  1. Many things have changed. When the merger happened things went seriously downhill. I mean seriously! downhill. They have worked out just about all of the kinks and things now work as they should. Just be sure to brush up on the "rules" for proper use of the card and you should not have any (or at least very few) issues. Due to their new pricing being higher than most any other option I still do not frequent PFJ, but sometimes it's the only stop that makes any sense.
  2. If you need to travel you can always just leave the fridge on gas and your trip will not be interrupted. In the meantime I would be looking at the heating element as the most likely cause of your problem. This unit is designed to do what an open propane flame does and if it is not heating properly you will have very poor performance.
  3. We have been waiting for our "REMCO" driveshaft disconnect from Superflow since we ordered it mid-June. For now I have to crawl under the van and disconnect the driveshaft so we can tow. Hopefully, someday, Superflow will come through and get us the necessary equipment. We were working with Henderson line-up in Grants Pass, OR (yes, travel to TX was out of the question) but they can't do anything if Superflow can't come through. Once we do get word that the driveshaft is available we will have to locate an installer along our travels and have it shipped there. Very disappointing compared to dealing with REMCO when they owned the business.
  4. The mileage with and without a toad will vary between nothing and extreme depending upon the type of toad you are considering. Most reasonably sized toads will have little or no effect on your mileage. Is this a gas or diesel coach? What size/hp engine does it use? If you plan on about 10MPG for most RV's you will usually be close enough to decide if that is an acceptable number. If you get a bit more or a bit less it won't effect your overall budget significantly.
  5. What the H E double hockey sticks are you talking about (I love Radar from the M*A*S*H series)?
  6. Thanks for that update. It gives me some real peace of mind.
  7. I am not sure of your setup and I doubt they would be less than $200, but if you want some batteries you don't have to think about and will last for many, many years to come I would suggest that you look at the Lifeline line of batteries. There is NO maintainence....Really, none! Mine are currently 9 1/2 years old and still going strong. If you will be keeping this coach for awhile they still might pay for themselves in the long run. Mine sure have.
  8. Hopefully, all you will be able to get is a name, a city/state and an RV type. If FMCA is giving out contact information for their members I will dropping my membership tomorrow!
  9. While the parking is pretty cozy, there is plenty of room to leave should it become necessary.
  10. There is a ton of RV and bus parking at the Columbia Ice Field visitor center if that is what you are asking about.
  11. I don't know about Bay Harbor, but we have stayed at many "RV Parks For Sale" and have never been bothered. They usually charge too much and they usually ask you once if you would be interested in a "tour" in return for a free stay but when I have answered no, that was the end of it.
  12. That sounds like 1956 technology as well. I would not see that as a valid test of today's batteries.
  13. Not so with Flying J and Pilot. You might want to re-check your information. I don't always use PFJ, but when I must it's very easy and only requires the swipe of a card at the pump.
  14. The Frequent Fueler (now called My Rewards) is not an FMCA thing but available to any RV owner.
  15. There's really nothing available as an alternate route if you are just interested in getting from point A to B. You likely came out ahead compared to any route you could have selected to find a way around.
  16. I got my card about 10 years ago. Would not be without it! Why, when I do need to use a Flying J, would I give away money unnecessarily? Discount on the fuel plus the cash price when using a CC? Sign me up (again)!
  17. No, but you do want to verify that you are charging while using the generator (no engine running) and then you want to ensure that with both running you don't have an issue.
  18. No worries, just a hole to drive through. If you can't fit you shouldn't be on the road! It's a truck route.
  19. If you are losing the signal and not having it return after a brief interruption like a tunnel then you have a bad radio or a bad antenna but I don't see any possible way it could be Sirius as the signal is certainly there.
  20. That's good. That means the coach is wired so it will charge all batteries from multiple sources. You will need to ensure that there is a battery isolator in the circuit or the house batteries will also drain your starting batteries and strand you somewhere.
  21. That's hard to do when the water is under the slide toppers!
  22. The general theory behind any sensor where some part of the sensor enters the tank itself is that the bottom most sensor would not provide any reading (empty) until the water level rises enough to touch the probe above creating a circuit. When the water level creates a circuit between the bottom (ground or power) sensor and the one directly above your gauge would read 1/4 (or lowest option). As the water rises and touches the 2nd sensor the 1/4 and the 1/2 lights would be lit followed by 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and the 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and Full.
  23. Didn't you say you had it at Freigthliner? Did you take it for a drive with them? Did you see these issues? What is Freightliner saying?
