morning. Many coaches moving around, but with all the exits, there were just 2 coaches in front of us. Pretty painless.
  10. Actually, it has been pretty easy. There are 6 major exits, most on to 4 lane roads with I 75 just a short distance away. Some people left yesterday, so departures are really spread over two days.
  11. huffypuff, Rich and Lois are doing just fine-- they are parked a couple of coaches down from us here at the FMCA Convention in Perry. Rich has had some major computer issues, that is why we have not been seeing him.
  12. cchuck, I have forwarded this thread to the FMCA staff and asked that they follow up with their Subaru Corp contact for the current company position. Stay tuned-- hopefully they can get an answer early next week. As you know, all Subaru's with manual transmission have historically been towable (both officially and mechanically).
  13. Carl, Most likely "suspects" on water leaks at roof A/C's are: Loose or failed unit to roof gasket (replace and/or properly torque). Crack in A/C cover letting water into the unit. Clogged condensate drain (if it leaks when A/C running, not from rain).
  14. The statement "Gasser Game Changer For Me!" suggests that this single device will move a chassis from "not acceptable to on-my-short list". Much as I would like to agree, there is NO SILVER BULLET that fixes all suspension issues. If in Perry, come to the Suspension Seminar tomorrow-- a discussion of suspension basics and then over a hundred years of hands on RV suspension experience on the panel for the Q&A: Suspensions – Saturday, March 19 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., Seminar 5
  15. Carl, I agree. The sound guys were setting up the room for the next morning's seminars toward the end of our get together. A couple of REALLY loud microphone/speaker feedbacks. Ear splitting!
  16. It was great putting a "face with a screen name" at our get together. Let's continue to meet on-line and perhaps meet face to face at the next FMCA Convention. And, ya, some of your avatars must have been photo-shopped.
  17. For those in/near Perry, just a reminder: FMCA Forums Meet & Greet – Thursday, March 17 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Seminar 5 Bring a beverage of your choice and a snack if you like.
  18. Perhaps some confusion here. The Detroit diesel 8.2 liter is a FOUR STROKE engine, NOT one of the famous TWO STROKE DD's. Totally unrelated animals.
  19. Excellent. Here is link to a "step by step" procedure for changing coolant: http://forum.dieselrvclub.org/index.php/topic,6653.0.html
  20. Bill, Can you post the Freightliner PN? That way people can call in to their local Freightliner dealer and check for stock and price. Thanks. Brett

  22. With the quality TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor Systems) available today, IMO the need for these is much less. They have been used for years on buses around the world-- easy to adjust PSI for empty vs fully loaded. Our weights (except for that REALLY big Walmart run) are pretty constant.
  23. If you are going to only run your refrigerator on 120 VAC, a residential refrigerator is MATERIALLY more efficient than an absorption refrigerator. PERIOD. Not suggesting one over the other, but if you are only running it on 120 VAC, your decision is already made for you.
  24. A good idea whenever you are working on the air system.
